Chapter 28 - Food preparation and noises at the background [I]

Isaac put the bodies of the dead bodies in Xavion's storage ring had a lot of space left in it. Isaac then returned to the city. The first thing he did after returning was take shelter inside a quiet house where he had started copying the different runes that were written on the wolves' bodies.

It took Isaac around 80 minutes to properly copy all the runes in his notebook. This was Isaac's first time writing runes, so he was being extra careful to not make even a slight difference when he was drawing the runes in his notebook.

In these one hour and 20 minutes, Lusha on a chair sat opposite Isaac and curiously watched what he was doing the entire time. It was not that Lusha didn't understand what Isaac was doing. She wanted to know why he was doing it. During this 80 minutes time period, Lusha didn't ask anything to Isaac. Because she knew that when writing runes one needs to have complete focus. Lusha was seen how other Runes masters write runes. Compared to them, Isaac's speed was slow as a tortoise.

"Finally done." Isaac couldn't help but smile seeing how perfectly he had copied all the runes in his notebook. Isaac felt writing runes was harder than fighting those second-order wolves.

Just as Isaac closed his notebook, he heard Lusha's soft and melodic voice. "Why did you copy all these runes in your notebook? Are you going to show this rune to a runemaster or what?" Lusha didn't know that Isaac had a class that was called Rune King that allowed him to quickly comprehend runes.

Isaac didn't reply immediately. He first put the bodies of the wolves in the storage ring. He then turned to look at Lusha with a proud look.

"I am going to study these runes." Isaac couldn't completely understand what these runes meant. He had a feeling that as long as he comprehended these runes, he would be able to increase his knowledge of runes and learn new spells.

When Isaac looks at the runes on the wolf's bodies, he can understand certain words but 90% of the words remained mysterious and uncleared to Isaac. It was as if those words were covered in white mist.

Hearing Isaac's words Lusha showed a confused look that only lasted for a second. Unfortunately, Isaac wasn't lucky enough to see the change on her face.

"What is your class? Honestly, now even I am getting confused." If Isaac's class was related to Rune then how can he fight like a warrior. Most runes users fight using runes. However, the Dragon Empress had never seen Isaac fight using runes. She was certain that Isaac's class was something very special.

"That's a secret." Saying that Isaac left.

"This nameless boy dares to play hard in front of the Dragon Empress. If I hadn't taken interest in him, I would have killed him." Lusha pouted and then disappeared. Too bad, no living was there to see how beautiful the Empress looked when she pouted.

While returning to the first base, Isaac finally decided to check his stats.

'Leveling up 25 times has increased all of my stats my [25+].'

'Not bad. My speed has surpassed the [200+] mark. Now I will have to level up my spearman class to 25. In the future, I will need Mana to use spells or draw runes so I should start investing some of my stats to my mana.'

Isaac felt a cooling sensation spread throughout his entire body. He felt his senses has gotten a lot sharper than before.

'I also shouldn't neglect my health. While my other stats have broken through the hundred mark, my health and strength still remain below hundred.'

[Ding! [50+] has been added to Health]

[Ding! [25+] has been added to Strength]

Just as Isaac increased his health, the wound that he received from the wolves' sneaky attack rapidly started to heal and in less than 5 seconds, the wound healed.

'I still have [180+] free stats. Since at this point, I mostly rely on my speed to kill my enemies I should increase my speed. But without increasing my stamina, I won't able to last in a fight for a long time. The faster I run, the faster I consume my stamina. If I run out of fuel in the middle of a battle, things could go in a worse direction and get me killed. Also, the more stamina I have, the faster I will be able to heal myself, meaning my health recovering speed will increase.'

[Ding! [100+] has been added to agility]

[Ding! [80+] has been added to Stamina]

In the end, Isaac's stats panel looked something like this.

Lusha had returned to the sky. She was silently observing Isaac while also looking around at the different parts of Eastfox city. Looking around the different parts of the city, Lusha could see many interesting things happening.

"Just as Lusha was about to inform Isaac about these dangers, something stopped her.

[Ding! The host is a Peak 7th order being. Please refrain from getting too much involved with lower order beings matters. If the host directly helps any lower being, the evolution system will have no choice but to punish the Host by taking away half of her powers.]

"Wh...What?" Even Lusha couldn't believe what she was hearing. But after a moment Lusha understood why the evolution system did this. If a peak 7th order being like her get involves with lower order beings matters, she would interrupt the flow of things. This was the trail that all lower being needed to face. So high-order beings like her should not get directly involved.

"Hehe!" Amidst the storm, there wasn't any being who heard the soft giggling sound that was no different from a melody.

"The system said directly. Of course, I am not going to get involved, 'directly'."

After using all of his free stats points, Isaac began reading the system logs.

[Ding! The host class Rune King has reached the max level of the current order. In order to enter the next order, the host must complete certain requirements.

- Evolve the Innate skill Rune Apprentice to second-order

- Increase the hose mana to [200+]

- Evolve the host's other two classes, the spearman, and Moon Marshal to second order.]

'I already have completed the first two requirements. With the Bracelet of Elf Emperor that gives me [20+] mana, my current mana is above [200+]. As for the third requirement, things might take a little time. Killing 20,000 mutant beasts is no joke.' Isaac had a feeling that if he enters the forest, there is a chance that he will counter not just second-order but also third and fourth-order mutant beasts.

While reading through his logs, Isaac reached the first base. Where Aleesia, the Mutant base member Luca were waiting for Isaac.

Aleesia had told Owens, Aymer, and Scarlett to stay at the Mutant Base. She did this to make sure the Mutant Base will be protected even if some zombies decided to attack the base.

"You're back." Luca couldn't hide his joy when he saw Isaac was back so quickly.

Isaac nodded his head and then took out the 7 dead bodies of the mutant wolves. While Isaac was doing that, Aleesia noticed the changes in Isaac's powers. Before Aleesia was able to sense Isaac's mana and would have some idea about Isaac's strength. But now she couldn't even sense Isaac's mana. It was like his Mana was an abyss.

"While you were away, we found managed to find a house that had 3 days' worth of grains in it. Now with the meat and grains, we won't have to worry about food for the next 6 to 7 days." Hearing Luca's words, the people sitting in the large room had their eyes shine brightly. The people of this base have been stuck in this dark large room for 2 days now. Unlike evolvers, ordinary people's bodies were weak. For these two days, they have been feeling hungry and cold.

Before Isaac arrived the atmosphere of this base was gloomy. But now this gloomy atmosphere has changed.

"We will fire to cook. I don't think we..." Luca interrupted Isaac with an exciting look. The reason he looked so excited was finally he would be able to feed his little daughter who has been hungry since yesterday.

"I will take care of everything." Isaac couldn't help but smile seeing how desperate Luca looked.

"What about the other base?" Isaac asked looking at Aleesia. But before Aleesia could reply, both Isaac and Aleesia were interrupted by an ugly pig.

"My stomach can't wait any longer. Hurry up and serve us food." Hearing these words, something was triggered in Isaac's mind. The coldness in Isaac's eyes started increasing as his entire body began to tremble in anger.
