Chapter 26 - Fighting seven second order wolves [I]

In the end, killing more than thousands of zombies helped Isaac level up his Rune King class to level 14.

The 10 meters wide road near the entrance, was now dyed in blood and corpses of more than thousands of zombies. Yet there wasn't even a single drop of blood on Isaac's body. Right after, Isaac finished killing all the zombies, he was reading his logs when he heard Lusha's voice.

"From where did you get your weapon?" Seeing Lusha's serious look, Isaac showed a smug expression on his face.

"It's a secret."

"Hmph! It's not like I wanted to know anyway. If you don't want to tell thats' fine by me. I just asked because the current you are not strong enough to even come near the Executioner of Nightmares." Isaac stopped reading through the logs and looked at Lusha.

"What do you mean by that? Can you explain more in detail?"

"Your weapon has the power to even seriously injure even a Peak 7th order. Since your current body is so weak, your weapon has sealed about 90% of its powers. Don't worry about it. As you grow stronger, your weapon will also keep unlocking more of its sealed powers." Isaac nodded with a sighed relief.

After Isaac killed thousands of zombies near the entrance, the number of zombies has significantly dropped, at least for now. Isaac knew that it was a matter of time before another horde of zombies led by a high-level zombie appears.

"Isaac, you're going to miss a good show if you don't go beyond these walls." Seeing that Lusha was not willing to explain much in detail and keeping things mysterious, Isaac decided to check out exactly what was going on.

Boom!

Beyond the high walls, there was a horde of zombies roaming around aimlessly. 100 meters away from the city walls, there were some figures who were fighting among themselves.

Bang!

If one looks closely enough then they would see 4 guard zombies whose levels were below level 30 fighting a group of 7 wolves. But there seems to be something special about each individual wolf. The group seems to listen to the order of a certain wolf, whose body was 5 meters in size and his entire body was shrouded in darkness.

The boss wolf's entire body, even its furs, and claws, everything was pitch black. There seems to be a black type of mist constantly coming off of the Boss wolf's body. It was like the wolf itself was made up of darkness and releasing a dark Aura into the atmosphere. When the zombie guards look at the Boss wolf, they would only see the red glowing eyes in that darkness which seems to send a chill down their spine.

The other wolves also had a unique look. Even though the other 6 wolves' bodies were also pitch dark, there seems to be a special kind of Rune on their forehead and on their backs. The color of the rune was different for every 6 wolves.

Compared to the wolves, the zombie guards looked like a bunch of kids. No matter how much the zombie guards tried to attack the group of wolves, their attacks would always fail.

Boom!

In the end, the boss wolf got bored and quickly finished the zombie guards. Then all the wolves started eating the zombie guards.

From the distance, Isaac and Lusha were watching this scene. For a normal human, in this storm, seeing something that was almost 100 meters away would be impossible but for Isaac whose, stats were many times stronger compared to an average human, allowed him to see things very clearly even in the storm.

"I thought zombie virus affects any living being."

"Not every living being. Only beasts, mutant animals, demonic creatures, etc are not affected by the zombie virus. But others like humans, demi-humans, dragons, and elves are affected by the virus."

"Never thought I would counter another Peak 2nd order being after killing a peak second-order human not too long ago. Before the apocalypse, this kind of encounter would be considered extremely rare if not impossible."

"You should get used to it. Back in the day, even an average citizen used to be 2nd order powerhouse. Now with the increase in mana in the atmosphere, you should expect to counter second order, third order, or even fourth-order beings on regular basis."

"Do you think if I hunt all 7 of these wolves, I would be able to solve the hunger issues of both bases?" Unconsciously or not, Isaac was slowly opening himself to Lusha even though he doesn't realize it.

"Well, if we're talking about a temporary solution then yes. You wouldn't have to worry about food for the next 3 to 4 days depending on the quantity of food consumed." Lusha then looked at Isaac who had his eyes set on the 5 meters tall Boss wolf who at this point had sensed Isaac and had his eyes locked with Isaac.

"Knowing that you're planning on hunting these, let me give you a piece of warning. This battle will be several times tougher than the battle you had with Xavion. This time you're not fighting one second-order being, instead you will be taking on multiple second-order wolves at the same time." Grabbing the Executioner of Nightmares, Isaac proceeded to jump from the high and tall walls.

"Those wolves should watch their necks. Because I won't be an easy target." Saying that without any worries in the world, Isaac jumped from the walls as the rain continued to fall on his body.

Looking at Isaac who was jumping from the walls that were 25 meters high, even a second-order being would have to worry about getting injured but Isaac didn't look the least bit worried about injuring himself.

'Isaac you're certainly an irregular being. Normally, a first-order being would never be able to defeat a second-order being unless the first-order being has some kind of powerful artifacts or tools that will boost his/her's powers. I admit that you have a weapon that can even seriously injure a peak existence of this world but taking on 7 second-order beings while being a first-order is completely crazy.' Lusha doesn't understand from where Isaac gets this confidence.

But remembering the battle with Xavion, she knew that Isaac had other secrets. One of these mysteries is how Isaac was able to increase his agility during the battle. Lusha purposely didn't ask something that might cause Isaac to become wary of her.

'For now, I will just observe him and see how he grows in the future.' As much as Lusha wanted, she forced herself to be patient and wait till the day when Isaac decides to tell her about his secret.

Jumping from a height of 25 meters, if it was before the apocalypse, would have been seen as an act of suicide. But the current Isaac, who once was so weak that even a regular man could beat him, now had turned into a beast with a monstrous amount of stats for a first-order being.

Bang!

Just when Isaac's two feet touched the ground, near the walls, the ground itself cracked creating something like a spider web on the ground.

Seeing Isaac jumping down, the boss wolf let out a loud roar as if telling the world about its next quest. After that, the 7 wolves, led by the 5 meters giant wolf charged toward Isaac.

Red light covered the Executioner of Nightmares. When the red glowing light around the EN disappeared, the weapon changed its shape to a dark red lance that was 1.5 meters tall and lightweight.

Boom!

The wind and the rain around Isaac vibrated violently the next second like a wind, Isaac shot toward the group of wolves.

In the rain, and the day that was dark as the night, Isaac moved like a lightning leaving behind a red trail of energy.

In less than 10 seconds, the wolves were only 10 meters away from Isaac. Seeing the Boss wolf whose level was Peak second order opening its mouth to fire an attack at Isaac, the vampire prince used his new ability.

Bang!

The Boss wolf was forced to kneel on the ground due to the sudden increase in his own weight that seems to have caught him off guard.

Gravity Manipulation!

Four of the wolves on the Boss wolf's right and left side, opened their mouth and fired a beam of red, purple, green and blue light at Isaac.

Seeing this Isaac quickly used gravity Manipulation to reduce his weight and then move to the right before all four beams of light could hit his body.

Boom!

Ignoring the explosion that took place 20 meters behind Isaac, he focused his eyes on the closet target that was the level 41 second order wolf that had red runes on his body.

As Isaac was about to thrust his lance forward, two figures suddenly without Isaac noticing emerged from his back. Just when the two wolves emerged from his back, Isaac sensed their presence, even though he didn't understand how the two wolves appeared behind him.

Seeing that both was wolf was about land their attacks on Isaac, he again used Gravity Manipulation on one of the wolf that slowed the wolf for a second.

Bang!

However, Isaac couldn't escape from the attack of the second wolf as a result there was a deep claw mark on Isaac's back.

Finding himself in a close situation where other 6 wolves was about to attack him, Isaac hurriedly changed the shape of his weapon to form a shield around himself while retreating back.

Booom!

All the 6 wolves together fired a beam of light that attacked the red shield around Isaac which pushed him back.

"It looks like these wolves can move through shadows." Things have gotten more difficult. No wonder Lusha was warning Isaac to have careful.
