Chapter 14 - Levis Leolen, Horned tribe people

Both Aleesia and Isaac moved towards the south direction hearing the scream. While moving, Isaac purposely kept his speed on [40+] and let Aleesia take the lead. Isaac didn't want Aleesia to know about his strength.

"What happened here?" Aleesia noticed that some zombies had managed to get into one of the houses. Aleesia could feel the presence of a human inside the house. Isaac who was 100 meters behind Aleesia, saw her jumping down and killing all the zombies.

"It looks like others also heard the scream." Isaac saw both Aymer and Elyon coming from two directions. Elyon looked at Isaac for a moment. No one knew what he was thinking while looking at Isaac.

Isaac, Aymer, and Elyon stood on the roof and waited for Aleesia. "What happened?" Aymer asked seeing Aleesia walking out of the house.

"There is a woman who managed to hide from the zombies in her house. Unfortunately, some zombies managed to enter her house and turned her into zombies. We were too late."

Hearing Aleesia's words, for a moment the atmosphere turned gloomy and sad. Aymer clearly looked sad. While Elyon and Isaac didn't care much about the death. The heart of ice skill kept Isaac's heart cold and allowed him to not get affected by his emotions in these kinds of situations. While Elyon was different from Isaac.

"I think we should return to the base.....Boom!

"Look" Isaac and others turned their heads in the north direction. Everyone saw a golden beam of light hit one of the houses which instantly destroyed the entire house.

As if everyone at that moment understood what needs to be done. Without saying any words, everyone shot forward, towards the north direction to see what just happened. Isaac purposely kept his speed limited to only [40+] and let others take the lead. Isaac did this to not expose his strength.

Aleesia was the fastest in the squad. Behind Aleesia, Elyong was moving the second-fastest. While Aymer and Isaac were moving at the same pace.

Within 5 minutes, the squad reached the place where they found a few destroyed houses and corpses of cultivators.

"What happened here?" Aymer expressed his curiosity while walking with Isaac. Alessia and Elyon walk to the front and try to find the person who probably has killed these cultivators.

'Strange, I don't see any zombies. What could happen here?' Isaac noticed that there were no zombies in the strange area. It was like all the zombies mysteriously disappeared.

Everything was strangely quiet. The only sound that can be heard in the area was the sound of the rain that showed no sign of stopping.

Walking on the debris of destroyed houses, Isaac tightly gripped his Executioner of Nightmare. Isaac for some reason felt that something was constantly watching them.

"Who are you?" As Isaac and others were walking on the debris of destroyed houses, they heard an exhausted sound of a man. Just hearing these three words caused everyone to stop moving.

Bang!

Isaac and others turned their heads to their right only to find a handsome-looking man with a 9 cm tall dark blue horn growing on the left side of his forehead.

"Are you also here to fight me?" The man gritted his teeth and held a 2 meters long old and rusty greatsword that was covered in red blood.

"Horned tribe people." Isaac looked at the man with various emotions. The horned race was a beastman race. It was said that the people of the Horned tribe were extremely loyal and wouldn't hesitate to use their lives to protect their loved ones. The horned tribe people are born with extraordinary strength and have iron-strong bodies. The horned Tribe people considered themselves a noble race and would never betray their kind. But sadly the tribe was on the brink of extinction due to various reasons. Finding a horned tribe of people is more valuable than finding a diamond in the desert.

Getting Horned tribe people's recognition is extremely hard. But once a human or other race people are recognized as the horned tribe people's friend, then the horned tribe wouldn't hesitate to even give up their life for the sake of their friend.

'I thought the horned tribe people moved away from Aetas Empire a long time ago. I wasn't expecting to find a horned tribe man here living in the slum here. "We're not here to harm you." Isaac tried to be gentle and not do anything that could potentially make the horned tribe man think that Isaac was lying and going to attack him. Isaac even put his Executioner of Nightmare down to show that he was not willing to hurt the horned tribe men.

"Really? Why I should believe in you human?" Isaac felt relieved seeing the horned tribe man lowering his greatsword. But then Isaac's eyes fell on Elyon who was slowly taking out a dagger from his back.

'This snake.' Isaac immediately moved and put his hand on Elyon's right shoulder. Elyon looked at Isaac. Seeing those cold and terrifying eyes that seems to penetrate through his soul, Elyon nodded his head and decided not to do anything.

"Who are you?"

"My name is Isaac, this is Elyong, she is Aleesia and the dude at the back is Aymer. We won't mean any harm to you. We are currently looking for people who survived."

Isaac could see that the horned tribe man looked very exhausted. From time to time, his hands would tremble as if he was struggling to keep holding the old and rusty greatsword.

"Please trust me this once. Let me help you. I promise you won't regret it." Even Isaac at that point wasn't sure why he was being so kind to the horned tribe man. Maybe it was because the horned tribe man's situation was similar to Isaac's. Both couldn't bring themselves to trust anyone.

Aleesia noticed the change in Isaac's character. His voice sounded warm and he looked really sincere.

Levis Leolen, that was the name of the man who was holding the old and rusty greatsword. Levis gritted his teeth in frustration. Levis and his sister both were captured at an early age and were forced to work in mines for hours. Every day both brother and sister would have to work 15 hours just to get enough food to fill their stomach. Fortunately, their never-ending nightmares ended when the evolution system came to this world.

But Levis and his sister's happiness didn't last long as a group of people came to take back their freedom once again.

But this time, Levis didn't let those men take away their most precious freedom from them. Levis fought and managed to slaughter the whole group.

"I want you to heal my sister." Levis looked really desperate when he said those words. Even though Levis didn't trust humans, at this point he had no choice but to rely on humans. All he can do is put his faith in his young man.

"Elyon take Aymer with you and return to the base. Inform Xavion what happened here." Isaac didn't consider Xavion as the leader. Isaac was not willing to work under someone. Aleesia, Aymer, and Elyon all three noticed the way Isaac addressed Xavion.

Elyon also noticed that Isaac was sending him and Aymer away. Earlier, Elyon was going to attack Levis if Isaac hadn't stopped him. Isaac doesn't trust Elyon. Isaac can never trust a snake. A snake can bite you can time.

"Okay, we will head back to the base." Elyon gave a disdainful and contempt look at Levis as if telling everyone that Elyon doesn't care about Levis and thinks of him as nothing more than a salve. Elyon and Levis then disappeared and left in the south direction.

Isaac could see that Levis was holding his anger. Horned tribe people were a proud race. They certainly didn't like to be looked down upon. Elyon just did that which made Levis boil in anger. "Ignore that snake. Snakes don't live long."

Levis was still looking at Isaac with caution. "Come with me." Dragging the greatsword, Levis took Isaac and Aleesia in the east direction. While following Levis, Isaac and Aleesia exchanged gazes. Aleesia wanted to know what Isaac was planning. Aleesia, since her birth was an observant girl, she noted even the smallest changes. Looking at Isaac's face, Aleesia was sure that Isaac was planning something.

After following Levis for 5 minutes, Isaac and Aleesia reached a house that was taller than other houses in the slum. The house was made up of bricks and mud.

Knock! Knock!

"Sister it's me. Open the door."

"Comi...cough....cough!" Isaac and Aleesia both looked at each other hearing the coughing sound of a girl.
