Limbo part I

The last memory I have is that I was in my room and had gone to sleep after a full day of college work and studies, or after another normal day. I was almost asleep when I felt a sharp pain in my chest and lost consciousness.

When I opened my eyes, I found myself sitting in front of a steel table in a closed white room, without knowing where I was. I tried to remember what had happened, but without much success, only being able to get flashes of some memories of my life, without being able to form a complete memory.

In front of me, there was a woman with black hair and dark brown eyes staring at me, waiting for me to compose myself to talk to me. She was dressed in a dark suit that fit her body perfectly. She had a serious face, with little emotion, as if she was already used to seeing this type of situation in her day-to-day life.

I, still confused, asked: "Where am I? What place is this?" But she still did not answer me and told me to calm down first so she could answer my questions. So, I breathed deeply and tried to calm myself as much as possible, saying to myself that it must be a dream and that soon I would wake up.

After a while, I managed to compose myself a little and, looking forward, I asked my questions to the woman again: "Excuse me, miss. Could you tell me where I am? And what am I doing in this room? And who are you...? "

The woman waited for me to finish speaking before answering: "Now that you have awakened and calmed down more, I hope you will continue to be calm. I will answer your questions as best I can."

Well, first I must tell you that you are in Limbo. This is where souls are directed to their next place of rebirth and Karma from your past life is calculated according to your actions. And I am one of the people responsible for guiding souls during their passage through Limbo.

...

After answering most of my questions, I was paralyzed for a few moments, because if what she said is true, it means that I died and now I have to start a new life again. So, I asked, "Miss, in this new life, will I still remember anything or will I start everything from scratch?"

As if she was waiting for this question, she said: "According to the person's Karma, they can choose some memories from their past life, and if the person's Karma is great enough, they may even have superpowers, since the worlds to which you may be sent may have people with superpowers and other magical abilities."

With this, I imagined, since I died...

...what kind of person I want to be in my next life, what kind of actions I want to take and how I want to live. The woman told me that I had the power to choose and that I would be given the opportunity to learn and grow in my next life. She also assured me that my time in Limbo would be brief and that I would soon be on my way to my next destination.

Feeling a mix of emotions, I thanked the woman for her explanations and for her guidance. She smiled at me and wished me good luck in my next life. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, ready to start anew.

With this, the story ends. The protagonist doesn't know what lies ahead, but he's open to the new opportunities and learnings that he will have in his next life, and he is eager to start it.
