Chapter 47. Rey 1

"I now get it. It is very smart of you," Alaric said facing his first defeat. He could say that it hurt his pride losing due to foolish act like that. Just getting carried away by a mere victory that meant nothing to him. But this victory meant a lot to Aurora.

He was going to suffer for this loss until he got a rematch which he was never going to get. It was going to be passed down generations that he lost to her.

"Its called a mind game, it not like i did not realize that you were trying to exhaust all my moves." Aurora started.

"Did you not want to play with me? I just obliged and played you in your small game. I also had a fun time attacking you while you were defending. At least I know where my attack power is," Aurora just turned away and started walking out of the Marshal Pit.

Alaric ran to catch up with her and after a small pause that lasted ten steps he spoke.

" Am planning to go put on a mission. I hear there is a hedgehog in the city causing disturbances. Its in the fifth stage. Hopefully I can take it down," Alaric said meekly expecting ridicule.

" Oh, you are already seeking out death because you got to the third stage," Aurora said her voice filled with jest.

" You know we can do it together. It might take a little time this way. We can split the points equally," Alaric tried to defend his actions indirectly.

"I would gladly say no and you would never succeed in making me say yes," she said with the same tone.

"I was actually planning to do it alone but I realized that you might need to hone your skills. Combat enables you to break the bottlenecks you are facing and you can easily get to the next stage during or after combat," he replied trying act hurt.

" Oh," Aurora replied with a new revelation. "But I can't go with this dress, you might as well have to wait for me to have a change of clothes," she said and started hurrying but Alaric stopped her.

"No need for that. You know you can just use your array to create new combat clothes," he said as she paused and looked at him.

" Not everyone is as talented as you in arrays. It might take me almost ten minutes to create a single glove," she sighed.

" Then let me do it for you," he said and without waiting for her response, he got to work.

On her both hands from the wrists, started getting covered with a black cloth that fit perfectly. The cloth kept rising reaching her elbow and once it reached her shoulder where her dress was strapped, the straps disappeared. Her dress would fall off...

Aurora almost ran away but she just crossed her hands on top of her breasts and held her dress tightly. Did she even give him permission to do anything? Yet he had taken matters into his hand and her dress almost dropped of. People were watching... She grit her teeth but feeling the eyes on them she could only blush profusely.

Before she realized it, the parts she was holding had disappeared and she was clutching on the violet cloth he was creating. Her eyes almost popped out when she saw this. Her dress should have fallen off already...

It was then that she realized it. He was not that naive. He had considered everything. They were in public and he could not shame her even when alone. She was the one who was naive thinking he would something foolish.

In ten seconds, the white dress that accentuated from her waist and reached her knees had fully disappeared and the whatever he was creating was finished. It reached her ankles and the heeled shoes she had been wearing were replaced with black rubber shoes.

It was a military attire like that of modern times. It was black and had pockets on its sides and some on the hands. On the waist was a belt that she could use to strap a sword or any weapon. It fit her perfectly and gave a comfortable feeling.

Her face had regained its color but she was still annoyed with him.

"You should have waited for me to agree," she said not hiding her annoyed tone.

"It would have worked the same way, did you not say that you could have said yes?" Alaric asked and she was silent for a while.

It seemed that only Rey would beat him in a battle of words. The two could take words from your mouth and twist them in any way they wanted against you. Infront of the two, one was supposed to choose their words carefully.

"You sure you want to go out on the mission with those jeans? I bet they are a hindrance," she said as she walked forward. Alaric almost gasped. The attire brought out her body perfectly accentuating her hips. It really gave her the figure 8.

He pulled himself from his stupor and his only question was how he had failed to notice her all those years. She stopped around ten meters away after she realized that he was not following. She turned around and glanced at him with a smile that planted itself in his memory forever.

He hurried and stopped next to her. She gave him a look like an elder sister looking at the disobedient young brother. Alaric smiled sheepishly as his jeans disappeared in an instant and he was suddenly wearing black sweatpants. Though he did not change his shoes and blue shirt.

She just shook her head realizing how easy it was men to get changed. They headed to the gate but one could not miss them. Many did not recognize Aurora at first glance. Alaric was quite not that famous because he had no backing. But he was the reason they recognized Aurora.

Whatever they were talking about was very important but the giggles from Aurora said otherwise. They first reached the library. They had realized that the needed weapons. It was Alaric actually who insisted on getting the axes he had used.

She waited for him at the entrance. Her technique involved one abandoning every weapon and creating one for yourself. It took him around five minutes before he came back. They then walked to the gate and the gateman who recognized Alaric shook his head. This guy was quite interesting. How was he easily walking side by side with the princess?

Many men would be slightly shaking due to her aura that demanded for purity. It also made one have the feeling to want to do anything she asked them. Even some girls would not be lucky fo not fall for her aura. He even stopped his thoughts when he heard her giggles.

"Interesting." He said nodding his head.

The two paused for a while and in a distance, they could see an approaching guy. He was standing at 6' and even from the distance, they could make out exactly who the guy was. By the time he was around twenty meters away and one could see his shaggy reddish black hair and his sunken brown eyes.

One could also not miss the swollen parts of his face and his upper lip appeared slightly swollen. His clothes appeared to be torn amd tattered like he had collected them from a trash can but they actually were his own. On his hand was a sword two meters long but it appeared bloodied.

He was also missing one shoe. His expression seemed unclear. One could not really tell if he was angry or in pain or happy to see them. If one looked at his nails, they would not miss they were bloodied. Also his clothes leaked a bloody smell. One might actually think he was run over by beasts.

This guy was Rey. It was no secret that he had been run over by beasts or had fought a bloody battle. Alaric could not wait to hear of Rey's adventure. He pulled him to the grass on the side of the road to the same point they had sat on that fateful day.

Rey was going to have to recount to them what happened. He could only smile bitterly but that seemed to cause him pain and that was Alaric's source of joy.

"Five days ago..."

'Alaric has been cultivating for a month and two weeks now. I know that he is going to have a major breakthrough,' Rey thought as he woke up from Alaric's bed. He slid into a pair of slippers and went to his room.

Later he came out dressed in black sweat pants and shirts and rubber shoes. He picked a red backpack and headed to the library's missions hall. He was going to take a mission to brag about after Alaric came from his cultivation.

He stared at the available missions. He was still in the first stage but he had caught up with Aurora. Soon he would be entering the second stage and catch up with Alaric. He knew that one better way to speed your breakthrough was by battles.

He was sure that after this battle, he was going to break into the second stage in a week of two. He picked a mission that involved fighting beasts. The mission was simple. He was taking the challenge to fight a second stage beast while he was still in the first stage.

The reward was also enticing. 400 points was more than he could ask for. Not that he usually read books that he would need them urgently. He went to the female attendant who gave him the mission with a smile on her face.

He could not help but smile back. His charm was working. He also was taking a mission of a higher level than his which was cool. He went to the weapons room and stood there for a while as his eyes landed on his favourite weapon. As he grew older and stronger, his father would personally forge him a sword.

He picked a large sword that was two meters long. The sword curved slightly and it had only one side sharpened. The sword fit perfectly into his hand and his heart palpitated as his blood flared up as his eyes glowed with yellow flames. This was the weapon that had been trained into his body since he could hold one.
