Chapter 46. Spar 2

Alaric was once again caught off guard. A circular shadow loomed over them. But it was fit to say him because the inscription's core was right above his head. He now realized it.

She was not giving him time to get rid of her attacks but she was buying time to build strength for her next attack. How could he have missed her drawing the inscription?

Well there was no time to think. The big smile on her lips showed just how eager she was to end him. Alaric could only blame himself. Was he not the one who was underestimating her?

Had he taken her like an opponent maybe he would not get caught off guard each time. He could see the core of the inscription lighting.

"INFERNAL ICE," Aurora said said as shards of ice emerged from the center of the inscription.

They could be termed as shards of ice but they actually had the appearance of snow flakes. Their edges were razor sharp that they shone with a white light. The thing was that they were appearing in numbers that reached thousands.

Her expression appeared calm and she directed the ice shards towards him. They moved at a speed that would most likely cause them to melt but they did not.

She made them go round in all directions and made them encircle him. One could hear them produce a clattering sound like glass continously breaking. A sudden wind had appeared and seemed to be blowing her hair.

The clattering continued and one could see that there was no escape route. Again, Alaric realized that had she been in his level, he would have no choice but forfeit. To anyone of her level of her level, she was invincible.

The ony reason Alaric had allowed himself to get trapped was so that he would test the attack power. Well, had he been caught off guard, even with his higher cultivation, he would have definitely lost.

She was only few steps away from getting to the second stage but her attack power almost reached that of someone of the third stage. He could not help but wonder how powerful she was going to be in the future.

It was time to counter attack. Defending it would only be waste of time. Alaric mainly used his lightning for defense and attacked his physical strength. He let lightning cover his body as he built enough energy and released his attack on the ice.

The lightning appeared in a dome like manner and started growing outside. It did not spare a single ice shard as it destroyed all of them. The dome expanded and finally stilled few inches away from Aurora.

He stood there with a domineering aura as he waited for her next attack. He knew that she had only a single move left. He saw her open her hands and the inscription glowed and his worse nightmare appeared.

Th large six meter sword appeared and lay horizontally.

"ICE CARNAGE: FIRST FORM, FLUID SWORD," Aurora spoke and at the moment, she appeared like an ice queen. The sword separated into the hundreds of small swords and they were on the move.

They went around him and past him. They reached the distance of around 100 meters and built enough momentum. They then separated in all directions and she directed them at him with a speed that only the ice shards could reach.

He was completely surrounded by the swords each pointing a vital organ. He just was not sure the best way to deal with it. He could just use the method he used to destroy the ice shards but he wanted to try another way.

He had to test their speed. He built up enough energy and directed the lightning to his muscle fibres and nerves and cells. His feet were laced with lightning and his eyes shone with a silver light like lightning dancing in his eyes.

The speed made him appear like a streak and Aurora was barely keeping up with his speed. She directly understood what his actions were. She directed her swords and chased after him.

The swords could barely keep up and even at their top speed, the distance between them kept increasing and in a minute of chasing, he appeared behind them. It appeared like he was the one running after them.

He stopped and looked at Aurora who had an ugly expression. She had been trying to catch up with his speed but it turned out that she was still slow. She let the swords move forward before making a sharp turn and charged at him.

If he had stopped, then he was waiting for her attack to destroy it. This time, she did something she had not done before. The inscription glowed and a green light came from it and headed for the swords.

The swords which had been all snow white, gained some green patterns on their center. The swords merged and formed ten swords that were a meter long and 8 centimeters wide.

They separated and surrounded him in a distance of ten meters away from him and stopped. The swords appeared beautiful but how could something that can kill be termed so?

The swords glowed and charged and as they were five meters away, they disappeared. Alaric was dazed. He knew that they had not disappeared but were still charging at him with the same speed.

He could also tell that their speed had increased. He could only thank his new skill, instinct. He could feel their every movement bit one was already missing. There were nine swords charging at him and one, he could not feel it.

The swords were inches aways and he created a lightning dome like the first time. The energy he put in saw an increase as the swords were more powerful than the ice shards. He easily destroyed the swords but he was still wary.

The tenth sword was still out there and he could still not sense it. It was then he felt a cold sweat trickle down his back and the hair rise. He could feel that death was looming over him.

It took him his entire speed to evade the sword that was striking straight at his head with an unprecedented speed. Had he reacted slowly, he would have lost his head. The sword had missed him with a hair's breadth.

He had evaded it but his t-shirt had not been as lucky. He had charged forward and the sword had grazed his back and cut his shirt at the back up to his waist. Had he not been fast, maybe his pants would also have been destroyed.

The sword struck the ground and pierced quarter way into the floor. He knew that had it not been for his instinct, he would have missed the swords number. Not many usually paid attention to numbers but he had been addicted to counting things since young.

He appeared infront of her almost ten meters away. He ripped his shirt off revealing his tonned torso and his abs. His biceps were muscled and appeared exactly what someone who always worked out should.

Aurora looked away but could she get rid of the image she had planted in her mind with that single glance.

"Put on some clothes," Aurora spoke. She watched him create another one and put it on.

She had exhausted all her best moves and she knew that he was going to act. But she still had an ultimate trump card which she knew was not going to fail her. She saw him lift his index finger and a thin lightning thread that moved in a zigzag manner reached her forehead and struck.

She did not feel anything but also she could not move. She now knew what he had done. He was interfering with her brain coordimation by hindering its nerves. She could only stare at him waiting for her final move.

Alaric saw the battle had ended and he had immobilized his opponent. He walked to her with a smile.

"You could barely put up a fight, I did not even break a sweat trying to defend your attack. I did no even use my full... but you really have something against my head..." Alaric paused.

It could not be that she had taken the attack on purpose to draw him into a trap right? Why had she not bothered to defend? He released her and she could finally move. Also she had destroyed her inscription.

"You lost, very sad after you used all your powerful attacks," Alaric said not even proud of his victory.

If he had fought back, he could be said that he was bullying her. It was then that he looked around and saw that a group of almost twenty had been watching. One thing each noted was that he had used only a single move and defeated her. He also did not use his full strength.

"You know, I can't even be peoud of my victory. The fight ended the moment it started. I had figured almost a hundred ways to end you," Alaric said as he stopped inches from her. She had lost but she was just smiling. He could only thank her open mind for understanding her weakness and accepting it.

"What victory are you talking about?" Aurora asked still smiling.

"You are still not accepting defeat? I won't mind going for a second attack," Alaric said but the look Aurora gave him was that when staring at fool making useless remarks.

"I wonder who amongst us is not accepting defeat. Do I have to break down every bit of information for you?" Aurora spoke and Alaric still had that confused expression still wondering where this was headed.

"You know you are quite slow for someone with 100% awakened brain. You actually lost!" Aurora spoke sneering at him.

" So you are not going to accept defeat?" Alaric asked. How had they started arguing? Because she had lost and wanted to pin the loss on him? Girls really were a tough nut to crack.

"Very confident from someone who broke the rules and claiming victory. I really commend your foolishness," Aurora said he tone filled with disdain.

" What are you trying to..." Alaric stopped. He really had fallen into her trap. It was then that he created rule number four. "Never brag after victory". She had lured him to talking before the battle ended by lowering her guard. How could he fall for that?
