Birthday Invitation

Wei Yue was talking to Wei Cheng about her upcoming birthday party before she was shoved out of the way by someone she didn't recognize.

"He-"

Wei Yue was cut off before she could get a single word out as Wei Cheng yelled across the room at the stranger. Wei Yue stood back watching.

Wei Yue watched the stranger take Jin Jiang's seat intently.

She found him to be better looking than the other males in the outer sect. His facial features feminine yet handsome, every movement flowed with a hint of grace, even the way his robes flowed as he moved had an air of elegance.

The longer Wei Yue looked, the more she was drawn into this stranger's image. Jin Jianyu was completely unaware that his fellow classmates were starting to notice his changes.

"Who is that?"

"He's so handsome."

"Right? How come I haven't seen him before?"

"I wonder if he's taken."

Wei Yue continued to stare, thinking she wanted to know as well.

Wei Yue found herself gazing into his green eyes that glittered gold under the rays of sun peaking through the classroom windows. As she was looking he looked back and smiled slightly before returning his attention to Wei Cheng.

Wei Yue had been cultivating for years. However, in that brief moment felt her heart rate increase, and cheeks flush. Even if only for a moment, it happened. Then like a ton of bricks smacking her in the face, she went ice cold when her brain registered what the stranger said.

"I'm Jin Jianyu."

'Jin Jianyu!? Bullsh*t. There is no way someone this handsome could be Jin Jianyu! It must be a lie. I would never have feelings for trash like Jin Jianyu. Right?' Wei Yue thought to herself before the stranger claiming to be Jin Jianyu proved himself to be Jin Jianyu.

'I refuse to believe that's Jin Jianyu. He even said Wei Cheng and I helped? This must be a ruse. He must have hired an actor to play a trick on us. How dare Jin Jianyu try to make a fool of us.' Wei Yue thought as she took her seat.

'Hmph. ' Wei Yue looked back at the stranger thinking that this was the perfect opportunity to get Jin Jianyu kicked from the sect. She found their eyes lock and snapped her head forward blushing. 'Enjoy this moment, Jin Jianyu, because this will be your last day in the Joyous Mountain Sect.'

「 23 hours left. 」

Jin Jianyu looked at the translucent blue window that appeared in the corner of his vision before sighing. This time the system was too harsh. He thought that the previous quest was bad, but nothing could have prepared him for what he had to do this time.

Right as Jin Jianyu was about to ask the system to open the status menu the teacher spoke up again.

"The top ranking student in the class will receive a martial yin pill. For everyone in this class this pill will provide huge benefits to breaking through." The teacher said, stroking his beard. "I hope everyone will work hard."

'Hm. Now that I've achieved the first stage, perhaps this could help me break through to the second stage of Martial Warrior!' Jin Jianyu thought before realizing something very critical. 'Wait. "Don't think for a second that I believe you or even want you at my party. My father asked me to invite everyone in class. So don't miss it." Wei Yue said before tossing an invitation towards Jin Jianyu.

Jin Jianyu looked down at the invitation and picked it up. It was elegant and refined just like Wei Yue. It even had a slight fragrant smell of roses. The lettering on the invitation was for Wei Yue's birthday party at the General's palace.

"N-" Jin Jianyu looked up and started to reject Wei Yue before hearing the sound he started to dread.

「 New Quest: Eat a piece of Three Mountains Velvet Ice Cake at Wei Yue's party. 」

「 Rewards: Unknown. 」

「 If the user fails to complete the quest they will lose all sensation in their little member. 」

"Hello? Are you slow? I'm speaking to you." Wei Yue said, slamming her hand on his desk reclaiming Jin Jianyu's attention.

Something's off. Wei Yue would never want me to attend her party. Even if her father told her to ask everyone in the class. She must be up to something. If so, I might as well use this opportunity to complete two quests and humiliate her. Two birds, one stone as they say.

"F-Fine." Wei Yue said looking away. Her cheeks warm to the touch.

"Hurry up." Jin Jianyu said, walking away.

Wei Yue hurried after Jin Jianyu. Something she thought she'd find herself doing.
