Hu Lihua

When Noah told them in brief about Rita's condition , Yuchen Mo just sighed and gave Rita's head forehead a touch as if to check her temperature . He grew worried , but knowing his daughter , He knew that's he would be hellbent on going to the office to get her work done .

And true to what he was thinking , Rita stood up as soon as he was placed on the bed by Noah , as she tried getting her legs steady and headed towards the door .

"Where do you think you're going , Rita ? Don't tell me that you'll be going to the office for work in such a condition ."

"Obviously , I have to go . It's my responsibility . What will everyone think that I'm just having a bit of cough and cold and I am resting at home , just because of this silly reason . I can't bother to take care of such trifle matters now . I need to go ."

Noah grabbed Rita by her wrist and pulled her back to him , so she was now facing him . Noah looked down at Rita as he said ,

"I won't let you go in such a condition , Can't you see that your family is also worried about you ?"

Rita turned towards the other side of the room to see her grandpa and father standing and watching her throw a tantrum to go to office . They were watching as if trying to plead her to kindly listen to Noah and stay at home .

Seeing the persistence of the three men , she sighed and just raised her white flag in defeat . She quietly went to her bed and covered herself up till the abdomen with blanket and said , "But I'll continue working from home . I can at least do that much ."

The three men were happy that Rita was staying at home and so , they decoded to grant her wish for working form home .

Yuchen Mo hastily called on the family doctor to help Rita with the medications and Rita could only sigh in defeat over the three men caring for her . Her mother too came running in her room as she heard the commotion at the upstairs after having come from outside , after buying the groceries early in the morning .

"How are you , Rita baby ? I got the wind tat you've caught a cold . Let me get you some ginger soup for you . It'll help you with your throat ."

Rita , who was getting examined , suddenly felt like crying seeing her mom worry for her as she remembered her mom taking care of her when she was small , she felt like she had been teleported to those days .

Seven years away from home , in an unknown far land , where Rita was sought to learn her ways of living , she used to cry at nights , remembering her family .

Whenever she got ill , with only the doctors to take care of her at home and a butler to get her everything timely , she was filled with a void that she had learnt to hide behind a happy smiling mask . She could feel the warmth of family from people there but not the actual one that a mother gives her child , the warmth and worry creases on her father's forehead and the worry wrinkles lining her grandpa's face .

She didn't like to worry them but she did like their love that oozed out and covered her up in a blanket of care and warmth , making her feel secure and loved by all . She was thankful to it all , and so she drank away all the stray thoughts of the past and the nights of crying as she gave her mom her best smile and nodded her head in approval .

Rita worked from home all day . With occasional medications , by sunset , she was almost as good as before with just the side shows of cough and cold that may a few days . She was relieved that finally she'd be able to go back to the office tomorrow .

Reading through the last email for the night , Samuel was interrupted in his work by a soft knock at his study door . He resumed his work after conveying that the door was open , not realising the presence of someone else too .

When he raised his eyes , he was utterly surprised to find his childhood friend standing there .

He stood up from his seat and closed up his laptop as he made his way towards Hu Lihua .

Hu Lihua had expected Samuel to come running up to her and hug her tight but since that didn't happen , she hid her slight disappointment behind her brightest smile .

Hu Lihua and Samuel had been friends since their childhood along with Shen Yu and Su Yan . The four of them had been best of friends and always used to hang around together . since Hu Lihua had many abilities in common to that of Samuel , both were considered to be a perfect match and hence childhood sweethearts .

Samuel stod in front of his childhood friend and then did he realise that his parents were standing at the door peering him from the nook of the door . He could only sigh as he led Hu Lihua to the main hallway .

IN THE HALLWAY

Samuel and his parents were present along with Hu Lihua and her parents . It had been a long time since the two families had a re-union as such and so the elders got themselves busy with their own conversation and left the children to fend off to themselves .

Hu Lihua was not just beautiful from outside but was also a very talented girl since young age . This was one of the reason why many boys were fond of her but she was only friends with Samuel Chen , Su Yan and Shen Yu .

Hu Lihua looked straight at Samuel with an expression of getting out of the place of elders , giving him a hint that she wanted to get out of the place and get some fresh air .

Considering it his hosting duty to show her around the mansion ,Samuel got up and expressionlessly helped her with the mansion tour .

After a brief tour , they settled at the garden bench where Hu Lihua started off first

"How have you been all these years, Samuel ? "

"Fine ."

"Hmm… it's been so long that we've met . Remember when we were children and used to hang out together ."

"Yeah , I do ."

Hu Lihua noticed that Samuel had grown considerably distanced with her , which upset her a bit . So she pouted and asked him in an offended and upset tone , "What's up with you , Samuel ? Do you not like the fact that I'm back in the country ?"
