Down with fever

Noah gulped down the contents of the glass in one go and just shrugged off the awkwardness that he was feeling .

How could he afford to feel awkward in presence of his best friend , he couldn't risk her to know what daydream he just had , could he ?

Rita would never stop teasing him and moreover , she would even be possibly starting to make distance with him .

Noah then got up from his seat , masking his awkwardness . The previous expression of sudden surprise and shock along with some mixed emotions were wiped off from his face and in that place . acme back the cool and smiling face back on .

Rita , who observed his expressions was almost starting to think if whatever emotions variation she saw on his face a moment , were just her hallucination or was it real , but she just let go of the feeling .

"Are you sure that you're okay ?" Rita asked Noah a bit worriedly .

''Obviously , I'm . I was pranking you darling .''

''Who is your darling?? '' Rita scoffed off , getting into lighter mood now that she almost forgot about whatever happened moments ago .

After having some more light conversation with Rita , Noah took his leave as he to had go and look back at his work .

Rita slightly sighed and went back to her seat after she saw him off .

Employees who saw Rita seeing Noah off, often , thought that she might be involved with the young and handsome man as his girlfriend and maybe , they had some 'alone time ' to spend in the office for a while . The love birds . Some female workers , even developed a secret crush on Noah , thinking that he might be single , but to their dismay , he was already 'taken' , according to the rumours in the office .

These rumours were soon drowned down when Rita who got the wind of it all , soon brushed off the title of being his girlfriend . She just said that he was her friend from America and nothing more . He was more like a brother to her .

She didn't want her parents or grandpa to have the wind of such a silly rumour , or else her family , especially her grandpa will go frenzy with excitement and try to match her up with Noah .

Noah , who just landed out form the office headquarters of Mo corps , heaved a

sigh of relief that he didn't know for how long he had been holding .

Samuel was busy these days with his upcoming project and that explained why he didn't hang out with his elite friends for a while . he thought to give them a together party after the deal will be sealed , more appropriately the historical business deal .

The upcoming days took a bit of toll on Rita as she seemed to have developed a cold .

Last night she was sneaking into the kitchen for some ice cream treat and there she spotted Noah , already eating the scoop of it with her grandpa .It was getting chilly and she wondered , if it would be alright for her have ice cream this anyway but she just gave in to the temptation , as she joined the small squad and had her heart full of favourite chocolate and butterscotch ice cream for midnight snacks .

And here she was , down with a sore throat and cracked voice .

AT THE BREAKFAST TABLE

"Noah , please pass .. cough uhmmmm… me the butter ."

"Pfft , hahahha…. What happened to your voice , Rita . You sound like squeaky man with cracked voice ."

"Can't you …uhhmmmm…" Rita cleared her throat and continued ,

"Can't you see that I have landed myself with the cold , I guess the weather is changing ..uhhmmm cough cough cough ."

Rita suddenly choked on her food and started coughing .Noah who was listening to her intently , quickly came to his senses and used his reflexes and passed the water to her and helped her with it by stroking and patting her back continually .

Noah watched Rita , intently drinking water and gulping down the water through her throat . He suddenly felt shy and embarrassed over his dirty side of mind .

He internally chided himself , to not think of Rita this way , at least not like this , for the sake of his love for her .

After Rita subsequently calmed down a bit , she stood up to get to her work , but suddenly felt dizzy as he stumbled over her steps . Thanks to Noah , who caught her in time , or else she might have already hit herself face on , on the floor . Rita stayed a bit lazily in arms of Noah to steady herself . She didn't feel any kind of embarrassment from him like that ,

After all he was like a good friend and a brother to her .

But Noah ,suddenly felt his heart flutter even at such a small gesture . He couldn't show it on his face , not when he was worried for Rita , but he couldn't stop a little smile to break on his face . But soon kit was replaced with concern , when he felt Rita getting hot . He could feel her temperature rise . He swiftly took her in his arms in princess style and took her towards the stairs to get her to her room .

But Rita suddenly tried to break free from him .

Noah looked down upon the little woman in his arms and he could see her eyes giving him a questioning look as if to asking him to keep her down and let go of her .

''What ..you're having fever , Rita .Do you think that you'll be going to the office in this condition ? Hell no , I won't let you . ''

And Noah continued walking , unbothered with Rita's struggles to break free .

Rita who was in his arms , started to struggle harder and gave him punches , since she couldn't get this strength to push him the right way to get her down.

But she couldn't break free, no matter what she did . His grip on her was just too iron tight .

Elder Mo and Yuchen Mo , who saw them coming down the hallway , rushed up to them .

When Noah told them in brief about Rita's condition , Yuchen Mo just sighed and gave Rita's head forehead a touch as if to check her temperature . He grew worried , but knowing his daughter , He knew that she would be hellbent on going to the office to get her work done .
