His eyes studied the place briefly before walking towards Shao Ran's table. His face light up immediately he reached the place.

Everyone thought that he was here for the belle of the school as the rumours had it that they were a thing. She even boasted of how they spent their time together. They started murmuring to themselves.

"Wow! I thought that the rumours between Ruby and this guy was fake! it turns out to be true!"

"She's really lucky to have a smart guy like him as a boyfriend!"

"I wish that I were in her shoes!"

"I am not sure what to say but they hit it off rather odd."

"Shut up you! She's the daughter of the principal who is the girlfriend of the city's best student!"

"Sigh! I guess this one is taken after all..."

"look on the brighter side! The number one school heartthrob is still available!"

"You girls are so hopeless! What's so special about these boys?" A boy complained.

"You wouldn't understand."

Ruby's face turn pink as she shyly spoke aloud. " Brother Chen... it's been a while..." She enjoyed the compliments thrown to her. This was just too good to be true.

He paused for a second. Who was this girl? Oh wait... she's the girl who had worked on a science fair project with his team. The daughter of that fat bellied principal.

She had kept on talking throughout the whole time, pestering him without contributing much and annoyingly ordering his teammates around. What was her name again... was it Ron Chan or Chan something?

Whatever. He came to eat from his little friend Shao Ran.

"Little Ran Ran I heard you made scones today? I'll try some please." He ignored Ruby and bent a little to face Shao Ran who was sitting down with her head down. She looked up at him clearly shocked at the way he addressed her and he smiled softly.

That seemed to silence everyone and slap Ruby so hard on her face that she teared up angrily. But she gritted her teeth and spoke again loudly.

" Brother Chen... these scones are dirty and made with poor ingredients... why don't I order a cheesecake from Eleanor restaurant".

Everyone present were not surprised to hear her offering to order a cheesecake from the best confectionery in town. If she asked them, they'll agree ( me too). Unfortunately this was another person.

He didn't even know that she was talking to him as he picked up a scone and bite into it. His eyes were brightly shining and he complimented.

"Little Ran Ran,I never knew that you could bake! Can you make for me tomorrow, please?"

Shao Ran who felt deflated suddenly looked up at him in suprise. This boy never use to spend time with her at all. He always used to pass with a "Hi" "Hello" and a "Bye".

Everyone were stunned as well as Ruby by his second disregard. She quickly took the pitiful approach.

"Brother Chen...is it because I annoyed you that you choose to disregard me like this? What happened to the times we..." She softly spoke with teary eyes and everyone understood what was going on.

Ah. So that was it. Couples fight...

This time around,he heard her clearly and turned to look at her. What was going on with this girl that loves to talk too much? When did she annoyed him?

"Umm... you are?...Is it Chan something or was it Ronnie Chan? I don't know you and were we friends before or something?" He rubbed his chin deep in thought as he asked. He didn't understand why they were giving him those weird looks.

That was the last straw as Ruby suddenly fossilized there. She was beyond angry at the way he disregarded her and didn't even remember her. So all those times she had wasted on that stupid science project in other for him to like her were for nothing?!

She gritted her teeth and glared at Shao Ran as she heard the criticism from everyone as they realised the truth of the matter. The boy's expression didn't lie.

"So all this while we've been treated as fools by this pitiful person?!"

"What an epic news!"

"Idol Chen never knew her at all or even her name!"

"First she was rejected by the number one school heartthrob and prince... now she was disregarded by the school star intellectual!"

"She's just despicable!"

"Sitting in this cafeteria was worth it!"

"Yeah! I wished I had a popcorn to watch this!"

"Burn!..."

Ruby angrily strode off with her girls behind her in shame. She will make Shao Ran pay for this humiliation. How dare she seduce her man to forget her like that!

She ran into the girl's toilet and leaned back against the wall with her friends. They were all angry at the girl called Ran.

"I'll do something about that girl!" she spat while hurling her powder mirror on the wall and it broke. They were startled by her brute force.

This kind of person was dangerous most of the times. They prefer things to go their way. If it doesn't,they throw blame at the weaker ones even when they are clearly wrong.
