"I do have a child but not in the way you think." after I heard these words, I froze for a split second before nodding.

I couldn't say anything else and just sat still. When the silence got unbearable, I stood up and began to pack the plates.
Gerard was still on his phone while I parked the plates and headed straight for the kitchen.
