Chapter 15: Jacque

In the eye of City A, the strongest evolved zombies, and other monsters gather that no awakened who is sane will try to roam the city. Zombies are labeled from weakest to strongest base on the color of their crystal core. The crystal cores can be seen on their forehead.

White is the weakest level of zombies which is called normal zombies. Blue is the next level which is stronger than normal zombies but can be killed by normal humans using weapons like guns. The next one is yellow which is on par with the evolved humans. Then followed by the orange zombies that are stronger than most awakened humans; on par with the enhanced evolved humans and those talented evolved humans. The last one is the red zombies. No one has ever fought a red zombie since they are not leaving City A and even inside City A, red zombies are not roaming; they like to stay in their territory.

Once the city has a red zombie, it will be tagged as a red zone which means that it is not safe even for evolved persons.

"Why did Master send me here, and what should I look for? The only evolved human who dared to wander around City A. She is thinking about what her master has eaten to give her a vague mission of looking for something here in the city without telling her what it is. Her name is Jacque, and she is powerful.

She is in the outskirts of the city yet a bunch of strong zombies are everywhere. Conserving her energy, she did not engage in a fight but sneakily roam around.

Yellow zombies are like normal zombies in the city. If yellow zombies are hardly seen in other zones, here, yellow zombies are everywhere. It is too difficult to fight them in groups.

Data of the city is the most important thing for Jacque in order to freely do her task. In some circumstances, she fights yellow zombies. She examines each building especially hospitals to check if there are useable laboratories.

Her master likes to experiment on zombies like it is his hobby; he finds joy in it. At the back of Jacque's mind, his master can put an end to this apocalypse but he choose not to.

As she keeps on searching, in a far distance, she found a hospital that has not been ruined. The wall is like a newly painted and it seems to be running like there are doctors and patients. She is taken aback of what she saw because everything should be in ruins run with zombies.

She put on her binoculars to find out what is going on in that hospital. The moment she focused her gaze on the entrance, she saw some zombies working like hospital staff. Zombies should no longer have intelligence. How come they are working? Is there something that controls them?

Aside from amazement, she felt scared a little. She did not wander and go deeper in the city for the fear that something powerful is lurking in.

With what she finds questionable in those zombies action, she plans to sneak in at a distance to gather more information.

"Is this what master wants me to find? " Jacque remembers her mission that is to find something or maybe someone. Who knows? Her master never specified it.

Sun goes down and the dusky sky appears. 'It will be dark soon; I need to find a shelter.' She look for a safe place to sleep for the evening. It is in a big supermarket where she stays. The place is safe when she used her skill to detect any zombies around the area. There are food that can satisfy her hunger.

Sleep like a log is what she wishes to have. She has not slept soundly since she entered the city due to the fact that the place is a red zone and she needs to be vigilant. Her eyes close when the evening hums like a mother singing lullaby to put her child to sleep.

'grrrr' a sound of a lone zombie that has a strong sense of smell found Jacque inside the supermarket. This zombie is a yellow zombie which is considerably strong.

The sound wakes her up ang she got mad. Annoyed as she is because her sleep was disturbed, 'cinder' she cast a spell that incinerated the zombie. 'I do not have time for you. I better go back to sleep.' She goes back sleeping like nothing happened.

Morning comes and the bright day welcomes her as she have a sound sleep that night. She packed everything she needed and started walking to sneak in at the hospital. She already has planned everything. The entrance is packed with zombies however in the parking area, there are fewer zombies wandering there so that is where she will be sneaking in.

The hospital is just two hundred meters away from her when suddenly she saw a man fighting some zombies one meters away from her.

'Oh! He is good.' She stopped and looked at the young man who is unlucky to meet a group od yellow zombies. 'What is that skill? He uses water like it is part of his body and he is also extending it to fight in a distance. Amazing!'

'I will take this time to infiltrate the hospital while the zombies are distracted by that young man. Thank you.' She ran at the basement in the parking area.

The elevator is not working so she has to take the stairs. Thankfully, there are no zombies on the stairs. She arrived on the first floor and she noticed that there are people working inside. They are probably doctors since they are wearing a doctor's gown, white coat.

She used conceal, a spell that is the same with Vinci's spell that hides her aura and even her breath from the people around. Hospital's walls are white so she needs to blend in so that the cameras will not catch her.

Writing everything she noticed is the best thing to do in order to relay the situation to her master with accuracy. While she is writing, a man arrived at the Hospital's entrance, this is the man who fought a group of zombies that she saw when sneaking in.

Her jaw dropped when she saw what happened. The zombies were respectful to him as if he is their boss. 'What is going on? Is this hospital run by him?' Why did he fight those zombies? I should not be caught.' She left the hospital and run away. She felt that the man is dangerous.

'I need to tell master about it. I will not go back here unless he is with me.' She left the suffocating hospital. The atmosphere was suffocating; feels like someone's is hiding his aura but it is leaking and this aura is powerful that it suffocates her.

'What? You know him?'
