To Be Sold Like A Common Beast-II

"Holy shit!"

"Oh, so it talks," the higher demon said in a tempting tone. Kai almost felt he would go into a trance. There was no magic at work here, Kai was taken by the higher demon's beauty alone.

The higher demon was a succubus, a demon race known for their peerless beauty and alluring bodies. Her body was one that all men would lust after; she had shapely breasts, wide hips and thick legs, as well as smooth skin. Even her eyes seemed to be violent cyclones that would devour all souls who dared to look into them. Her skin had a reddish hue, and her hair was jet-black.

"This is indeed a rare find," she added, "But does it not say anything else?"

Kai was still shellshocked by the sight he was witnessing. He expected a grotesque creature, but was met by a woman of unbelievable beauty. He almost felt like thanking Dipshit Lenny for bringing him here. But then he remembered he was just a skeleton as he felt like falling into a pit of depression momentarily.

"He is not a mere mindless servant," Lloyd explained hurriedly, uncharacteristically of him. "This one managed to keep his soul even after being turned into an undead."

"Interesting, indeed," the higher demon said and opened the lock on the cage.

Gort interjected, "This is still an undead, I advise against it."

"Do you think I'll be overtaken by a mere skeleton soldier?" she answered with zeal as she looked directly into Gort's eyes with the latter not daring to lock eyes with her.

"Of- of course not," Gort muttered and looked down.

When Kai gathered his thoughts again, the cage was open. He could just run away if he wanted to, but did he really want that? Furthermore, if he left by himself, he'd have shown initiative and proved he had a mind of his own.

Yes, he was certainly betraying the plan, but he was pressured into agreeing anyway. To sum it up, he had no other choice as Lloyd was the only person that could save him. Even though the cage was opened, no one ordered him to get out, as that would defeat the purpose.

The higher demon, not wanting to wait, entered the cage albeit the protest of several of her advisers. Kai figured they were advisers as even though they had bulky, scary builds, they still looked like nerds compared to some of the demon soldiers actually carrying the weapons. The only thing they carried was books.

"Hey," she said and came close enough for Kai to feel her hot breath on his bones. "My name is Naamah, do you have a name?" After a slight pause, she added, "I can give you a name if you like."

Without a body to continue to urge him further, Kai managed to keep his calm and stayed silent. Eventually, he figured, she would be bored of him and leave.

"Do something, useless undead!" Lloyd said cruelly while Alexandra silently shed a tear on the side. It seems she was the one who was unprepared for something like this the most.

As Kai stood still, the same kid from before came again, looking at Kai in a daze. To him, it seemed Kai was the world's greatest discovery. A skeleton who talks was indeed an incredible discovery, but it was hardly the most interesting thing higher demons could find. The kid quietly watched from the side, without daring to come closer to the demons.

"I know he doesn't look like much now, but-" Lloyd tried to explain himself, but Naamah interrupted him.

"It's fine, I'll take him."

She signalled two of her confused advisers and a chest full of gold coins were thrown on the ground in mere moments.

"I assume this will suffice," Naamah added.

"Certainly," Lloyd replied. The ropes pulling the cages were handed over to a demon.

Before stepping out of the cage, Naamah whispered again, "If you choose to walk out, I'll let you stay out of the cage."

As expected, Kai stood still. Naamah giggled as she stepped out. Even though Lloyd tried to convince her to spend some more time in the city, she seemed to be in a hurry as she left almost as soon as she bought Kai. Other vendors had nothing of interest for her.

Soon, Lloyd and the others watched Kai leave in the cage, silent and still. "That bastard should better do his job," Lloyd said while gritting his teeth.

"I hope he will be fine," Alexandra said worriedly, tugging at her father's arm.
