Hearing a dull thud in the distance, Gwen lifted her head toward Peter.
"That seems to be..."
Gwen blinked, puzzled, and said, "That seemed like an explosion.
"Hmm."
Peter nodded and walked over to the window, Gwen hurrying to follow.
Peter's vision projected out through the skyscrapers between the cities.
At the end of his vision, he could faintly see smoke rising from a building.
There appeared to have been an explosion there.
"Was it an accident?"
Gwen guessed that it might be an explosion in the chemical industry zone.
"I don't know, but the news should be reporting it soon."
Peter turned his eyes away and said in a casual tone.
"Well, I hope nothing was hurt."
Gwen exhaled, wanting to continue her previous conversation with Peter, but suddenly didn't know what to say In the corner of her gaze, she stumbled upon a Melody Coconut vending machine sitting in the corner of the hallway. While walking towards the vending machine, she asked Peter, "I'm a little thirsty, would you like something to drink?
"No, I'm not thirsty, Gwen."
Peter was a little surprised at Gwen's calmness at this point.
Normally after an accident in New York City, shouldn't Spider-Man be out in force?
Gwen had a "I just want a soda" look on her face.
"I remember an expensive Mountain Dew soda here."
Gwen pressed her head against the vending machine, trying to read the soda sign inside.
Soon she lifted her head and stuck in a twenty dollar bill.
After buying herself a root beer, she bought another Mountain Dew soda.
"Last time you bought me a root beer soda, this time I'll buy you a Mountain Dew soda."
Gwen walked over to Peter, smiled wryly, and handed him the soda.
Hesitating for a moment, Peter took the soda bottle.
"I have to say I've had a bit of luck today."
Gwen suddenly spoke of her luck.
"Why?"
"Because I picked up a dollar today.
I just picked up a dollar under the vending machine," Gwen shared her good luck with Peter.
Unfortunately, Gwen was too happy too soon, and she held out the dollar in her hand.
She took the dollar out of her hand, only to discover that it was a Christian flyer designed to look like a dollar, so it stood out.
Printed on the top of the flyer was a short story exhorting young people to shoulder their family and social responsibilities.
Momentarily irritated by the deception, Gwen huffed and crumpled the flyer into a ball.
She was about to throw it away when she looked up to find an unassuming, skinny-boned one in a straight black suit.
"Good morning, miss."
The man in the black suit offered to greet Gwen, "May I ask if this is George. Sheriff Stacy's ward?"
Gwen looked at him skeptically, "What are you?"
"I'm Frank. Agent Gallo, attached to the FBI."
The man took the initiative to show Gwen his ID.
After seeing the other party's ID, the doubts in Gwen's heart were dispelled.
After the man claiming to be a federal investigative agent entered the hospital room, Gwen turned her gaze to Peter.
"Where were we? Peter."
"You said you were lucky."
"Well, I guess I was mistaken.
Gwen had a slightly frustrated expression.
Regarding the fact that she tried to pick up a dollar but was teased about it, she suddenly felt a bit humiliated.
"It seems that next time my eyes should be polished."
Gwen did a self-examination.
"Indeed."
Peter put the soda bottle in his hand on the edge of the window, glanced inside the window, and said to Gwen: "Just now, for example, Gwen, you didn't see that the guy who called himself a federal investigator was lying.
"Huh?!"
Gwen froze when she heard Peter say that.
"He .... He's lying?"
Peter nodded his head and said to Gwen, "When a person is lying they will unconsciously blink their eyes, either looking upwards or to the right in order to mobilize the part of the brain that is responsible for creative thinking, the contraction of the holes, and the slight movement of the eyes and face, all of which are signs of a weak heart."
After being parasitized by the aliens, his sensory world as a predator intensified.
In his predator's perspective, he could detect that most of the prey, when delivering a lie, would react with a head twitch or a sudden movement of the eyeballs.
The black-suited guy just now, those micro-reactions were all captured by him.
Gwen panicked inwardly after hearing Peter say so.
Thinking that her father in the ward would be in danger, she kicked open the ward door as fast as she could.
"With a loud bang, George, who was talking in the ward, and the man in the black suit all froze.
Before George Stacey could react, Gwen was in a state of shock. Before George Stacy could react, Gwen shouted at her father, "Dad, he's not with the FBI!"
Realizing that his identity had been demolished, the man in the black suit no longer covered up and immediately pulled out a pistol from his pocket.
"Freeze!"
The man in the suit raised his pistol and aimed it at the three men, shouting threats.
Seeing that his father and Peter were in danger, Gwen did not hesitate, and in the next second, she blocked in front of Peter.
The man in the suit didn't pull the trigger immediately, and he was about to say something when he suddenly felt his body lose balance.
The plastic carpet he was stepping on was suddenly jerked by someone.
a stumble, his body was unsteady on its feet.
Gwen immediately rushed up, and with a dexterous stance, she kicked the other man's pistol away, and then gave him a heavy punch while he couldn't counter the heavy
"Boom" sound, the suit man's body hit the ground hard.
Gwen breathed a sigh of relief as she quickly subdued the thug without incident.
She turned her head to find both Peter and her father looking at her with strange eyes.
Crap!
It seemed like she had just gone a little too far.
Realizing that what she had just done might be a bit less in line with her usual persona, Gwen cried out in her heart that it was not good.
In the next second, Gwen raised her fist that attacked the man in the suit and pretended to be in great pain.
Unfortunately ....
in Peter's eyes, her acting was a bit clumsy.
The police arrived ten minutes later and handcuffed the guy posing as a federal agent.
After a brief interrogation, the identity of the other party was confirmed as a gang member of Hell's Kitchen.
The reason for posing as a federal agent was that the gang had recently been in trouble with the NYPD one after another, and after learning that George. After learning that George Stacy was here, he came over and prepared to make some threats.
He's unlucky enough to be neutralized by Gwen just as he walks in the door.
Hell's Kitchen?
Hearing this name, Gwen thought of last night's experience.
Matt. Murdoch's employer was Jin Jin.
The guy called Jin and was said to be the biggest gangster force in Hell's Kitchen.
As a superhero himself intending to guard the city, he could start with this guy named Kim and.
...
Half an hour later.
Everyone had left, and Gwen and George Stacy were the only ones in the hospital room. Stacy.
George was very upset about one thing - when the thugs raised their guns just now, between himself and Peter, his own daughter chose to take the bullet for Peter.
He had a feeling that his daughter was not going to do anything about it.
"Gwen, we have to talk."
