"We Don't Play With Rats"

"We have arrived princess." The purple-eyed general said.

A large caravan of carriages and guards rode straight into the town. Guards at the gate not attempting to stop them.

Their carriages attracted the attention of nearby passerby's,

"Wow, what's that?" A small child pointed at the commotion in front of him

"Those are grand imperial carriages. Look at how pretty they are!" The mother of the child responded. She tightly held his hand.

The princess within tapped her hand on her slender knee, her legs crossed. "Have we verified whether or not this... is truly a divine weapon?"

The purple-eyed guard responded, "From what little we know about divine weapons, we can only hope so." His eyes gleamed. Divine weapons were practically nonexistent in this world. Thousands of years ago, a massive war against out-of-world invaders destroyed most 'divine' weapons that were known to exist.

Apparently, the Darik family got lucky and found a divine weapon. They announced to everyone their discovery. Most assumed the Darik's to be fools. Who would want their enemies to know that they had an ultimate weapon?

But soon after it was revealed a condition was needed to wield the weapon. Nobody knew what it was, but just being in the presence of the weapon was enough to conclude that it was divine. When someone who is not 'adequate' came in contact with the weapon, it would function just as a normal weapon did.

No special effects or buffs were cast on the wielder. But if the weapon found someone adequate... Nobody knows what would happen.

The princess stood, her beautiful white dress combined with green frills swayed behind her. Her light purple eyes glowed "Take me to it." she said. The general nodded, he stood from his kneel,

Opening the carriage door he offered to help the princess out. She declined,

She looked up from the stairs, a massive mansion stood in front of her. A beautiful fountain surrounded by a pristine garden surrounded them. The Darik's were one of the most powerful noble houses present in Tira.

Their power, not only intimidated their enemies but even the royal family of Tira.

different carriages were parked alongside the front of the mansion. Each had different emblems signifying their houses.

Specifically, there were five other noble houses here. The guard announced to the princess once her feet landed steadily on the stone beneath her. "The Daytons, Philips, Pyles, Inmans, and the Quinns seem to be the only noble families here."

The princess frowned at the mention of those noble names. The Daytons were heavy fire users, known for their ferocity. The Philips were known to be inventors and researchers. Though researchers were not weak whatsoever, rather, having a larger variety of tools makes them more unpredictable.

The Pyles were extreme swordmasters. Their fighting style resembled a dance to most but was extremely deadly. The Inmans focused mostly on close combat, most were able to manipulate earth with extreme ease.

Lastly was the Quinns. They focused on reaching the peak of magic. Most noble families had to do this to some extent to be able to stay in power, but the Quinns took it to the extreme. They experiment on their bodies, trying to develop the most powerful vessel to contain and wield energy.

The princess took a deep breath, walking forward, rows of guards lined both of her flanks. Twelve men and women of similar clothing lined behind her, forming two rows of six.

Arriving at the entrance of the mansion, a young man with pitch-black hair and eyes stood leaning against a nearby wall. "Welcome princess," he said, his clothes pitch back, matching his hair and eyes. His pale white skin deeply contrasted with his every feature.

"Hello, Markus." The princess responded, destain was hidden in her voice.

Markus smirked, he knew the princess didn't like him whatsoever but he didn't care. The royal family could do nothing to him and his family. They controlled swaths of land that racked in money for the kingdom of Tira. "I sense some weak mages still within your carriages," he said, he glanced at the back most carriage in their entourage. "Will you not let those poor mages try their hand on the divine weapon?"

"Markus, those people are not here for the divine weapon." She said,

Chuckling Markus rebutted, "Since they are here why not let them try?" Markus would try to do anything to lower the standing of the princess. The weaker the Royal family became the more power his family could take from their hands.

Clenching her hands, she knew what Markus was doing, but she never would have expected those young men she decided to spare would cause her so much trouble. Markus turned towards his butler who appeared out of seemingly nowhere.

"Have them follow us, they will be the last to try if none have been picked," he said, motioning towards Lucas and Eric.

The butler bowed and walked towards the carriage they were located.

The princess ignored Markus, deciding to walk into the mansion. "Bastard" she spoke under her breath.

Markus smiled, he barely heard the princess, but he heard her nonetheless. "Bitch" he replied under his breath, but just loud enough for the princess to hear.

"YOU DARE?!" The purple-eyed general yelled, a vein on his forehead was poking out from anger. "LEAVE HIM, WE DONT PLAY WITH RATS" The princess commanded to the general.

Soon after the princess alongside her twelve bodyguards walked into the mansion. Dozens of men and women were gathered together in a beautifully decorated ballroom. Banners of the Darik family hung high, chairs and tables lined the side filled with a variety of dishes. At the head of the ballroom was a dragon's head. It was stuffed, underneath it stood a man.

This was the Darik family head, Fremont Darik. Power coursed through his body, his abysmally black eyes shined just like stars. His darkness somehow produced light, his dark hair swayed unnaturally. He wore a black tuxedo, a blood-red tie contrasted the rest of his outfit.

"Hahahahahaha" Fremont laughed "Welcome everyone! Today we shall witness the birth of a new God!"

Sorry for the slow chapter releases. Finals are coming up, so I have to focus more on school than I want to. :(
