Chapter 67: Zephyr?

Luo Ning has no affection for Roger whatsoever. Honestly, if Roger were still alive, Luo Ning might choose to kill him without hesitation upon seeing him.

The World Government was Robin's greatest enemy. Deciphering these historical texts could cause significant trouble for them, which was why Robin pursued this path. Without this goal, she might not be alive today.

"You're right," Robin agreed. "These historical texts are very important to me."

After reading the historical text, the three left without needing to record it. Robin had already memorized its contents. Her intelligence and memory were exceptional; otherwise, she wouldn't have become a scholar at the young age of eight.

Robin had joined Luo Ning, but this was only temporary. Over time, she would come to realize that only Luo Ning could truly protect her.

"By the way, I have a question," Luo Ning said, curiosity piqued. "The Revolutionary Army has always considered you a guiding light. After all, your knowledge is invaluable in their fight to overthrow the World Government. Yet, you've never contacted them."

"The risk is too great," Robin answered simply. "I can't trust them." Constant betrayal had eroded Robin's trust in anyone.

The current trust Robin holds for Luo Ning stems solely from the historical text and his demonstrably superior strength.

Obviously, this is a very basic level of trust. Robin's heart remains deeply guarded. Luo Ning never imagined he could so easily crack through her defenses.

Looking at the bigger picture, Robin's journey with the Straw Hat Pirates spanned several major arcs, from Alabasta to Enies Lobby – a truly significant stretch. Luffy and his crew also made considerable efforts to try and bridge the gap with Robin.

"The risks are indeed substantial," Luo Ning conceded, opting not to press the issue further. Robin feared the Revolutionary Army would exploit her for their own gain. After all, they were a major force and a thorn in the World Government's side.

The World Government's suppression of the Revolutionary Army was even more blatant.

Compared to staying with a force that could be crushed at any moment, aligning with Crocodile on Alabasta seemed like the lesser risk, even though danger was still present.

Luo Ning then decided to spend a few days in Alabasta. Despite being a desert country, it boasted some beautiful scenery. He planned to relax and enjoy his time there.

On another note, Robin provided Cobra with some of Crocodile's incriminating evidence. This would expose Crocodile's plot and, with a little time, completely quell the unrest in the country. Of course, this peace hinged on the absence of external intervention.

If the World Government decided to stir trouble again, things could take a turn for the worse.

After a week of leisure, Luo Ning and his companions received a sudden message from a passing naval ship.

"Zephyr? Because of Weevil?"

The message revealed that Zephyr had arrived in Alabasta.

"Who's Zephyr?" Nami inquired curiously.

"A former Marine Admiral and current Head Instructor for Marine recruits," Robin explained, having grown closer to Luo Ning and Nami during their travels.

"A former Marine Admiral? Why's he showing up suddenly?" Nami questioned with doubt. They had all been listening to the conversation via the Den Den Mushi and knew Zephyr's purpose was to meet Luo Ning.

"I helped him with a problem before, so I guess he's here to express his gratitude," Luo Ning replied knowingly. He quickly returned to the warship with Nami and Robin. Docked beside it was another Marine ship, this one dedicated to training recruits.

"That's some outrageous mechanical arm!" Nami exclaimed the moment she saw Zephyr. Such a prosthetic was indeed a rarity.
