Chapter 20: Still Waiting

"Director, you're awake!"

A few jailers wearing gas masks stood in front of Magellan. Magellan's body was full of poison, even the breath he exhaled. So the masks were a necessity, not a choice.

"Wait... hold on. Where's that prisoner? How's he doing? Are there still prisoners on the sixth floor? Did that guy... let them out?"

Magellan's face crumpled in fury as the memories of his defeat flooded back.

If those criminals were released, his crime would be serious, and he'd bring great trouble to the world.

"Don't worry, that guy just knocked out all the prisoners on the sixth floor, and now he's still at the gate, and... a-and... are still sunbathing"

In the end, the jailer stammered, clearly flustered. This news was just too crazy.

"Say again?"

Magellan sighed in relief. No escape, then. But the jailer's next words sent a shiver down his spine.

The jailers, seeing the warden's shocked expression, repeated the message slowly. They knew this wasn't Magellan's fault.

"Sunbathing at the entrance of Impel down, this bastard... Gululu..."

Magellan's face twisted in anger. He started to get up to confront Luo Ning, but then a weird gurgle erupted from his stomach. It wasn't hunger, it was his toxins acting up again.

His earlier bout of diarrhea wasn't over. It stopped because of Luo Ning's trouble, and now his stomach's acting up again.

Luckily, his stomach held out while he was unconscious. Otherwise, things might have turned out much worse for Magellan.

"Director, the support from HQ has arrived. That person hasn't escaped yet. It seems that he is waiting for them. You should solve your problem first!"

The guard next to him kindly reminded that if Magellan fought now, he might have a toilet problem in the middle of it. They wanted to laugh when they thought about Magellan getting unexpectedly pulled down, but they held back anyway.

Magellan also felt sick. His stomach issues were a serious problem. With backup from HQ hasn't arrived and Luo Ning still around, he had to deal with his problem first.

Without another word, Magellan rushed out and ran straight to his private toilet.

His injuries aren't too bad, so he can still move around. Of course, in the One Piece world, broken bones are almost a joke. Pirates can fight on as long as they're tough enough.

After all, Luffy with his Gear Fourth is the real unkillable guy, bouncing back from any damage.

These pirates are something else, like walking monsters.

When Magellan woke up, the others slowly followed suit. But they weren't foolish enough to charge at Luo Ning right away. They all knew they were no match for him.

Delivering groceries could wait. It was better to hold off until the Marines arrived. Then, they could work together to take him down.

The wait dragged on. Even with a shortcut like the Gate of Justice, it would take the Marines a while to reach Impel Down. After all, not everyone is as fast as Kizaru.

Aokiji frowned. Impel Down was in sight. Magellan and his men were awake. Aside from Shiryu, most seemed ready to fight. What was Luo Ning thinking? This was crazy, even for a maniac. Normal people wouldn't dare try this.

After seeing the warship, Luo Ning changed back into his sportswear and yelled at the gate, "It's finally here! Everyone behind the gate, don't you plan to come out?"

"Did you really find us a long time ago?"

Magellan came out followed by his men, ready for the fight.

"Come on, there's a bunch of you crammed behind that door. Anyone with half a brain can figure it out, alright?"

Luo Ning rolled his eyes. Whispers came from behind the door, making it obvious people were there. Why did Magellan think they were hidden well?

"So, back to what we were saying. What's your purpose?"

Magellan's face clouded with confusion. He initially thought Luo Ning was here to rescue someone from the sixth floor, but that turned out wrong. Luo Ning wasn't here to save anyone – he was just knocking everyone out.

"Purpose? Do you mean why I came to Impel down, or what I did in Impel down?"

Luo Ning asked.
