Chapter 5: Start with Training

A few days later, the placement email for "Ming Ling" was sent via email. Kevin who saw it was happy because he was excited to start being a hero. It mentioned that he would be placed in a team with 4 other people as a rookie hero for training before officially becoming an active hero. He himself would be active in Peipei city but could request to be transferred in the future.

There they will get training on the technicalities of being a hero from the basics. They will also get simulation training on handling threats.

The training will be held at the training area outside the city starting tomorrow and will be conducted for 3 days, participants are also not required to stay in the dormitories provided and can go home as the distance between the training area and the city is very close and only takes 25 minutes, all participants are also expected to be present on time. "Rookie Ming Ling has arrived, report complete, sir!"

"Report accepted, rookie Ming Ling, go to the treasury to get your training uniform and put it on." The head of the office said.

"With a rookie hero, what's your name?" The officer said as he opened the list of names.

"Ming Ling."

"Okay," said the officer looking and then checking Ming Ling's name, he continued, "Here is your uniform, congratulations on starting your training," said the officer as he handed over a box containing some training clothes and equipment.

"These are the clothes and equipment for your 3 days."

"Thank you," Ming Ling said and went to the changing room to change her clothes.

After finishing changing her clothes as quickly as possible, Ming Ling then headed for the training grounds as directed by the email. While the office and treasury were located in the southeast area, the training field was located in the eastern area.

There were already several teams participating in the training. Ming Ling's uniform had "03" written on it, indicating her team number, and she already saw two other people with the same team number. She went up to them and said, "Hello, with team 3?"

The two people consisted of a young girl in her eighties and a boy who was also in his eighties. They were the same age as Kevin and had dreams of becoming mm heroes after they awakened their powers. And they were twins.

"Wow, with team 3 too? My name is Maria Jones. And he's my twin brother Andrew Jones," said the girl.

"Hi," said the boy.

"Are you in your 25s?" Maria said to Ming Ling. She was surprised that this woman signed up to be a hero at her age if she was right.

"Right, but age is not an obstacle, not everyone wants to become a hero straight away," Ming Ling informed.

"You're right. Then can we call you Big Sister?"

Ming Ling was a little surprised about these two people, did they feel it was rude to call " her" by name only? Quite cute.

"No need, we're all rookies here, no need to worry about that, just call me "Ming Ling" or "Ming"."

They both understood Ming Ling's meaning but still felt uncomfortable.

Ming Ling had expected that and gave up.

After that another person arrived, a man with muscles everywhere.

"Hello, Boys and Girls, I'm Bastian, a bodybuilder. Nice to meet you guys as fellow rookie heroes," the man said as he bowed his head

"Nice to meet you too, we're fellow team 3."

"Great, I can't wait, let's work together, guys," Bastian said.

After that came the whistle of an instructor who would train these budding heroes.

"Good morning, colleagues. Here, as novice heroes you will receive training for 3 days, to shape your understanding of becoming a hero. This training will be an introduction to the basics of how to become a hero from the basics. After that, you will actively become heroes and experience more demanding tasks and great responsibilities.

"We will not educate you hard, but time will educate you hard. Remember that the job of a hero is to be paid to protect their community from threats from everywhere.

"This is the beginning of your contribution, go through this training as best you can so that you can quickly adapt as a real hero, not a rookie, but an experienced hero."
