❝told you he would push Hyun before they reach the other side❞ Chen said triumphantly while he folded his towels. he grinned as he watched Jin roll his eyes. ❝don't worry Jin, I won't be placing any interest❞

the three friends were in their cabins for the night time. free to do anything other than go out. they decided to just lounge around their beds. Chen in particular started to fold his untidy clothes and towels.

❝I can't believe you bet against me❞ Jehyun showed an annoyed expression, letting out a huff. ❝I almost died❞

❝but you didn't❞ Jin remarked which earned a pillow that was thrown at him by the poor lion cub. laughing, he got the pillow before hugging it tightly. ❝you can still catch stars hyun❞

Jehyun always wondered how he was friends with these two. they always teased him because he was the youngest and because he used to have this weird ambition to catch a star. don't ask him why because he doesn't know as well. he had a weird childhood ok. he let out adefeated sigh before falling on his bed.

❝I miss home❞ he mumbled loud enough for the two to hear.

❝no, you just miss your TV so that you can watch that one actor❞ Chen snickered Before raising the shirt he was folding to defend himself from Jehyun who had raised his other pillow. ❝I'm not wrong! ❞

❝oh shut it you❞ Jehyun scowled while sitting up, ❝I don't watch TV because of that actor❞

❝actually Hyun, you only watch TV because of him. you said an I quote "he interests me with his visuals. too bad he's scandalous. I would date him or even marry him if I have the chance" ❞ Chen teased which earned a squeal from Jin and obvious blush from Jehyun. ❝hey Jin, remember when he—oof! ❞

jin could only laugh as Chen once again got hit by a pillow. he also laughed at jehyun who stood up and was making his way to Chen while looking like he wanted to strangle the butterfly.

❝Chen just hope that I don't catch you or else I'm feeding you to the cheetahs❞ Jehyun tried to get hold of Chen but the butterfly quickly slipped before starting to run away. ❝come back here you little bug! ❞

❝try to can't catch me lion king❞ Chen playfully showed his tongue while pulling his right eyelid down.

❝lion King!? ❞

the two best friends collapsed in Jin's bed. panting and tired from chasing and running away from each other for ten minutes. they wouldn't have stopped if it weren't for both of them slipping the clothes that Chen had laid around the cabin.

Chen took a deep breath before turning his head to face Jin. it wS him, Jin in the middle, and Jehyun who had little to no space on the bed. ❝you failed Jehyunie❞

❝you little bug❞ he snarled, ❝wait till I catch you❞

❝you can try Hyun but I'm not a star❞

❝oh come on! I was ten at that time❞

❝thirteen hyun❞

❝your point!? ❞

jin shook his head as his friends started to bicker about Jehyun's weird obsession for catching a star. he didn't get it at first but once he looked past the literal meaning, he saw what the youngest meant.

❝what if that star is actually a person? ❞ he suddenly said which broke the bickering. his two friends looked at him. ❝what if this person is the reason why Hyun refuses to date someone is because he already saw that star but... can't catch it because that star is too far ❞

❝excuse me but I am a school first person❞ Jehyun came to his defense. ❝I don't do dating❞

Chen playfully scoffed before turning around where his stomach was on the bed before perching his arms and used them to support him. ❝you say that and yet you have heart eyes on that celebrity❞

Jehyun frowned, ❝well at least I don't cling to people. unlike you who wouldn't stop clinging on hiro even when you were on the ground already. Jake told hiro doesn't like skinship. I don't how you got him to have you clinging on to him without being irritated❞

❝he doesn't like skinship? ❞ Chen scrunched his nose. finding it hard to believe. ❝are you sure you aren't lying? ❞

❝he isn't ❞ Jin sat up from his part of the bed. ❝apparently he hates it when unfamiliar people touch him. something about a rough childhood❞

Jin felt something prick inside of him and he doesn't know why. the last time he felt like this when his cousin would spend time with her cousin from her dad's side or whenever she would smile brightly at her best friend. it honestly conflicted him as hiro was someone he only days ago.

chen made a 'o' expression. for him, something wasn't right. ❝but he wasn't mad at me❞

❝well that was shocking for brazen and jake❞ Jehyun shrugged his shoulders, ❝you're something chen❞

❝are you complementing me? ❞ chen looked touched. ❝thank you Hyun. here I though this day wouldn't come❞

❝I take that back. you aren't something chen❞

❝nope! you already said it hyun❞

jin hasn't tried to force his eyes shut. instead he let them stare at the wooden ceiling of their cabin. it was dark but he could still make out some of the nails that were nailed.

Jehyun and Jin were fast asleep. Chen snoring loudly while Jehyun started mumbling things about a movie. it creeped him out at first but we all have weird sleeping habits.

a sigh of exasperation escaped his lips. it was still there. the weird pinch in his heart. as a recall, the conversation of Jehyun and his star obsession quickly diverted to Chen and Hiro's skinship. Chen said it was nothing but he knew it was something. it didn't help that Jehyun kept on pushing the idea of the butterfly being special to hiro.

what made him wonder was why cared so much. Chen deserved someone who found him special. after rejecting Joshua because he knows the older was engaged, Chen hasn't really been the same. he was playfully but there was a boundary. he was rarely clingy back home unless he feels like it. he was also silent most of the time. in his eyes, Chen changed since that night back in the valentines day party. the way he looked like someone broke him.

❝ he looked ruined❞ he mumbled to himself, turning his head to Chen. ❝I wonder what happened? ❞

❝you should go to sleep❞

flinching, Jin turned his attention to Jehyun who sleepy got out of his bed and headed to the bathroom. the younger spent a few minutes inside before the sound of the toilet flushing and faucet running short filled the room.

❝why are you awake❞

❝I'm just thinking of something❞

❝is this because of a while ago? ❞

❝what? ❞ Jin sat up on his bed. ❝of course it isn't❞

the younger smiled and looked at him like he was crazy. it may be dark and was sleepy but his brain was functioning properly. ❝don't lie Jin. I know that look❞

❝what look? ❞

❝that uncertain look you give once you see the person you like start to like another❞
