Unmasking The Sorrowfuls (3)

(Backstory of Seo Min-ji)

"Mom, look what I made! Remember the paper that dad made for us? I made a paper airplane out of it." Little Seo Min-ji said joyfully. She lived in a close-knit family, even though her family couldn't make money to feed her and her siblings, they were happy with what they had. Seo Min-ji who was a playful child back then, had a lot of fun with her family. She really liked physical activities, so even though her family doesn't have a lot of money, they still did what they could to enroll her to Taekwondo classes.

Each day she would practice Taekwondo, everytime she saw loan sharks talking to her parents, and people bullying her siblings, she would always say "Don't Hurt My Family, Or Next Time You Wont Even Get The Chance To Hurt Them!" Everyone would just laugh at her, but they don't know how it feels to go through a lot of pain in their daily lives.

One day, the only thing that she didn't want to happen, happened. They were living in a very small house, they didn't have enough storage space to store hazardous things too. A flammable object caught on fire but no one realized it, they were too used to the smell of fire because of the place they lived, to even know that there was a fire in their house. The fire soon grew larger and larger. She came back from Taekwondo classes just to see her house burn down.

She heard her family calling for help from inside, but she didn't have the ability to do anything. Tears were flooding out of her eyes. She shaped her hands like a bowl to scoop a tiny bit of water from a water puddle beside their house. The only supply of water was inside the house. It was already too late. Min-ji couldn't do anything to save her family anymore.

Plunged in a state of deep sorrow and despair, the only place she could run to were the streets, seeking solace in the wrong crowds. It was during this time when she found out about La Mascara. It was the only place that accepted her so she stayed.

As she delved deeper in the underworld, she looked for a way to cope with her grief, and reclaim a sense of control. This was when she found out about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. She had already mastered Taekwondo, so she thought that it would be fun to learn a new martial art. She was then given the place as one of the three trusted people of The Head of the sorrowfuls.

The longer she stayed in La Mascara, the more her personality changed. She was given the nickname "La Serpiente". She is someone who can deceive people. All she seeks is a family that would love her like before.

(Back To Present)

In a flash Min-ji appeared behind Rae-gi, holding a knife to his neck. She asks Rae-gi a lot of questions, "How old are you? You look the same age as me, You look pretty handsome for someone with that personality." Rae-gi was surprised because of her immense speed.

"You shouldn't take your chance to fight me, I am a bit on the stronger side of the sorrowfuls." She whispers, sending shivers down his spine. Rae-gi replies to her, "I don't care! I need to get this over with and go back to my mother asap!" Min-ji full of jealousy, feels pity for him, if she kills him, she knows how it would feel for his mother.

Before Min-ji could be overwhelmed by her feelings, she threw a kick to Rae-gi and quickly kicked Beok-sing. Rae-gi moves swiftly and flips her, she falls to the ground. Min-ji uses her feet to bring Rae-gi down and put him in a choke hold. After a bit of struggling, Rae-gi manages to get out. It would take a lot more than just Rae-gi to defeat her, Beok-sing needed to help too.

They exchange flurries and barrages of fast attacks. They dodge Min-ji's fast kicks and try to initiate a counter attack. As they punch her, she takes the opportunity to flip both of them onto the ground.

There was no way out, they have no way to help each other. Beok-sing signals using his hand to Rae-gi. Rae-gi nods his head and Beok-sing counts. They muster all the strength they have left in order to knock her down.

She gets knocked down, but gets back up fast. She replicates the techniques of La Tempestad, La Llama, And La Sombra as a last resort. "Break your limits Beok-sing, we will win this!" They use their experiences and learn from their mistakes. As she throws an unstoppable barrage of kicks, she soon got tired. Rae-gi and Beok-sing took the chance. Then they did it! They finally defeated her. "I-I just want a family too". Tears came running down her eyes. I just want to get out of this cruel world. I want my family back! Rae-gi shakes her hand without saying a word.

She was moved by his kind gesture and started blushing. "I- I can help you!, I know who we should attack next. We should head to Gangnam-gu and find Kang Min-ho. "The Steel Foot."
