"Is it really over now?" was all Elliot could ask himself. He was still trying to wrap his head around what had just happened. He watched the shattered shield around him, the sound of Malice's screams still ringing in his ears even as the woman, along with her daughters, was sucked into the vortex.

"What just happened?" Lance ran up to him. "Why was she back? How did she come back?"

"I don't even know what happened," Elliot stared at Lance. "But can I assume that it's all over?"

"Not quite," Irus was shaking his head as he approached them. "It seems like the others couldn't figure out what's wrong with your mother. Trick also reported that Malice's defeat has made some progress on the resistance that was willing to overthrow her."
