No matter how many times she stared at them, Dahlia still couldn't get enough. She had parents and a sister? It was too hard to believe.
Yes, she had pretty much minded her business back on earth, nonetheless, she was still envious of a few people with parents. Having lived in an orphanage most of her life, Dahlia saw fellow orphans she had grown up with getting adopted by couples time after time. But not her.
At a point she had wondered what was wrong while the fellow kids poked fun at her and called her names, saying she was cursed. Dahlia had to develop a thick skin and shut whatever they said out; filtering their words and taking the ones she needed.
It was said that once you reached the age of fifteen, it was hard to get adopted since most couples needed innocent kids they could take in as theirs. Hence when her fifteen birthday went by with no sign of adoption plans by a family, Dahlia gave up hope of ever being loved.
