He was used to leading groups to raid dungeons back in his world while playing VR games but in the games, he had the body and face of a Greek god which aided in making his leadership abilities better and increasing his confidence.
But in this world, he was in a kid's body. It made it difficult to convince others to follow him but fortunately, these kids weren't being difficult and were at least listening to him.
Maybe because the shock of their current situation hadn't faded causing them to go with the flow. But once they got their bearings, Dan knew it would be hard to convince them to follow him with his meagre social and leadership skills.
