Chapter 2 - Bullying The Bullies

The class had instantly descended into chaos the moment their teacher left, various students began to proudly discuss their abilities while other hid themselves in shame.

"Holy Cow, Drake... you are a sound mutant? Damn, your luck is too good..."

"Oh momma, thank you for birthing me. Everyone, I'm a true fire based mutant! Tsk tsk, those bullies should just wait for me today, I'll definitely give them a beautiful welcoming present next time I see their faces!"

"Fuck me! My father's a mutant, my mom's a mutant, but I'm not a mutant... Am I a bastard son? No, no, this can't be!"

Wails and cries of joy and pain were heard as the students immersed in the feeling of finally acknowledging their fate. In the midst of all the students, Felix had distanced himself and sitting at a corner.

Jacob on the other hand was surrounded by various students asking for his name and number. He was now helpless. Felix was the one who attracted all these attention, but he slipped away and drew them to their next target...

Him!

When he saw the students rushing towards him like a surging flood, he suddenly felt weakness in his joints. Since when do they have so many students in class?

"Hey Jacob, I know you're Felix's best friend, can you give me his number? I can chase out my dorm mates and unlock my room for you tonight! Don't worry, my dorm is soundproof, no one can hear us."

"Shut up you prostitute! Hey Jacob, you look so strong and manly, I think I love you, but can you give me Felix's number first, then, we can talk about this in private?"

"You two bitches, get away from my boss! I'll ruin you if you give him one more seductive glance!"

"Wait wait wait everyone, can I go to the restroom first?" Jacob said with a pleading gaze, as he nearly got down on his knees to make his plea to the unreasonable bunch. He wasn't some superstar who was used to all these burrowed fame and attention.

He isn't the telepathic mutant, the true anomaly is right there, are you all blind?!

"Master, if you want to go to the restroom go, but we your loyal harem shall follow you even to the depths of hell, until you give us the boy's contact or introduce us to him."

In any normal situation, Jacob would be enjoying himself when surrounded by so many sexy girls, but now he really wanted to cry. If he was really pressed, he was sure it would have gushed out like floodwaters by now...

F-Follow to the depths of hell? Loyal harem?

Jacob glared at Felix who was peacefully sitting besides the window, and neatly shielding his face with his hood. Jacob could identify Felix, why couldn't these lovestruck idiots do it?

Felix laughed heartily as he watched Jacob being bullied by the girls and boys who recently formed his fan group. Fame was good, but lovestruck die-hard fans were like ink on white... impossible to get rid off.

After some time, a man came to the class and told everyone to head back to their dorms. He wore a casual blue top and a pair of black pants, with a pair of dull gray sneakers.

Some students groaned and complained, but nevertheless they all walked out of the class including Felix, Jacob and the fan group. Jacob was about to join Felix when a group of girls suddenly pounced on him.

Who told you we would let you go so easily?

Felix smartly jogged back to his dorm with a smile plastered across his face after watching Jacob getting surrounded by the flood of 'fanatics'. His jog back to his dorm was light paced, giving him the time to observe his surroundings.

He instinctively drew out a glass-like card from his pocket, and intently studied it. The card was his Universal Galaxy Identity Card, having the ability to store information about him through a special Galactic Telecome Machine!

[Name - Felix Luton Drake]

[Status - Student]

[Dorm Number - D58]

[Credits - 10, 000]

'C'mon where is it... F**k how can I lose track of my own room?!' Felix was dumbstruck as he jogged around while checking the words on the cards hung at the top of most dorm room.

D56, D57... D59... wait didn't I just cross my room just now?

Felix suddenly turned right, and let out a victorious sigh. Before him was a dorm, with the text [D58] printed on a card at the top of the door. Aha, there it is!

He was about to walk into his room when some boys approached him from behind. They were a gang of three, all on black. Their dressing code made them look like Street gangsters, but Felix immediately recognised their ringleader...

"Hey, Felix. Hand over your credits, now! Don't waste time here, I don't like beating kids up for no reason!" The tallest of the boys said. He was wearing a casual black shirt, and had a pair of black glasses on his face. His name was Roy, the class bully.

Roy had been tormenting some students of the school including Felix, but they all endured due to being unsure of their own strength. Roy would have continued his reign of terror, if not for being struck by the terrifying truth...

He was a mutant with no powers... a weakling!

"I don't have any." Felix evidently lied with a fierce glint in his eyes. From his clothing and the amount of zeros on his card, dven a fool would instantly know he was lying. His eyes scanned the room hoping for a way to escape, but he was cornered.

"Okay, we'll just take it from you the hard way." Roy punched his fist into his palm as he approached Felix with a smile before nodding in his direction and adding, "C'mon boys, let's teach him a good lesson!"

After some minutes of torture, Jacob was finally freed from the flood of Felix's fan group. His hair was ruffled, while pieces of his clothing had been clawed off by some mad fan girls.

Jacob walked to his dorm with a smile on his face. He had finally escaped from the army of crazed fans.

D58!

Unlike Felix, Jacob couldn't easily locate their dorm even after checking his card a couple of times. Although He and Felix were roommates, Jacob never stayed in their room at times. He either joins some other guys in playing games until he is extremely tired, or making out with a girl before going back to his room.

He was a typical playboy with a brawl and little brain... Damn me, why is it so hard to fin- Aha, there it is!

As Jacob approached the room, he had a bad feeling at the pit of his stomach. His instincts told him he was walking into serious trouble, but he still continued on the path of no return.

"Hand over the credits now!" A thunderous male voice echoes, as the smell of gunpowder assaulted Jacob's sensitive nose.

F**k me!

"I said I don't have any!" A sharp cry followed with a tone full of anger and hostility.

Jacob immediately paused, he actually recognised those voices. It was Roy, and-oh fuck it-Felix!

Roy raised his fist, anger and frustration overwhelmed him as he punched down, hoping to teach the brat his place with his fists. His fist rumbled down, but wasn't as powerful as Roy intended it to be, so he madly roared in anger:

Felix was headstrong as he fiercely gazed up to face the incoming fist, his eyes flashed in a brilliant light as he prepared for his counter attack, but he was shocked to see someone grabbing Roy's fist. The sound of bones cracking was heard as Roy groaned in pain.

Felix was dumbstruck as he saw Jacob firmly holding on to Roy's hands with a ferocious glow in his eyes which seemed to have attained the ability to shoot out lazers!

Of course, Jacob knew these bullying bastards who had been causing trouble all over the school. But, although he wasn't a hero, he just couldn't let his brother suffer!

He immediately began to awaken hid mutant genes as the atmosphere suddenly turned cold. His skin started to glisten brightly as his eyes scarlet eyes began to glow.

Mutating The Body To Become A Being Of Destruction -- Semi - Transformation Stage... Diamond Beast Race!

'Fuck me! Why can't I move my arm? He's going to shatter my bones at this rate!' Roy screamed in his head as he tries in vain to move his arm which was fiercely held by Jacob whose body had already started to morph.

A crystalline layer of jade diamond had encased Jacob's skin, toughening his outer body and increasing his defences.

His goons looked at Roy with worry in their eyes. A single punch from their leader should be enough to finish off this brat, but what the hell is going on?!

The goon watched as Roy roared in pain, and as the enemy ruthlessly continued to transform, his power growing by the second...

I have to save our boss!

One of goons let out a fierce shout as he dashed towards Jacob, and clenched his fists before throwing them out... Although he was strong, let's see how he shall face my power!

Mutant Ability - Fiery Fists!

Two large fists which were covered in ferocious scarlet flames came hurtling towards Jacob's face at a startling speed. In a normal situation, the heat wave from the strike was enough to roast someone alive, but before Jacob's Diamond hard skin it was like being poured a bucket of warm water...

It was refreshing...? Jacob was sure if the goon could hear his thoughts, blood would've been coughed up all over his body.

When the goon saw Jacob accepting his punch like it was nothing, he panicked. He was a powerful fire mutant, but he was wary of those with extremely bugged abilities. The goon was about to forcefully pull back his hand when a shockingly large fist suddenly covered his field of vision.

Bang!

A goon was sent flying into the air like a ragged doll. Blood was spat out as the goon let out a cry of pain, his jaw had been shattered from the monstrous punch of the pointy ear boy with red eyes who held on to his ringleader.

A goon who was relatively smart instantly snuck up to Felix, and was about to strike when he suddenly felt the penetrative gaze of a fierce tiger. Surprisingly he didn't panic like his comrade, but continued with his mission.

The goon was smiling inside. In the TV in his mind, everything was going according to his script. The truth was he was also mutant... and one with extraordinary strength!

Although fire won't work on you, we'll face rock with rock and see who'll come out victorious! MWAHAHAHAHA!

Felix instantly saw through this feint, and was about to warn Jacob when he suddenly heard a loud and booming voice which was full to the brim with fighting intent.

Roy was flung away like thrash, hurtling through the air before roughly crashing in a students dorm room door. The student immediately peaked out, and was about to complain through the window, but after seeing the fight he silently shrunk down.

"Get off my friend!" Jacob yelled fierce as he took a mighty leap towards the next goon, his eyes flashed as he threw out his fists with a vicious look on his face.

Just Die For Me!

Rum - Ble~

Like a meteorite tearing through space, Jacob's fist arrived at the goons face in a blink...

Bingo!

The goon grabbed the hand in a flash. He flashed a grin as his eyes flickered in a strange light, before hoisting Jacob into the air, and violently slammed him to the ground.

Suddenly Jacob felt as if he had danced into a pit... the bastard was a super strength mutant, and a very strong one at that! Even if he couldn't break Jacob's skin, the goon's power was enough to deal damage to Jacob's internal organs.

The entire world rolled before Jacob's eyes as he surprisingly found himself kissing the floor with a sweet taste in his mouth.

"Pah!" Jacob instantly spat out blood as his face turned pale. His vision blurred as he lay on his belly with the metallic taste in his mouth.

Felix was dumbstruck as his eyes flashed in a ferocious light. This... this was unacceptable! You could hurt anyone, but not the people close to him!

"Jacob!" Felix called out in shock. His body shaked in anger as he slowly looked up to the goon who flashed a lazy grin. Subconsciously, his eyes burst out in a bright azure glow as his hair and clothes began to sway slightly.

Hum... Hum... Hum...

The floor was trembling immensely under Felix's power, as the goon staggered slightly, fear in his heart as the building around then continued to shudder violently.

Roy who was lying on the floor marveled at the sight before breaking out in a cold sweat. That was the power of a telepathic mutant, total control of one's environment through one's thought!

Absolute suppression without moving a muscle... invincibility amongst the mutant - Absolute Telepathy!

"Get - the - hell - out - of - my - sight!" Felix roared. The intensity of his power growing, causing the building to shudder even more violently.

The bullies were frightened to their core... Who wanted to face such power?

Suppression with numbers? Persistence? Craziness? In the face of true power, all they could do was scram!

Like a swift bolt of lightning, Roy stumbled to his feet with a dark face, as his comrades followed madly without thinking of the safety of their partner. They forgot about their honour and dignity as top bullies, and fled.

Wait for an opportunity? If you want to wait wait, I'm not going to die yet.

In mere seconds, three swift goons disappeared in an instant as the initially quaking building quietened down.

"Cough cough, you scared the hell out of those bastards!" Jacob coughed as he sat up with blood running down his lips.

Felix had an anxious expression as he ran to Jacob. His brother was badly hurt by those thugs! He made a mental note to report- Oh no, destroy them immediately!

"Jacob, are you okay?" Felix asked with a frown as he knelt down to observe Jacob.

Whoosh!

Wind blew as Jacob and Felix suddenly paused. A tall shadow was cast over them, with the aura of a furious mutant bearing down on them.

"What happened here?" A female voice sounded. The voice was as calm as water, but held indescribable coldness that could freeze one's every soul.

Felix looked up only to see a familiar face... Black hair, slender and sexy body, domineering aura..

Nix?!

Nix stood before Felix with a frown on her face, as she placed her hands on her hips.

She was just passing by when she picked up the sounds of the commotion and rushed over as fast as she could.

She was stunned to meet Felix and Jacob in a mess with blood and scorch marks around the place.

Nix knew that neither of them was a mutant with the fire ability, so it must have been involved with a third party.

"I don't have time to explain, big sis. Jacob needs treatment." Felix said as he helped Jacob to his feet and stares at Nix with a pleading gaze.

Nix saw Jacob's body layered by the jade crystal, and noticed his pained expression.

'He is in a crystal like shell, how can he be affected by pain? Unless...'

"Hurry up, we have to take Jacob to the hospital now!"

An explanation must be given, but Jacob needs immediate treatment.

Roy and his goons had limped back into an open dorm with their heads hung low. The dorm was relatively spacious with some urban furniture neatly arranged in the room, alongside three beds and a single TV set.

Ray sighed before walking to a chair and sitting down with a dejected expression on his face as he rubbed his temples. One of them who had black curly haired simply slumped down to the ground, and leaned against a wall with a blank face.

Defeat... They, the bullies had been defeated, and they weren't even able to obtain anything other than a fractured jaw and some bruises.

"Boss, if we don't get those credits how are we supposed to pay off the debt we owe?" The goon who sat on the ground asked with his head lowered.

Ta Ta Ta Ta.

Roy was vehemently tapping his feet against the floor in anxiety. He lost the money! All because of that stupid Jacob!

If Jacob hadn't swooped in, we'd have obtained the credits and Felix wouldn't have the chance to activate his mutant ability!

"We should think of our well-being first. Not some stupid debt!" The other goon who had a fractured jaw said. He held his jaw with his right hand, as if to prevent it from dropping down to the ground.

"Coward! Go tell that to Big Boss if you've got the guts! He'll feed you to dogs!" Roy said as glared at the said goon, his nostrils flaring as he unleashed his wrath through words.

"We should find a way to teach that kid his place!" The Black haired goon got up, and clenched his fists. He still remembered being unable to do anything when Felix suddenly revealed his true ability.

"We? Haha, no. I am going to the hospital. I still remember being punched in the face by that monster, I'm not a super strength mutant like you." The other goon said before staggering off without looking back.

Slam!

The door was shut behind him, as silence enveloped the room.

To him, true strength was everything. The kids displayed enough strength to threaten his life! He wasn't going back into the lions den again.

'Coward...' The black haired goon thought as he stared at the shut door in fury.

It's really in times like this that you know the brave dragons, and the cowering worms!

Roy's face was extremely red from anger. Steam was rising up from his head as he burnt with fury.

F-Felix, you just wait...

I'll kill you!

Nix dragged Felix and Jacob to the in-school hospital. She stopped her questioning immediately her eyes fell on Jacob.

Under the effects of his diamond shell, Jacob was healing slowly, but he was still in pain. It felt like some sought of burning sensation all over his body as his cells were straining themselves to heal his internal organs.

His eyes were fluctuating in glow rapidly, getting slightly brighter or slightly duller. He felt as if his body was undergoing a meltdown and rebuild.

"Sylta! This kid has awakened his abilities, and in his current state he won't be able to handle it." Nix said as she tapped her index finger against the the desk she was standing before.

An blue haired girl walked out of the room, her eyes and lips were a matching green. She wasn't tall nor short, but had an alluring body shape. Her eyes instantly fell on Jacob as her countenance fell.

It seems like his internal organs were serious damaged during his transformation, resulting in a chain cell reaction. His cells are over-exerting themselves to heal his injuries.

Only a heartless monster could do this!

"Bring him in..." Sylta said with a frown on her face as she placed her hands on her hips. They were lucky he was brought in on time or else...

Jacob was taken by some girls on white into the room with Sylta leaving Felix and Nix standing together before the desk in wait for the results.

"So Felix, have you finally gotten your ability scanned by your teacher?" Nix asked without taking averting her gaze from the door.

"Yep." Felix fidgets with his fingers as he anxiously waited for his best friend. His eyes glowed as he gritted his teeth.

Roy... I won't forget this!

"What genes do you possess?" Nix asked as she walked over to a seat and gracefully sat down with a smile on her face.

"Anomaly gene." Felix said nonchalantly.

Nix almost jumped. The hairs on the back of her neck stood erect as she looked up to Felix with her thoughts running wild.

Ano-anomaly? Felix's a telepathic mutant, maybe?

'It can't be him, right? They might be another Felix in the school I don't know of!' She thought to herself, but didn't believe it. She was a council member, she knew potentially every mutant in the mutant high school!

"My teacher Vegan, was the one who scanned me during the exam. I probably shocked her with my extraordinary genes." Felix continued, not aware of the woman looking at him as if she had seen a devil's ghost.

'It's him!!!'

Nix didn't want this kid to slip out of her grasp. A powerful young mutant who was her younger brother was sitting by her side, she wasn't going to let this golden opportunity pass her by!

He must join her, at all means possible!

Felix, Jacob, Kyle, Marie...

Monsters, she was building a team of... monsters!

"Well, that's a handy ability you got there, Felix." Nix remarked with a wry smile on her face. She really took Felix as her little brother, and it was normal for a sister to compliment a brother's awesomeness.

Why does she feel so strange? Meh, it's not like I'm fawning on him. Being kind to the potentially strong can't be bootlicking when he's now weak.

"Thanks." Felix said as he smiled back, making his bright azure eyes to curve into crescents.

"Do you have any plans of joining the batch of mutant who'll be admitted into the Next Gene Academy with my team?" Nix asked as she stared at Felix with a serious expression on her face.

Time froze as Felix lowered his gaze... He hasn't mastered his ability yet, why is this lady trying to recruit him?

Anyway, the results were still mouth-watering. As a mutant working directly under a council member, his resources would be limitless...

Felix's eyes had turned into golden dollar signs as his tongue rolled out of his mouth... money~

It was as if an angel had appeared besides him as he heard a little voice telling him to accept immediately!

"Yeah." Felix knew something wasn't right, but he was in no position to anger one of the major powers in the base.

Besides the money- cough cough, he also wanted to know why his parents were killed because of him, why everyone abandoned him while calling him... a freak!

Like, what the hell, what's so freakish about me you powerless bag of scum!

'Whew.' Nix wanted to blurt out, but restrained herself.

"Anyways, have you got a hang of your powers yet?" Nix asked, with a curious look on her face.

Felix thought back to when those hoodlums tried to rob him off his hard earned credits. When Jacob was struck, he suddenly had a grasp of everything around him.

The world around him reacted to his negative emotions, giving him a direct link to every particle of matter in the base...

He could have torn the building apart, he could have killed those fools, he would have become a true freak! Then, he'll show the world, what a true freak should look like!

If not for...

Nix saw the fire in Felix's eyes. Anger, guilt, regret... Pain.

A kid his age shouldn't bear these kind of burden... Only God and he knows what he's passed through.

Felix sighed before moving a piece of dirt before Nix with his eyes. Hinting, he had a grasp of his powers.

"Well, it looks like you have a small grasp of your abilities, amazing." Nix gave Felix a warm smile and continued, "It seem you're a true potential candidate for my team."

Felix looked at Nix's face, his eyes glowing as he smiled slightly.

"Thank you." Felix said before averting his gaze back to the door. His friend who tried to protect him is in there...

'Please be okay, Jacob.'

As for those bastards... their family should prepare for their funeral.
