Chapter42 Stay for the night, please?? (3)

THE UNDERWORLD.

The outcry of a man and cracking of bones could be given attention to in a room. His pleading was turned into deaf ears.

"Please have mercy...I didn't mean to do it" The man petitioned but a particular man was frantic with it. In irritation, he shot the revolver prompting a hole in the middle of the man's head

"Boss!!" Kim gasped. "He was getting on to say the truth, why did you fire?"

Gu Shen growled at him and edged the gun to his head "Don't you dare question my actions?" He warned.

"And the arrangements...have they been made? I don't want my woman seeing my body stained with a rat's blood" He flicked out a cigarette, lit it and then proceeded to smoke it.

Kim nodded his head "All arrangements have been made but something happened"

Gu Shen peered outside the window and rumbled for him to proceed. Kim faltered in fear of being depleted but he still said it nonetheless.

"The car you assigned for lady boss wasn't able to get her in it" He drooped his head.

Gu Shen moaned and looked around "I know"  

Kim sighed in solace but he was still appalled. Why did the man look indifferent about it? The person they were talking about was the lady boss.

Gu Shen dragged hard on the cigar to make him forget about the deal. His eyes flashed outrage, frustration, loneliness and craving.

Under his drag, he uttered profanity "Fuck!! I shouldn't have made that deal with him".

But I have no other choice. It is either your hatred or your distance.

The starry darkness and the cold wind in the air made him even more contrite.

"You are beautiful"

For some anonymous reason, she felt her heart whipping louder than a bomb. In embarrassment, she looked away to conceal the rosiness that was imprinted on her face but the man saw it regardless.

"You don't have to feel shy, you know...well the thing is that I had someone special in my life and she behaves exactly like you"

Kiara unintentionally looked back at his brown eyes. She bit on her lips nervously and wiggled to look away but the man mentioned something that kept her eyes liquefied to his.

"She looks exactly like you...I even wonder if you are her but evidently, you can't" He had said.

That was something Kiara didn't expect. Her beautiful raven eyes were still on his when his eyes abruptly twitched leading to a messy heart. Eventually, she looked away to calm her crazy heart.

What did he mean by special in his life?? Liar.

I hate liars

A slick grin was barely seen twinkling around the man's lips as he watched the bemused woman.

"I will make you fall in love with me once again if that is the only way for us to be back together" He mumbled.

"En?" Kiara knitted her brows.

"Nothing"

"Oh!!"

From afar, others may speculate that was the best dance they harbour ever seen in their entire lives but none will realise what the two silhouettes were thinking all through and how ironic it is that one wanted the dance to never end while the other wants the opposite.

Love can be tricky sometimes. As humans, you don't get most of the things you want in your life. It is the logical truth of life after all

No pain No gain.

"It is the moment we have all been waiting for" The host started "The winners of tonight's award ceremony"

"It's time" Qianqian squealed but she isn't the only one. The younger miss of the Su family could not help but clap her hands excitedly.

"Uncle Joon, do you think that beautiful masked aunty will win?" She asked the cold man sitting beside her.

Indifferently, he asked, "What do you think?".

Little Willow touched her chin and frowned "I am so sure she will sweep the whole floor tonight...hehehehehe" She said happily.

The man hummed and cried coldly "Why did you ask for my opinion when you already know the answer uh, you little naughty niece".

"I just like the annoying look on your face" She confessed which in turn got her a groan from the man but she just overlooked him and focused all her attention on the announcement.

"This girl...just like you, big brother" He murmured when his left eye grabbed the glimpse of a certain person. His eyes flew wide open when he saw her and with a man. A MAN.

You are really daring me, woman.

After declaring openly the awards. Concluding it is the most awaited title of the night.

The rookie of the year.

"And the nominees are....."

On the screen, a deep mouthpiece uttered as the nominees were announced.

Qin Dasu, Jade Macbeth, Diana Williams and Purplelilac.

"For this award, I hope the president of the Feng Corporation...Mr Feng...will you give us the honour to present the trophy to the winner"

The guests looked deadpanned by the mention of that name. They began clapping.

From his seat, he rose and adjusted his ebony tuxedo before taking himself to the stage.

The mentioned nominees were bewildered by the surprise. The presenter is the infamous Feng Li. How lucky for the winner

Feng Li in all full regalia obtained the card and trophy without even greeting the hosts. 

Looking back at the crowds and a certain someone, a smile was carved on his face which caught the two men beside him by surprise.

Did they just see a smile on his face?? Probably a hallucination.

With the mic in his hand, he started "I will just say this one thing to the winner...no matter how different you are, you will always be welcomed in our hearts"

"..."

The whole chatter in the room died down by those sentences but that didn't stop the man from continuing.

"We just hope you will be happy"

"..."

"What is wrong with big brother?" Qianqian whispered.

"And just be yourself" He finally concluded before clearing his throat to announce the winner.

WIELD!!!

That's the first thought on everyone's mind but they brushed it off.

"And the winner of the rookie award goes to...." His eyes scanned the room and only rested on his woman.

"It goes to... PurpleLilac"

Kiara froze in her seat when she heard her name. She didn't expect it.

Once again the spotlight stayed on her as everyone applauded.

"Yay, she won uncle" The little girl cried.

Kiara was still frozen in her seat until someone tapped her to go on stage. Nodding, she stood up and slowly approached the stage.

Feng Li smirked knowing she was very happy. His eyes laid on her eyes then on her swaying hips which made him scowl.

He didn't notice earlier that all her curves were visible and irresistibly tempting. But now he was pissed off about it.

From the corner of his eyes, he noticed how the two men were assessing over her body. Angrily, he hissed causing the two to shift away from him but their eyes still followed the woman's figure and he was awfully angered.

On the other hand, Kiara was not aware of what was going on...she innocently went on stage and greeted the three men. As she was about to make a handshake with them, a loud cough interrupted her. Shrugging it off, she still shook them unaware of the storm in the man's eyes. Even the two men could notice it.

Taking in two deep breaths, she faced the man and collected the trophy. Feng Li thought she wanted to shake him as well but the woman just collected the trophy and left his side. Annoyed, he gritted his teeth as he threw a hard deathly glare at the hosts.

They dare to touch my woman and she allowed it but she wouldn't even shake me too.

The guests were completely unaware of whatever was going on on the stage.

Kiara went straight to the mic. She could not help but cry as she scanned the room.

"I am grateful to be given this title" She saw her name engraved on the trophy and sobbed bitterly.

"Sometimes I rethink and ask myself...if you had stuck to your modelling career, will you be this happy?...and I know the answer...no of course, I would have been miserable"

"You all must be wondering what must be under this mask but believe me...I am a terrible person, I am not true to myself..."

Feng Li forced all his inner control not to embrace his woman and kiss her senseless. One thing he hated was her tears. He hated when she was weak and vulnerable.

"Years ago I had caused pain to a lot of people and right now I am regretting them...I thought I was better alone but then I realise I thought wrong...this trophy here shouldn't even be mine because I don't worth it, I don't worth any of your love at all...I am sadistic that causes pain around" She stopped and touched the rope of the mask.

"I lost the most important person in my life "

She bowed her head and held tight to the trophy.

Brother, I finally made it but you aren't here to witness any of it.
