Chapter 36 The Journey Continues

Back in my human life, growing up I had read tons of books on different hero's and their weapons and equipment and it was said that dwarven made equipment was the rarest of the rare. Only a handful of hero's through out the centuries manages to get a piece of dwarven made equipment and yet I'm going to have a full set made especially for me. It is said that dwarven made equipment is magic in nature and so it will end up growing stronger with its wielder.

With that being the case once Damian finishes the set that he is making I shouldn't ever need to have new gear made again. Well unless some how it gets destroyed somehow, but that's had to believe since dwarven made items are incredibly had to break.

Now that all the excitement for the day is finally over I decide its time for me to get some rest and continue on with my journey towards the Elder Tree in the morning.

Hours pass and I am roused by the steadily increasing golden light generated by the Elder Tree signaling the start of a brand new day here on the third floor.

After getting up and rinsing the sleep off of my face, I begin cleaning up my campsite and begin my ever growing journey towards the Elder Tree. As I make my way from the lake and into the forest I bring out some of the golden peaches I have stored in my spatial ring to break my fast. Finishing off my third golden peach I can no longer feel my earlier hunger.

As I make my way deeper into the forest I have my aura vision skill active allowing me to travel with peace of mind knowing that nothing can ambush me.

Making my way ever deeper I begin to notice that the trees are steadily growing thicker and thicker making the above treetop canopy more dense. It appears that the closer you get to the Elder Tree the bigger the surrounding trees become. It is almost as if they are gaining more nutrients and vitality from the increasing density of the Elder Tree's aura.

(That is correct, the closer you get to the Elder tree the thicker and older the trees surrounding you will become. The Elder tree is the very first tree ever created on this flow, you can even say that all the other trees are its children in a sense. This forest thrives off of the golden aura of the Elder Tree)

"That makes sense, if the Elder Tree is the first tree on this floor its basically the progenitor of this entire forest", I reply back as I look around thoughtfully.

(That is one way of looking at it)

After walking for the entire afternoon it's beginning to get dark now and so I decide to make a small camp in a small grove I have stumbled upon.

Once my meager camp has been set up I take out a variety of fruits and fungi that I have stored away and begin to eat dinner as I relax against the trunk of one of the massive trees in this small grove.

"Hey Neph, what is another way that I can improve my proficiency in my current three laws besides using them", I ask as I munch on a golden peach.

(Traditionally those that have some comprehension of the universal laws will meditate in areas where that certain law is prevalent. So for you since we are in this forest that is saturated in the law of space, you could meditate to further your understanding of it)

"I see, but if I did that I wouldn't be able to get any rest and I would also lose my awareness of my surroundings", I reply while I rub my chin.

(That is also correct, usually those that choose to meditate in areas of law saturation have either people to protect them or they build structures they can reside in that will provide them protection)

"Well I don't have someone who can protect me and it isn't practical to build a fortified structure every time we stop for the night", I mutter thoughtfully.

(This is true, if you want to we can make you a support skill that will enable you to accomplish multiple task at the same time while not affecting what you're doing in real time)

"There is such a skill like that", I ask in shocked amazement.

(Naturally, I have lived for many millennial and know a just number of different skills that could be beneficial to you, the only limiting factor is your strength. You'll need to increase the strength of not only your mind and body but also your soul)

"Let's get started then! I can't wait to get more overpowered skills", I say as I laugh excitedly.

Parallel Mind – A unique skill that allows the user to have multiple separate consciousnesses that are able to assist on a multitude of different tasks. Each consciousness is derived from the users soul, due to this, the number of consciousnesses are directly tied to how strong the users soul is. Current additional consciousness limit : one

"Wow, this skill is crazy, to think that I can have multiple consciousnesses inside of me at all times doing other things while I'm out adventuring", I say in joyful amazement.

"I wonder if my clone will also have multiple consciousnesses", I say falling into thought.

(Your clone is a direct copy of you, so anything that you can do it can also do. So yes, it too will have multiple consciousnesses just like you)

"That's crazy! That means at any given moment there are basically four of me doing something different", I shout in shock.

(That is why I told you that there are a multitude of overpowered skills that I can help you create, you just need to be strong enough to handle them)

"I am really starting to see that, I can't even begin to imagine what kinds of skill you have already planned out to give me in the future", I reply laughing.

(Oh you will find out in due time, all in due time)

"Why do you have to make it sound so suspicious", I say nervously.

I decide not to dwell on Neph's future plans as I activate parallel mind for the first time.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhh", I cry out in pain as my head feels like it is being split in two with a molten axe.

At this very moment my clone also cries out in pain as he too experiences the immense amount of pain that I feel.

After several seconds the pain subsides and I begin to feel my mind expand. It feels as if there is a separate space inside my mind and there is a second consciousness forming by the second. Seconds later my second consciousness is born and becomes active inside this new space inside my mind.

(Inner World created due to formation of a second consciousness)

(Second consciousness has been successfully created)

Inner World – An inner space created inside the user in response to a second consciousness being created. Inside this inner world your original and auxiliary consciousnesses are able to communicate with one and other and also shall information. The user is able to switch which consciousnesses will be the active consciousness and which one will remain inside the inner world. While inside the inner world the users consciousnesses will have increased thought processing at a current ratio of one second to ten seconds.

"Neph, what is going on?!", I exclaim in panic.

(Calm down, with the additional consciousness you've unlocked your inner world. Most beings don't achieve this until they become a Demi-God. Your inner world is directly tied to your soul, which is why normally being don't unlock it until they become a Demi-God and begin to strengthen their soul in the pursuit of immortality)

"Okay, that makes sense. So you are saying that with my second consciousness created in order for it to survive my soul needed to unlock my inner world", I ask as I slowly work through what Neph just said.

(Correct, with your inner world now available to you, you will be able to strengthen your soul a lot easier than by just killing monsters)

"What do you mean? Are there other ways to strengthen your soul besides just killing monsters?", I ask in confusion.

(Of course there is you idiot, do you think everyone in the history of the universe strengthened their soul by killing others?! There are a multitude of different ways a person can strengthen their soul. Since you have this system that converts the souls of the monsters that you kill into items it was simpler to give you the devoured skill before. Now though, since you have unlocked your inner world much sooner than I anticipated, I can create a better unique skill that will help you in strengthening your soul as well as manipulate it along with others souls)

"Really? Don't I have enough insane skills right now? I'm still only D Rank for crying out loud. As I am now I am already the strongest D Rank in the history of the world", I exclaim in outrage.

(I wouldn't go that far, you are definitely a very powerful D Rank but you are not the strongest D Rank to have ever lived. Most of the Demi-Gods and Gods were all overly powerful in their respective Ranks. So the fact that you are so strong as only a D Rank means you will surely make it to Godhood and be one of the most powerful)

"So you are saying I am not a complete abnormality but just on par with select beings that have the potential to become a god huh?", I say after calming down.

"I guess, that makes me feel better then", I say as I rub the back on my head and chuckle.

"Going back to my inner world, what does it mean that my thought process is at a current ratio of one second to ten seconds?", I ask in confusion.

(For every second outside of your inner world ten seconds will pass in your inner world. This is what gives you a faster though processing time. So if you're ever in a life or death battle you will be able to process the on going event ten times faster than what they are actually going. As your soul gains more strength this ratio will of course increase further enhancing your accelerated thought process)

"No way, that's crazy, so I can think ten times faster now that I have my inner word and a second consciousness?", I exclaim in shock.

(That is what I just said, weren't you paying attention)

"Hey, there's no reason to be rude you know, this is all new to me. You have had millennia to get used to this kind of stuff. I have never been stronger than D Rank in my lives", I snap back at him.

(You're right, I apologize, sometimes I forget that you are so young and inexperienced)
