"It's not good! Vice Admiral! Master Finn broke into the lower prison, knocked out the guards, and killed Colonel Mouse!"
A soldier rushed to the deck to report to Garp.
Hearing this, Bogart's face changed drastically as he looked at Garp, whose expression was a mix of annoyance and resignation.
Garp's mouth twitched slightly. This grandson... he just can't sit still without causing some trouble for me, can he?
What should he do now? While Colonel Mouse certainly deserved to die, according to protocol, he should have been sent to Enies Lobby for trial. But if Finn's already done it... well, it's not like they've reached Enies Lobby yet. He needed to think of a way to cover this up—he couldn't let his grandson be charged with abusing military power.
Ugh, that rat... more like a piece of s**t in the Marine...
As Garp thought this over, he absentmindedly pinched his nose, dug out a lump of booger, and flicked it into the sea.
The soldier, waiting for Garp's response, heard him mumble about "rat st" and watched him flick the booger into the water. A lightbulb went off in the soldier's mind. *Could it be that the Vice Admiral is hinting that I should get rid of Colonel Mouse's "rat st" in the sea too?*
Suddenly, he slapped his forehead in realization. "Vice Admiral, I understand what you're implying!"
With that, he turned and hurried off.
Garp was left standing there, baffled. Wait, what? Understand what? I don't even know what I meant!
A short while later, news came that Colonel Mouse had "fallen" into the sea.
Garp looked at Bogart, who was just as puzzled.
"Vice Admiral, that was... quite a smooth move," Bogart quickly commented.
Garp scratched his head and grinned sheepishly. "Finn, you really need to learn some discipline!"
"Vice Admiral, if I may say so, though Master Finn is certainly unconventional, he's targeting villains who truly deserve it. His actions might seem reckless, but I believe he has a strong moral compass."
Since witnessing Finn's Haki in action, Bogart had grown more appreciative of him. He wasn't just flattering Finn—he genuinely believed what he said.
Garp didn't reply immediately but instead allowed a small smile of pride to creep onto his face.
Ten days later, the warship docked in Logue Town.
Garp sent the chef squad to purchase supplies while he, along with some soldiers, headed to the Marine branch in Logue Town. Upon hearing that the legendary Marine hero Garp was arriving, Smoker, the branch chief, rushed out to greet him.
Beside Smoker stood a female Marine soldier dressed in a purple floral shirt, with a slender figure, pink gloves, and a light pink Marine cloak. A famous sword hung at her waist, adding to her striking appearance.
"Ding! Please choose."
"1: Immediately rush to grab Tashigi and run away! Reward: Evil Sword Manual!"
"2: Try to lure Tashigi over with a lollipop and convince her to join you. Reward: Lollipop Swordsmanship!"
"3: Convince Garp to use his Vice Admiral authority to assign Tashigi to your crew. Reward: Shadow Back Swordsmanship!"
Another choice appeared. Finn contemplated it. The first option seemed tempting—just grab her and go...
But wait, the reward was the Evil Sword Manual, which was the Sunflower Manual! No way! If I pick her up without thinking, I might just find myself... well, no thanks!
Finn breathed a sigh of relief, having narrowly avoided disaster. The previous rewards had all been directly integrated into his body. If the Evil Sword Manual worked the same way...
That would've been catastrophic.
"Nice try, system, but you almost tricked me!"
Finn reconsidered his options, focusing on the third one. The reward was clearly the best, but convincing his grandfather to use his power for this might be tricky.
Finn's eyes gleamed with an idea. He pulled Garp aside and pointed subtly at Tashigi.
"Grandpa, you see that young Marine officer with the pink cloak?"
Garp immediately sensed trouble. His face hardened. "I see her. What about it?"
"I like her, Grandpa. I'm going to go grab her right now. The Marine chief here is going to flip out, so I'll leave the cleanup to you, okay?"
Finn made a move as if to rush over.
Garp panicked, grabbing Finn's arm. "No way! Marines don't snatch Marines! You little brat, if you pull any reckless stunts, I'll break your legs!"
"Huh? Marines can't snatch Marines?" Finn feigned confusion. Then, imitating Garp's signature booger-flicking motion, he sighed, looking discouraged.
"Being a Marine has too many rules. No wonder Ace and Luffy both wanted to be pirates. I was the only one tricked into becoming a Marine by you, Grandpa. Maybe I should just become a pirate instead. Then, I could grab that girl without any issues!"
With that, Finn made a move as if to leave.
Garp's heart skipped a beat. His son was already a Revolutionary, and both of his grandsons were dead set on becoming pirates. If Finn followed in their footsteps...
Where would that leave me?
"You brat! Wait a minute!" Garp pulled Finn back and whispered, "Don't worry, let me figure out a way!"
