Chapter one :

Altaïr woke up with a start.

" Where am I ? »

He then looks around him and finds that he is no longer at his workplace, in front of his computer, working on a complex project to be returned to the boss the next morning, but in a classroom with lots of teenagers. who must be between sixteen and eighteen years old.

"But what is going on here? »

An intense pain then twisted his brain. Memories that didn't belong to him popped up in his memory.

"So I died of overwork at work. What a shameful end

When the pain ceased, Altaïr was finally able to analyze the memories. The former owner of this body was a young boy of seventeen, who had the same first name as him, living in a small apartment given to him by the State since the death of his parents on the front.

"His parents died atrociously, devoured during an invasion of mutated beasts. Wait ??? Mutant beasts??? But what is this world? »

From the memories of ancient Altaïr, this world was like Earth but a mysterious energy suddenly appeared five hundred years ago, transforming the entire planet. It was now twice its original size, wild animals and plants had mutated into monstrous and ferocious beasts.

A huge portal had also appeared, leading to another world that Men had renamed "the door to hell". Indeed from this door had come out all the most unimaginable and devilishly strong monsters but also very belligerent peoples who massacred humans by the billions.

Luckily, humans managed to awaken thanks to a human who found a seed allowing to awaken the potential and the specific talent of each human with mana.

Thus emerged the famous genetic warriors, capable of the greatest things like controlling the elements of nature, possessing a force capable of breaking diamonds, running at supersonic speed and many others, the counter-attack then finally began.

Humans awoke one by one, they became strong in the shadows, enslaved by races from the other world and when at last they had enough strength, the revolution began.

The races were pushed back from Earth and the humans liberated. Our ancestors then entered the gates of hell and what they saw terrified them forever. Those who felt strong and powerful to have defeated the invader quickly understood that these people who had invaded them were only weak.

On the verge of despair for the survival of the human race in front of these power plants capable of annihilating humans in a single breath, our ancestors then encountered the elves. One of the seven great clans in the other world. These seven clans often clash for dominance. But each is almost equal in strength to the other in terms of power and so they had to share it.

The elves therefore took the humans under their protection, they promised to protect them against the other clans but not for the wild monsters or tide of beasts other than the clans. It is not uncommon for these clans to host vassal races.

The human race was therefore able to be protected from extinction but the governance of the Earth was taken away from them and shared among the seven great clans.

Today humans are only thirty million and live scattered in cities on a territory given to them by the elves.

"So that's what happened. The situation in this world is more than catastrophic"

"ALTAIR! »

I jumped so hard that my body almost flew up to the ceiling.

"Maybe the information for tomorrow's Power Awakening Ceremony doesn't interest you?" the professor yelled at Altaïr.

" Sorry sir "

"Anyway, given your grades, I have little hope that you will become a pillar of humanity"

The class laughed.

"Fortunately the ceremony is tomorrow, I couldn't stand the smell of this garbage can anymore," a student whispered, looking at me.

Several of these acolytes nodded with a laugh.

"Let's resume" then said the professor, fixing me with a dark look.

"So your ceremony will be held this afternoon in the school hall. We will call each of you in turn and you will only have to eat a seed before placing your hand on a huge crystal ball which will reveal to us the specificity and greatness of your talent with mana. Questions ? »

"If we don't awaken our powers what happens to us? asked a student in the front row.

The professor looked at him for a few moments before answering.

"You will be sent to classes to follow training in trades that do not require knowing how to use mana, such as in logistics or other for the common life of a city. »

The students grimaced, no one wanted that kind of life instead of being a genetic warrior with high social status and great wealth.

" GOOD. You can dispose, go home to rest, tomorrow is perhaps the most important day of your life. »

The chairs made a crashing sound as they slid across the floor as the students got up to leave. The owner of this body had no friends due to his anti-social character and lack of achievement.

"Maybe it's better that way after all"

Altaïr put on the hood of his sweatshirt and headed back towards his apartment. After walking for a good twenty minutes, he pushed the door of his apartment with the number 123 written on it.

Altaïr dropped his school bag on the floor as he exhaled.

"I'm going to take some time to get used to myself"

He looked around. The apartment is shabby and small, looking more like a mini box than an apartment for a human.

"I have to find a way to make money quickly. Impossible for me to continue to live there! »

[Ding...Time elapsed, host will be forcibly transported to cheater's room]

Altaïr then felt a force sucking him in and his soul flew out of his body, which suddenly collapsed on the ground like a puppet whose wires had been cut.

When the suction force ended, he stood in front of a huge wheel with a multitude of boxes.

[Welcome host, this wheel will determine your future unique cultivator golden finger]

[That luck be with you]

"So that's how it is, today will determine whether or not I can become the greatest genetic warrior of the human race"

Altaïr was familiar with the golden finger of the transmigrator, reading novels on the internet has always been his passion but he never imagined one day that it would happen to him.

He took a deep breath, put his hand on the wheel and then turned it forcefully.

The wheel began to spin at high speed, the inscriptions engraved on each of the boxes became illegible. Impossible to know which was good and which was bad.

Eventually his speed began to slow greatly until it stopped.

" SO ?????? »

[Ding…Congratulations host, your golden finger is having the ability to re-enter a pocket dimension every day to fight against all sorts of monsters for endless rewards]

"Uh it's rather original, I don't know if I should be happy with it or not"

[You will discover all this after your awakening ceremony]

Altaïr then woke up sweating in his body.

"I look forward to discovering this golden finger and progressing on the path of cultivation. »

He took his meal, finally meal in quotes because the food he has with the little means that the government provides him only allows him to buy canned food and pasta.

So after this "hearty" meal, Altaïr put his backpack back on and headed for the school for his awakening ceremony.

Still with his hood and his back down, Altaïr entered with all his comrades in the hall of the school where the ceremony of awakening of the powers must take place.

"Welcome, welcome dear students or should I say maybe future stalwarts of the human race," the headmaster said.

Altaïr raised his head and observed this man who gave off a dangerous aura. He was dressed in a sleek black and white suit that made his white hair and dark blue eyes stand out.

"When your name is called, you would come and eat the seed that Professor Black will give you and then you will touch the crystal ball to find out if you have the chance to become a genetic warrior. »

The pressure and stress began to mount throughout the room. The nervousness showed in the faces of some students, some even had their legs shaking.

"Adam Netlibre"

A normal boy walked onto the stage, he swallowed the seed and a few moments later his body emitted a voluptuous smoke as if his body became boiling at the awakening of his potential.

He put his smoking hands on the crystal ball which then lit up.

"Congratulations you have successfully awakened. congratulated the headmaster.

The light suddenly went out before turning back on a dark red color, a little black.

The principal suddenly closed his eyes before announcing:

"Adam Netlibre, successfully awakened in magma manipulation, normal talent. »

All the students applaud, manipulation of magma is a rare talent, although the strength of his talent is only normal if all goes well he will become an important strength for the human race.

Adam with a proud smile descended from the platform and returned to the rows of students.

The ceremony continued, the students passed one after the other. The majority do not have the talent to become genetic warriors and the others have only awakened powers found everywhere such as amplified strength or different physical characteristics superior to their peers.

Finally Altaïr's turn came.

"Altaïr Saito"

He went up on the stage, the professor looked at him with kindness and benevolence before giving him the seed.

It was a scarlet red seed that shone faintly with an unearthly glow.

Without asking any questions, he ate it. Its taste was neither good nor bad.

A hot current then crossed his whole body, Altaïr had the impression of having been put in an oven and cooked like a veal roll.

Beads of sweat dripped from his forehead.

[Ding...Detection of an ingested power seed]

[Ding...Awakening the original talent of the host]

"Altaïr come over here" called the headmaster.

Altaïr walked over to the huge crystal ball and put both hands on it. The ball lit up.

"Awakened Successfully"

A sword then suddenly materialized inside the crystal ball. Very soon after, the sword suddenly lit up with a red light that released small flashes.

"Powers in the art of wielding the red lightning saber, talent of supreme level" then said the headmaster, stuttering.

A hubbub fills the entire school hall.

"Supreme talent is exceedingly rare throughout the human race and even in the superior races. Only a select few of the human race have this privilege. Be proud of it my child. the headmaster then said to Altaïr with a much softer and benevolent tone.

Altaïr suddenly thought of his childhood dream before his transmigration, that of becoming a samurai, of fighting with honor, without fear of the enemy or of death and for his principles and values.

This supreme talent in the handling of the red flash saber coupled with his golden finger revived his old dream of being part of this warrior caste.

Altaïr returned to his place under the congratulations of his classmates and teachers. If people without talents were despised, conversely those who had them were respected to the highest degree.

The ceremony ended without any other major events.

" GOOD. Students who have awakened their power will be placed in special classes to prepare for the university entrance exam. For the others, you will take courses to obtain your diploma in order to be eligible for training in an ordinary trade. »

The concerned students bowed their heads in shame and disappointment.

Back at his apartment, Altaïr landed in his bed. The day was exhausting and sleep caught up with him. But just as he was about to sink into the darkness of sleep, a mechanical voice sounded.

[Beep… Transferring to pocket size]

"Shit, I forgot"

Altaïr opened his eyes. He was no longer in his bed but in an immense plain. Ahead of him were a few hills with grass and flowers blowing in the wind.

"So far nothing scary"

MEOOW

Altaïr turned around with a start.

" What is ? »

A small blue cat stood in front of him. The cute look and the soft hair, he seemed harmless.

"How cute are you"

The cat raised its little paw and suddenly gigantic claws came out.

Altaïr paled with fear.

"You're not cute anymore," he shouted as he ran away.

A chase then ensued. A human was running away from a small blue cat at full speed.

But even though Altaïr has woken up as a martial warrior, he hasn't had time to train his powers yet. The blue cat caught up with him very quickly, he jumped towards him and kicked with his gigantic claws.

Altaïr in a reflex of survival, dodged while lowering but this action made him fall backwards. He crashed full length into the dust.

"I'm going to have to come up with a plan quickly. »

His gaze dropped, dust strewn on the ground and on the left side, as if by some miracle a pebble of medium size and whose point was cut was there.

Altaïr raised his head, the cat approached slowly, licking his chops because he knew his hunt was successful and his dinner assured.

Altaïr closed his hand and a handful of dust filled his palm. He waited until the cat was close enough to swing at his muzzle.

MOOOOOW

The cat mewed its anger and pain, the dust had gotten into its eyes and into its nose giving it intense scratching and tingling.

Altaïr rushed to take the stone on the left and while the cat was blinded, he stabbed it in the eye.

The stone sank smoothly, reaching the cat's brain.

He staggered back for a few moments before his small body crumbled into the dust.

"If just a little cat is that scary, I'm scared for what's to come," Altaïr thought to himself as he wiped the cold sweat from his brow due to the fear of death.

The blue cat's body suddenly dematerialized into small points of light that flew into the air. In place of the corpse, small white balls levitated a few centimeters from the ground.

" Take ? »

Altaïr approached cautiously. He reached out a shaking hand and touched one of the white balls. She then disappeared.

A stream of warm air rushes through Altaïr's body with the same blow.

[Ding… Kudos to the host.]

[Rank increased. Rank 1 --> Rank 2 Beginner Genetic Warrior Apprentice]

"Awesome I leveled up just with one of those little orbs of light!!"

Suddenly a black grime came out of the pores of Altaïr's skin. An abominable smell then fills the surrounding air.

"What the hell is this horrible thing, it stinks! he said with an air of disgust bordering on vomiting.

Looking at the remaining orbs of light, Altaïr made his decision.

"I'll wash up later, the path of strength is more important!" »

When he was done absorbing the other orbs, Altaïr's strength surged forward.

[Rank 2 Beginner Genetic Warrior Apprentice -->Rank 4]

" I'm almost there. When we reach rank 5, we then enter a state of enlightenment and we understand a technique specific to our power. After this first technique, one enters this state only by chance. Some warriors have already spent their lives with only one and the same technique.

Altaïr started walking again, his much stronger body now fully recovered from his exhaustion from his previous fight and he now had no trouble running fast and long. If he were to encounter the blue cat again, the fight would end very quickly.

The stone still sharp in one hand, he went back to looking for another beast to attack.

He then arrived in tall grass, taller than him. Its vision is therefore very limited. He could only hear the surrounding noises and they were disturbing. Kind of growls.

"This noise oddly reminds me of dogs"

As soon as these words left his mouth several shadows fell on him crushing him with their weight.

Altaïr saw huge black dogs, their red eyes reminiscent of hell. They were his last thoughts before the dogs ate him alive.

"AAAAH" exclaimed Altaïr, getting up suddenly. He found himself back in his apartment. Relief invaded his body but it was quickly replaced by pain.

Her body was shaking, her limbs twitching, and as she pleaded for the pain to stop, time passed.

When the pain finally subsided, Altaïr stood up, shaking, his cheeks wet with tears. He went to take a hot shower.

"The pain of death is terrible but the opportunities are great. Bearing pain is nothing for a samurai," Altaïr encouraged himself in the shower.
