The phosphorescent glow of the moss began to subside as the diversion's effects waned, leaving the cavern in a state of relative calm. Johan's self-talk was focused, 'This is it,' he thought, 'time to capitalize on its disorientation.'
Ken, with his heightened Ghoul senses, observed the creature's reactions closely. He gave Johan a subtle signal, indicating that it was the right moment to proceed with the blinding tactic. 'Let's do this,' Ken thought, 'now's our chance.'
Johan's self-talk was resolute, 'Don't miss this opportunity,' he thought, 'we can't afford to let it slip away.'
The creature's central eye remained narrowed, still affected by the unfamiliar scent, but its other eyes were beginning to regain focus. 'This is the window we've been waiting for,' Johan thought, 'let's make it count.'
