Stepping into the twelfth floor, Johan felt a change in the atmosphere. The oppressive stone corridors opened up into an expansive chamber, the ceiling disappearing into shadowy heights above. The torches that lined the wall flickered inconsistently, casting dancing shadows that seemed to move in rhythm with the chilling gusts of air.
In the center of the cavernous room was a raised platform, bathed in a ghostly luminescence that seemed to seep from the stone itself. It was upon this stage that the final act of his journey would play out.
