It's been a month since the Asura Tiger incident and it had faded from everyone's minds. Jake did the only thing he could during that time. He trained.
He hadn't shown up to school since the memorial service and had went to the forests of Canada to level up. The rest of the world had changed. People had changed. Animals changed. Even the plants had changed.
Creatures that had evolved, civilization soon came to turns with the fact that their "advanced weaponry" could barely hurt them.
The concept of the weak are devoured by the strong became more prevalent. Those with strong, developed abilities were prioritized by governments and those that hadn't developed their abilities or had weak abilities were ostracized.
Now, don't think for a second that the humans were being pushed back into the stone age. No, instead they had many people that could, to an extent, compete with the average creatures. Where a high level creature was found though, humans were forced to withdraw due to not being able to defeat it.
The creatures were nicknamed "Fiends" by the media.
Humans that lived in large cities realized that they were safer and that the beasts didn't attack where there were a lot of people. In consequence to this, those third world countries in places like Africa, parts of South America, and parts of Asia, were completely overrun by Fiends, the people that lived there long dead.
~~~~~~~~~~~
A pack of animals that looked like giant wolves were running for their lives, terrified of whatever was chasing them.
A blur flashed behind them, catching up to the pack and all of a sudden, one of the slower wolves was immediately snagged by whatever was chasing them. It was swooped off of the ground and held by the neck by a nearly naked human.
Hovering 5 feet over the ground, Jake looked at the struggling Fiend in his hand.
After finishing off the rest of the wolves, Jake returns to a cave he made his. There used to be a mutated King Wolf but he killed it a week ago.
He looked at the several things in his Inventory including 5 Lottery Tickets, several pieces of different Superman suits, and several different potions and elixirs. He kept them because they might be useful if he ever met something that could injure himself.
Thinking about his life a month ago, Jake was glad that he left it behind him. If he had been taking things seriously back then, he could have maybe detected the Asura Tiger before it attacked. He couldn't go back to school and face everyone. The day after the incident, Jake went to school and everyone was in his face trying to be his friend, trying to be his girlfriend, but he saw that his old friends, Jordan included, looked at him like he was some freak.
'There's no way I will go back and face those stares again.'
As he was getting lost in his thoughts, he heard a scream.
'Shit! What's someone doing all the way in here?'
With a flash, he left the cave, flying above the tree line towards the sound of the scream. With a thought, Jake's face and body immediately changed into that of a man who was around 25, with a wide jaw, his messy brown hair turned into greased, slicked back, black hair. His face didn't even remotely resemble his original at all.
His body went through an even bigger change. His originally slim, lean frame became a massive, muscular body. His broad shoulders and large, defined upper body muscles rippled almost exaggeratedly. He literally became Superman.
The equipment in his Inventory made a new Superman suit. His red cape covered his shoulders and attached to the 'S' on his chest which was white with red filling in the background. The cape fell down to calves, his suit was black and had a thick red line running down both arms, all the way to the back of his gloves. His belt had a white 'S' on it and from both sides, it split into what looked like a sideways 'W'. On his feet were big grey/white boots that attached to knee-pads.
With the transformation complete, Jake took on the alternate identity of Clark Kent. As ironic and dumb as it sounded, he found out that the system could affect the real world. When he created the identity of Clark Kent, he found that in his Inventory was also identification cards and birth certificates as if the person Clark Kent had lived.
He quickly found where the scream came from due to his ability to see sound waves and pinpoint the location quickly. Switching to thermal, he could see a person was holding off seven Fiends.
[Dire Wolf (Level 18)
Known for its massive size, Dire Wolves were the ancestors of most wolves now and were extinct long ago...]
Late chapter... I feel like death. IDK what it is but I'm freaking exhausted. Well whatever. The info dump is real in this chapter. Sorry for that. Also, thank you guys sooooo much for the PS. I'm actually shocked at how popular my book has gotten and the interactive atmosphere I have with you guys is great! Love it.
