A/N: 12/25/2018 This is long overdue but the beginning chapters suck ass. I sucked at writing and I'm not going to do anything to these chapters but trust me. It gets much much better. You guys will love this book hopefully so don't just drop it after the first few chapters. God I sucked at writing lol. Thanks for the patience as it took me a while to get better.

"Hey Jake, come over here!"

A boy in his late teens, sitting on a school bench at Boston University, turns his head towards his best friend, Jordan, who called for him. He reluctantly puts his phone down and walks over to him. "Jordan, you just had to send me whatever you're trying to show me," he murmurs under his breath.

Jordan seemingly ignoring what Jake was complaining about, shows him his laptop which is displaying the cover of the very first Superman comic. Both Jake and Jordan were comic book nerds and both of them loved to geek out to both DC and Marvel. Jake leaned more towards DC and its darkness while Jordan swung towards Marvel and their vast universe. "Look it's Action Comics 1, where Superman first made his appearance to the public. Wow the date on it is June 30th, 1938!"

With really just the words, "Superman" and "Comic", Jake was already hooked on what Jordan had to show him and was already memorizing the website domain so he too could read the comic. Jordan then turns to Jake and asks him, "Have you settled into your dorm yet?"

Jake nods to him and tells him, "My roommate is this bodybuilder named Mathew Mood. He told me that he wants to be a surgeon and is currently studying anatomy. He seems pretty chill." Jordan begins to pack his laptop up and both of them walk to the school cafeteria to get something to eat because Jordan was hungry and it was getting hot.

Along the way, as Jake is looking at the campus, he stops where he is standing and watches as a beautiful young woman with long, dark hair walks over to a tree and sits beneath. Her S shaped body and perfect face seem to make the scenery seem magical and Jake loses himself in it. Jordan notices that Jake has stopped and when he turns around and sees who he is looking at, he shakes his head and whispers to him, "That girl is way out of our league man. Her name is Marisa Collins and she may have just arrived at the same time as us but it is rumored that she has been asked by 50 guys to go out. Hell, even the school website states her as being in the top 3 belles on campus. Look at that poor guy. He's just asking to get shot down."

"Isn't that Victor Rodriguez, the son of the millionaire, Paul Rodriguez? I don't believe he knows his limits but she has shot down several young rich nobles already. Let's see how she rejects him," the two overhear someone in a forming crowd of observers say.

Right on cue, he points at a young and handsome looking guy in nice clothes, walk up to her and say a few words only for her to not even look at him and say, "I am waiting for someone else. Thank you for the compliments though." The poor guy smiled to her and turned away, looking like he just witnessed his whole family get murdered.

"Serves him right for thinking about getting with our new goddess," said one of the observers.

The two good friends walk past her and the crowd of people towards the cafeteria. Jake tries to put the incident out of his mind but the image of her seems to be burned into it. They order food but Jordan notices that Jake is in a daze and gives him a piece of his chocolate cake. Jake looks up and sees Jordan smiling at him and he smiles back and finally gets over Marisa. "Hopefully you can start reading Action Comics 1 and read about Superman's original origins," Jordan says with a laugh.

Jake smiles and the two of them start to get into a heated debate over which universe is better, DC or Marvel. They have talked about this too many times that they both know each other's pros and cons but they still enjoy trying to come up with new arguments. After eating and nothing eventful happening, they both go their separate ways, back to their dorms. Jake opens the door and sees that the lights are off so his roommate, Mathew, isn't back yet. "Probably at the gym," Jake thinks and he takes his jacket off. He washes up and stops to look in the mirror at himself. He knows he isn't very handsome but with his clean skin, nice jawline, and dark brown eyes, he also knows he can still get a girl...if only he worked up the courage to ask one out. He ran his hands through his short light brown hair that almost appeared to be blonde and told himself the same thing he did every time he looked at himself. "Jake, don't die a virgin."

After cleaning up, he went to his room and started up his laptop and as it was starting up, he began to make himself some coffee to drink. While waiting for his coffee, he went on his phone and saw that he had 6 new messages all from the same number. Jake groaned when he saw who it was and called the number back. After a second or two, a girl picked up the phone and said pouting, "Big brother, why haven't you been talking to me? I sent you so many texts but you haven't texted me back."

Jake rolls his eyes and says after taking a sip of the coffee that just finished brewing, nearly burning himself, "Sis, I just got to school. Cut big brother some slack. I met Jordan and he got here yesterday so he showed me around campus for a bit."

"Jordan? I hate that guy. He always looks at me funny. Oh, and big brother, I almost forgot. Have you been watching the news? There is supposed to be a meteor shower in a few minutes. Don't forget to watch it!"

Remembering the Superman comic he wanted to read, he hesitatingly told her, "Sure. I'll try to see some of it sis. You be good. You will soon be following your big brother in going to college next year so do well in school."

The young girl responded, "Yup," before they said their goodbyes to one another and hung up.

"A meteor shower or Superman?" After a second of thinking he made his decision and was immediately in front of his laptop, pulling up the website to read the Comic. Jake never knew that his decision would change his life.
