Chapter 23 - After the Escape

Alix was taken aback and fixed her gaze on Sir Linn.

"Sir Linn, you don't make jokes like that, I'm just a commoner," Alix responded.

"So what? You need to take responsibility" Link stated.

"Responsibility? Sir Linn doesn't crack jokes like that "She responded

"Link Connect is my real name; what is yours?" Link stated.

"Alix Raven, Sir Link," replied Alix.

"You are now my wife, Alix Raven," Link declared.

"Wife? This is not a good idea, sir "Alix responded

"You sacrifice yourself to save me, and I even take you the first time, I'll take responsibility," Link explained.

"You remember it?" Alix asked, blushing.

"Of course," Link responded.

"But it was an accident, so you don't have to," Alix stated

"It was just an unintentional kiss!" Alix stated in an embarrassing manner.

"That was my first kiss, you know," Link said, his face a little irritated.

What happened was that Alix and Link were escaping during the process. They both kissed inadvertently.

Alix felt helpless in the face of Link's behavior and left the room. And decided to go out to eat for dinner.

When the old couple noticed it, the old lady went with Alix and the old man went with Link.

"What did you do, young man, your wife left you like that?" The old man inquires.

"Sorry sir, we are still a newlywed couple, sadly it was a fixed marriage, I love her but she doesn't," Link explained.

Link simply made up a fictitious love story.

"I think your wife is just shy; she adores you," the old man replied.

"Really? When I ask her for a kiss earlier, she declines "Link responded.

"Hehe you are so aggressive, young man, trust me, she stays by your side for two days, taking care of you," the old man smiled.

Link blushed as he imagined Alix undressing him while he was unconscious. This gets him excited and his body warms up.

Link approaches the old man for advice. Uncle Qui and auntie Kimi were the names of the elderly couple. They both had very random topics.

Meanwhile, Auntie Kimi and Alix were having their conversation at the public market.

"What transpired?" Auntie Kimi inquired.

"It was nothing, nothing major," Alix responded.

Auntie Kimi remarked, "It appears that you two are not married at all."

Alix is at a loss for words. Auntie Kimi, on the other hand, assured her that she has no ill will or plans to expose the two.

Then she explained that she and her group were hired to escort a young lady to marry Sir Lex, but due to an ambush, both of them were separated from the group. Sir Linn was an envoy sent by Sir Lex to guide them.

"So that's what happened, you're afraid of being a burden to your friends if Sir Linn dies, so you protect him?" Auntie Kimi inquires

"Yes, and he tried to save me but got hurt because he thought I was weak. I'm confident he's doing his job "Alix responded

"Of course, that's what happened, but do you like him?" Auntie Kimi inquires

"Of course not," Alix responded.

"But he appears to have fallen for you," Auntie Kimi observed.

"He was just disoriented by what happened; he might have confused me with someone else, which is impossible," Alix explained.

"To love is bittersweet; I won't ask for anything more if you aren't at ease." Kimi, Auntie

They both buy everything they require in peace.

Meanwhile, a couple of days ago.

Dion, Reid, and White were concerned about Alix's disappearance for two days. They unexpectedly escaped together after receiving a message that he was fine and was with Sir Linn.

They were relieved that Alix was still alive but disappointed in the second Princess Pryce. She showed no concern for Alix and even stated that a girl like Alix deserved to die because she was a flirt.

They all agree on one thing: if this ungrateful woman wasn't a princess, they'd kill her. They intend to inform anyone about Alix's whereabouts at first, but they are summoned by Sir Lex.

When they arrived at the Hall, they saw Sir Lex, the Second Princess, and a few other important people.

"Sir Lex, you are a legend. How can we assist you?" The trio's responsibilities

"Do you happen to know where my older brother is?" Mr. Lex

"Mr. Lex, We're sorry, but we're not sure why you're asking us, sir," Dion responded

Sir Lex directs his butler to show them the portrait of his brother Link.

"This, sir Linn," White explained.

"Do you know who he is? and got to know him?" Sir Lex inquires

"Yes, he said he was your envoy to lead us here," Reid responded

"Does he know where he is?" Sir Lex inquired.

"He was with Alix, one of our team members, and she was fleeing, and Sir Linn followed her because he thought she was the second Princess," Dion explained.

Sir Lex inquires as to what transpired. The trio explained that Alix was the 2nd Princess's double and that she was there to protect the 2nd Princess from ambush.

Dion and Reid were tasked with protecting the true second Princess in order for her to be the first to escape, while Alix and White were tasked with surviving and escaping.

"So that's what happened, White, and why are you apart from Alix? and why was my brother with her?" Sir Lex inquired.

But White was cut off before he could respond.

"Because she was flirting with your brother, that scheming woman knows your brother is wealthy, and she wants his money," the 2nd Princess declared.

"Is that correct?" Sir Lex inquires

But the trio is powerless to speak because the 2nd Princess cast a spell on them while fleeing. They have a binding contract with her that they cannot disobey her commands or she will kill Alix.

She sends them a mental message warning them that if they disobey her, she will kill Alix. And inform Sir Lex that what she said was correct.

The trio was shaken, and they regretted accepting this mission this time.

White simply nodded in response. Then Sir Lex was enraged by what had occurred. And the second Princess told him, even more, lies about Alix.

Alix, she claimed, was scheming and obsessed with money. She even persuades her teammates to carry out her orders. She also stated that Alix intended to murder her in order to become the second Princess.

The trio knew the truth, but they couldn't say anything because they didn't want to jeopardize Alix's safety. They only blamed themselves for being trapped in this binding contract.

Because Sir Lex has faith in his fiancee, she entrusts the operation to find his brother Link and punish Alix on the server.

Unfortunately, the 2nd Princess was successful in changing the trio's memories this time. And change it to her advantage, ensuring Alix is the villain.

It will take two days to get to the small town where Alix and Sir Link were staying.

Even Sir Lex unconsciously agreed to a legally binding contract. That he will only marry her and give her all of his property.

"That ugly woman is attempting to steal my Link!" Princess Pryce let out a yell.

"I declared Link to be my husband the moment I saw him, but he was too preoccupied with his business. But now that his brother is under my command, he will be mine soon "She went on to say

The trio, including the second Princess Pryce, traveled to the small town. To assassinate Alix and kidnap Link.

She bade Sir Lex farewell and promised to bring his big brother back and make Alix pay for her sins.

Now let's return to the present.

Uncle Qui was concerned when Link coughed up blood.

"What's the matter, young man?" Uncle Qui inquires

"My brother is in danger" Link responded.
