Chapter 54

[The elections ongoing here in Ghana so the day had been long and tiring. That is why I am only posting now. Quite late, but here it is. Enjoy]

It had been two days since I returned; I had already received my bounty and was honestly contemplating going after more. The next day would be the day of graduation. Finally, after obtaining what I need, I could begin setting my plans in motion. I was at home preparing to leave when I came downstairs and saw Mebuki and Kizashi on the couch; They were being very weird. I never really understood how they could survive without a TV in the room; Can't miss what you never had, I guess.

The couple were grinning and making weird eye contact with each other. Of course, I already knew what they were up to. I rolled my eyes and was about to leave when I heard her voice from behind me, "Don't come home tonight."

"Huh? What do you mean?" It couldn't be, right? I know she said they would have another baby, but what would be the point of booking the entire house the entire day?

"Exactly as your mother meant. Don't come home tonight; Your mother and I have plans. You can come if you want but don't say I did not warn you." Kizashi stated in an as-a-matter-of-factly without even turning to look at me.

"Is that really something you say to your twelve-year-old daughter, irresponsible old bags? What if something happens to me?" They both turned to look at me like I'm the dumb one. I sighed. Whatever, I had money now and it was time to get my own place; Although I would not be using it for long, it would be nice to have a place I of my own.

"Fine. But take it anywhere near my stuff, and I will shave that stupid hair own your head bald. Do.Not.Test.Me!" I glared at the gulping Kizashi who knew I was very serious.

Walking out the house, I saw two people who looked completely homeless. Aoi and Kouki; They both had deep blushes on their face. "They were creeping you out too huh?" The nodded.

"They kick you out as well?" They nodded again.

"*sigh*, come on." We began walking through town heading towards a place I had in mind for my new place. As we passed Ichiraku's, we saw both Uzumaki and Hyuga couple walking out. Just the people I wanted to meet.

"Oh, Naruto, Hinata. I'm glad I caught you. There is something important I need to talk to you about." I introduced Aoi and Kouki to both of them, with Hinata threatening to gut Aoi if she came near her Naruto. I rolled my eyes at her.

"So, what is it?" Naruto asked

"Walk with us a bit. We can't have people listening in." They both frowned and could tell the importance of the situation. They were intrigued as well. Wondering what could be that serious, especially knowing my strength.

We made our way towards a section of the village which was slightly closer to the gates. There was a decent house there that had been on sale for a long time without anyone making a bid for. Plus, from the investigations, the original owners were killed during the Uchiha Massacre; I felt there was a chance they were ninja and their deaths planned. Or it could be me overthinking things again.

Either way, the price was cheap, yet no one had come for it since then. The rest were surprised I was planning to get a house. After making the necessary arrangements, the house was officially mine. The realtor was so happy, he was crying.

"Why does it feel like you called us here to help you clean this place up." Naruto glared. Hinata was releasing killing intent while threatening to pull out a kunai; I had just ruined a perfectly good day for her to have a date with her beloved. As for Aoi and Kouki, they did not really mind. They were just happy they could go somewhere today after being kicked out of the house.

After reassuring the couple there was something to talk about, which calmed them slightly, we cleaned up the whole place and bought the necessary items for the house. After four hours, most of the money I made was gone, but it was well worth it.

Sitting around a table in the main room eating snacks for a job well done, I turned to Naruto with a serious expression. "Naruto, does anyone else know either you or Hinata have been training under Guy or Kakashi?" The room became solemn as both Naruto and Hinata looked at each other and shook their heads before turning to me to answer.

"I doubt it. Maybe just Iruka-sensei. He was the one that helped me find Guy. What is this about?" I did not answer him but pretended to think for a bit saying to him.

"Mm. It should work, then" I mumbled to myself and looked up at them. "Naruto. I need you to fail tomorrow's graduation." My words surprised both of them, but they kept silent, waiting for me to explain. I was expecting Hinata to flare up, considering I just asked her man to fail the graduation he had been looking forward to.

"There may be a spy hiding at the academy. My intel tells me that spy is Mizuki." Everyone became shocked at my statement. Naruto and Hinata, because they would never have suspected the sensei that had been teaching them for so long to be a spy, and Aoi and Kouki because they never would have thought such a village would actually hold a spy.

"What make you say so?" Hinata asked. The accusation of a spy was a serious issue, after all.

"I've got a good source. From what I have gathered, he seems to be after one thing, and it seems his time might be running out. There is a chance of him making his move after the graduation." I patiently explained to them.

"But what has that got to do with Naruto failing the exam?" Hinata enquired once more. Naruto nodded as well, wanting to know.

"If he is running out of time, then who better to use than a failed student desperate enough to do anything to pass. I believe that is where Naruto-kun's failure would play a part." Kouki's soothing voice sounded out as he looked serious in a thinking pose.

"Ah, my Kouki as so smart!" I winked at him, causing him to blush and look down, his sister laughing at the side. It enlightened the couple and got them thinking as well. I decided to move things along and speak out some things before they ask and waste time.

"Before you ask, do not forget, if he really is the spy, then he has been integrated in our village for so long without anyone really knowing it. I am sure the old man Hokage already knows but cannot move without evidence." Everyone nodded in agreement before I continued.

"I picked Naruto because, well let's be honest; You may have quit your pranks, but let's face it, everyone else that does not know the new you still believe you to be a failure and an eyesore; Mizuki included. Even I've seen how he looks at you. He can try to hide it but it's there." Again, Naruto and Hinata both nodded.
