'Seems allowing the body to somewhat heal itself is still best.' Quickly thinking things through I asked, genuinely surprised, "Don't tell me you know medical ninjutsu?"
"Well, I am no Lady Tsunade, but I know a thing or two." she replied, her face betraying her modesty. This was good for me. I was beginning to think about how I was going to convince Tsunade to take me as her student, but having a bit of knowledge about it might help.
What? There was no way I was going to fumble around, trying to recreate her jutsus from possible correct or incorrect explanations from who knows how many different fanfics when the originator was right there and still alive.
I nodded to her and replied, "I want to learn.". She then raised her head to look at me before looking back down at the food on her plate. Her head was down but I could see that annoying smirk slowly forming on her own.
"You knocked yourself out just from running a bit and you want to learn medical ninjutsu? Ah, children." Her words uttered slowly without looking up.
Rolling my eyes at her I ignored her jab and began concentrating on future plans. I needed to get my hands on the reanimation jutsu as it was integral to one of my contingency plans. Of course, I had no plans in dying, but if I did, it would not be bad idea to return as a never chakra depleting, constant body repairing, reanimated monster.
'I would not be able to perform the jutsu on myself so that would mean, over the next couple of years I would need to make a disreputable or famous name for myself, so I can get reanimated by Kabuto. That is probably a bit of a stretch.
The next best thing would be to get strong enough to go study with Orochimaru without him plainly killing me or arriving in perfect time to not have him take over my body; and I know just the perfect time to go to him. At least that way I can get close enough to Kabuto to convince him to reanimate me if I ever died.
The most important would be the flying raijin (Flying thunder God) technique. A beautiful jutsu like that enough to not only strengthen my arsenal for fights or escapes, but the most important reason I need it would be…'
"If you are done eating then prepare yourself, we need to move." Mebuki spoke, forcing me out of my thoughts as I watched her almost done with the cleanup. I helped her finish up the rest of the cleanup and packed our stuff in preparation to move once more. During the entire cleanup and pack up I saw Mebuki constantly smiling and smirking which annoyed me to no end.
'She is probably happy she is going to see me suffering like earlier before.' Just when I was about to give her a piece of my mind, she spoke out loud, "How nice of you to actually wait for us to finish our lunch. Now that we are done how about you come out already?"
'What? There are actually people around?' Judging by her tone they did not seem to be friendly, else why would they have hidden themselves all this while?
Just as she finished speaking, five dangerous looking men appeared before us. One shirtless with very few front teeth left seemed to be the leader of their group.
"We really are on a roll huh? First was the village and now them." Hoodlum 1 said out lout, tapping his spear on his shoulder.
"Don't you know leader is the luckiest man alive. Soon he will become the boss of our whole group." Hoodlum 2 spoke trying to flatter the shirtless leader.
The flattery seemed to work as he grinned even wider, confidently showing his only two upper teeth left. "Remember, I have my fun with the both of them before we send them back to the cave with the others." He ordered his group which earned a few perverse chuckles and laughs. With some hoping they could pick after their leader was done.
"Oh, there are others?" Mebuki asked with an amused expression.
They were all grinning like idiots in response, clearly happy chancing upon easy defenseless prey like the two of us. It made no sense honestly. They kept grinning and laughing with lecherous faces the whole time without the least bit of guard up.
I did not understand in the least. Was their confidence in their numbers or actual strength? How could they have their guards down so easy when she had already sensed them and even asked them to show themselves? I was torn between experiencing the classic cliché and the wonder of their level of intellect.
Of course, I was not worried. I basically had wonder woman standing in front of me. Right at the next moment I saw her walking back towards me as if she had been standing with that group the entire time. In her hands were four members of the group, two in each hand, either being dragged by their nape of their necks, or by the collar of their shirts.
Even as she passed by the leader, he was still laughing. He had yet to register what had happened. After she had walked a bit from him, did he finally wake up. He looked behind him slowly to realize there was no one standing with him. Turning back to look at our direction, Mebuki had already reached her original position with the goons thrown under a tree as she stood with her arms crossed.
The leader stood rooted to his spot in fear. He did not dare move a muscle nor did he have any intention of trying to run. After all, someone who got behind him, knock out his four men without a sound and with such speed, she could easily get to him before he could even move a muscle.
As I watched Mebuki my body shook in excitement. My heart pounding in my chest. The way she moved, I wanted it. That fear and despair on the leader's face, I wanted my presence to have that kind of effect. I wanted…power. I had not realized it but a grin had at some point formed on my face. Mebuki saw it and smiled. She might have moved like that deliberately to spark a fire in me or just because she could. Either way, she accomplished something.
Looking at the leader, she spoke, "I will give you a chance. Fight me daughter, and if you win, you get to go free." The leader, who had frozen from fear felt he had been given hope. But this time, he had his guard up, wondering if the daughter was anything like the mother.
My eyes opened wide as I looked at Mebuki. "Why the hell am I going to fight him?! Stop pushing such responsibility to your daughter!" I almost flipped out when I heard her words. It had been less than a day since we left the village and I had not been taught a single thing. Yet she expects me to suddenly fight an almost toothless villain plucked right from the cliché books?
"Stop being a wimp, you annoying brat. Here I thought you were smart. Losing your advantage by letting your opponent know you have zero experience in fighting. Disappointing." She said as she finished her sentence while looking at the lone goon with a 'you understand?' grin.
