Chapter 14

With the destruction of so many member countries, the news naturally could not be hidden and the world was in an uproar! The incompetence of the navy and the inaction of the world government had a lot of criticism with many kings who were utterly terrified about this. If the world government can't protect them, why do they pay such high fees to be members? Were their hard earned money fed to the dogs? 

A few days later came the reply of the world government, in the newspapers the exaggeration of the navy's so-called 'punishment' to the Rocks pirates. The picture depicted the scene where they showed a huge war between the two sides and the picture showed the large number of deaths from both sides which made the Navy seem to be heroes of justice fighting the evil pirates for the world. But that may fool the common people but those who knew better knew that none of the main cadres were killed meant that basically no damage was done to the Rocks pirates. In the pirate world cannon fodder was the easiest to obtain, it was the high end power that decided everything. 

The navy won back a little face and the pirates were laughing at their thick skin. Quid pro quo. But Linlin on the other hand realised something and that was the power of the media. She didn't think about it before because the majority of the time she took it for granted but now that knew such a large problem existed, she had to do something about it. Even someone as ambitious as Rocks never considered the issue and problem with the opponent controlling the media and other pirates never thought so either. The issue was with identity caused this weird warped thinking.

Linlin was now thinking about three things in total after she had some free time to think about everything that happened. 

Firstly she wanted to set up a neutral media outlet to balance this situation. But obviously as a pirate she can't be the head of a newspaper. So now she had to decide on establishing a network of delivery and the collection of information and someone else had to be the spokesperson. To support a new child or get a figure head? If she knew earlier, she would've kept one of her children hidden in the dark so she could put one out now.

The current model for delivery newspapers wasn't like the future where Morgans took over with his army of albatrosses but currently newspapers were delivered by bats from the government which she only found out by asking. 

Second was that she still had to build a kingdom, with her funds it would be too difficult to include a global newspaper so she had to push this project back a little and currently the war with the navy was somewhat over but it was the calm before the storm. 

Lastly, the reason why she lost. This was the one that was the most important to her. It wasn't that she can't afford to lose but it was the reasons why she lost and how to never be in that position again. With the battle with Nelson she realised there was something about haki that she had not learned about and that allowed him to target her internals completely bypassing her external defences which now was a big problem. 

No matter what kind of monster her body was, her internals were still vulnerable. If this was the case, people who can bypass her external defences like Nelson or Newgate's fruit ability would be a big problem in the future and she has to find a way around this. 

Plus her current attack ability seemed a little weak in comparison to her other stats. Sure her soul soul fruit had a lot of functionality and did very well auxiliary wise however even with her special homies she still felt it during the battle with an Admiral. She didn't know if investing more time developing her soul fruit would allow her to up her lethality, however she knew actually training her swordsmanship would do so, right now she didn't use her sword like a swordsman but just using it as a weapon which has a big difference. 

Linlin picked up the phone and dialed Rock's den den mushi number albeit reluctantly. She rather not ask that madman for anything but there certain things that can't be found easily, especially the top grade stuff that usually people would rather let it rot in their hands than let it out to the world. 

'Bru Bru Bru Bru Bru Bru Bru Bru Bru Bru, Gacha.'

"Captain Rocks."

"Oh it's Linlin. What do you want?" Just when Rocks said that a few explosions rang through which showed his side was still in battle. That was no surprise though, although the navy did not go through a full on war, small skirmishes happened daily.
