Jeanne halted
Keiko raised her head.
Their eyes met silently through the thick glass.
Jeanne looked at her much thinner appearance. Her lips trembled slightly, but she couldn't say a word. Keiko's eyes seemed to have changed a lot. They were once clear and free of distracting thoughts, and she could see through them with a single glance. But now it has become deep and complex—so complex that she couldn't see it through.
Keiko, on the other hand, looked at Jeanne without saying a word. When she saw Jeanne appear, she didn't seem surprised at all. There was no expression on her face, seemingly bereft of emotion.
"Keiko… I miss you…" Jeanne murmured, but Keiko didn't seem to bother to respond.
