Closing her eyes, she began to feel her powers, but only her arms lit up.

"Carol, you're using your mind, not your heart," I said, furrowing my brows. She wasn't using her power to its full potential.

"But Yon-Rogg said I should use my brain to reach my full potential." Carol countered.

"Then use your brain to think that Yon-Rogg didn't have the best intentions." I said firmly.

Carol seemed to freeze when I said that.

"Look, Carol, I know we haven't known each other for long, but the time we've spent together was enough for me to like you. And I don't think it's platonic. So, just this once, trust me." I said, still holding her face. I leaned in and kissed her lips.

Well, my advance on her was a bit quick, but it's normal when you think about it. It's just a kiss, and even if it were sex, it wouldn't be a big deal. These things don't require eternal love to happen. Sometimes, a good impression is enough... sometimes not even that is needed.

Of course, since I want to have a strong relationship with her, we have to take things more slowly. This time it was just an encouragement.

We continued kissing for a few moments, and when I released my lips from hers, she stopped using her mind, and from her emotions, her powers covered her completely, just as it should be.

"Well, beauty, you're shining brighter than the moon... literally," I said, smiling mischievously. Okay, the moon doesn't shine by itself, but let's not ruin the moment.

Carol smiled brightly at me when she heard what I said. Cute.

"Well, now that you've done what you wanted to do, please remember that there are other people here." Maria said with a teasing smile.

Carol and I were startled. Well, we were so focused on what we wanted to do that we forgot about the others here.

[We have arrived, sir.] Jarvis arrived at the exact moment, allowing Carol and me to compose ourselves.

Jarvis is a good wingman. We had arrived some time ago, and he just didn't interrupt me.

Walking to the front of the ship, we saw only the empty universe.

"Where is it?" Maria asked in doubt.

Carol didn't say anything but started touching the computer on her forearm. Soon, a hologram of a spaceship appeared in her hand.

[Decloaking Activated] Her wrist computer said.

Soon, a massive Kree imperial cruiser appeared in front of us after its camouflage was undone.

Jarvis directed Millennium into the cruiser and parked it in the hangar.

We descended and walked through the empty corridors to the core of the ship, where we saw the Tesseract suspended on a pedestal.

I walked up to the Tesseract, took it from the pedestal, and held it in my hand, which was surrounded by nanorobots.

Meanwhile, Talos began making noises like a combination of a trombone and a horn, echoing throughout the ship.

"What are you two doing?" Carol asked, perplexed, looking at me and then at Talos.

"I'm a scientist, so I'm studying this. As for him, he's probably calling the others on this ship. From my analysis, there are several unarmed Skrulls on the ship, mostly women and children." I said as I continued to analyze the Tesseract.

Carol was shocked to hear me talking about the other Skrulls.

Soon, Talos's wife and daughter emerged with several other Skrulls. After the emotional reunion, Talos's wife explained that they hadn't sent messages to them because Mar-Vell had told them not to, as it would attract the Kree.

It was at that moment that they noticed Carol, who was wearing a Kree force uniform, which terrified them.

"It's okay, it's okay. She's alright. She's a friend." Talos reassured his wife and quickly explained.

Carol walked up to them with a sad face and said, "I won't hurt you."

"She led me to you." Talos said.

Well, it was more me who did it, but it's better to give Carol the credit.

"I'm sorry. I didn't know." Carol apologized, full of remorse for the Skrull people she had killed.

"Carol. This is war. My hands are filthy from it, too. But we're here now. You've found my family," Talos said with sympathy and understanding.

He didn't blame Carol. She was as much a victim of this war as anyone else.

"But that's just the beginning. There are thousands of us, separate from each other, scattered throughout the galaxy." Talos added, giving Carol a new purpose.

At that moment, a young Skrull boy arrived, offered a smile to Carol, and led her to an arcade on the ship.

I didn't care much about what was happening. I was focused on studying the Tesseract.

After all this happened, we spent some more time with the Skrulls and decided to return to Earth.

As we were almost back to Millennium, I stopped because I sensed a life form that made me smile.

"So this is where you've been all this time." I said to myself with a happy smile.

"Huh? What are you talking about?" Carol asked, confused.

"Wait for me here." I said and walked to an area of the ship where I detected the life form.

Arriving there, I saw that cute, yellow thing looking at me with its head tilted.

"Meow." He said.

"Goose! You've been here all along, boy." I said with a smile and petted his head.

"Meow." He meowed, lowering his ears slightly but not moving away from my hand, continuing to look at me.

I had searched for him after Carol's accident, but he wasn't on Earth. It must have been some sort of butterfly effect.

Fortunately, I thought he might be here, so I came prepared.

Pulling out a piece of specially prepared dried fish, I gave it to him to eat.

He sniffed it a bit and then snapped it up.

"Meooow!" He meowed at me with bright eyes, eagerly licking my hands.

"It looks like you enjoyed that. How about you come with me? There'll be plenty of good food." I said, smiling.

"Meow." He meowed with his ears perked up and licked his little nose.

It seems like a deal.
