You know sometimes, Life throws certain obstacles before you in very funny ways. For example, it may decide to make you impotent just after you finally got your dream girl or kill you just when you're about to make it and I don't know, drop you off inside an extremely dangerous universe all with nothing to fend for yourself.
Yeah I know right?, Life's a bitch and how did all this start.... Well I wouldn't lie to myself that I had anything super extraordinary going on at that moment.
I was your average man, hustling to make just like 100% of youths nowadays who don't have a trust fund in their names.
Now as for the special thing that was about to happen well, I just scored my first interview for a high paying job and most of all.
This wasn't a job that I would hate, it basically required me to do what I already loved doing.
I don't think I need to explain to anyone exactly what type of combination this was.
Many people had high paying jobs but hated what they do but continue to do it just because they need the money. I, on the other hand, was about to get a job I loved that also paid well. The universe was finally conforming to my benefit.
Alas the universe is too big to give a fuck about any human, I died in my sleep the night before my interview. I don't believe it's a natural
death though after all I check my health regularly and even if I joke with everything, I don't joke with my health so something must have happened for me to find myself here.
As for how I knew I was dead, it was simple. I didn't know, I just inferred that from my current situation.
I am currently lying inside a weird high tech med bay like bed in so much pain that it felt as though a sun was exploding in my body.
As for how I am narrating this well, I honestly don't know. I can feel the pain but for some reason, my mind isn't registering it.
Explaining it is weird but that is the sort of situation I am in now. Now you may ask for how I know I am in an whole different than my previous one, The answer is I dont.
I may still be on Earth inside some secret base but I have had enough time to think and my conclusion was that Earthlings….. At least those from my own Earth know that it is easier to treat someone if they can't feel the pain, hence why things like pain killers, anaesthesia were born.
Whoever was treating or experimenting on me seemed more like a mad scientist from some cartoon or anime.
It was only in things like those or movies that they somehow believe that the success rate for a gruesome experiment would somehow be higher if the patients aren't given any pain numbing during surgery.
Well I don't really know if I am being experimented on or not but I do know that whatever that they or it was doing was definitely surgery related.
I couldn't feel both my legs, my right arm didn't feel right, my torso was on fire and half my face felt like someone used a knife to take it off then poured a cup of salt on it.
The pain was excruciating but somehow I couldn't feel it.
At the moment I felt like a third party to my new body, my mouth was definitely screaming in pain but my mind was somehow relaxed.
"Argghhhhh!!" I…..or well my body shouted as I felt a group of extremely cold things touch my body then slowly start to spread to the rest of my body.
Whatever it was, was so cold that it burnt as it covered my entire body from torso to the very tip of my probably non-existent fingers and toes.
The good thing in this however was that, wherever it passed, the pain subsided miraculously.
In fact you could say that it was as though it just turned off the pain.
"Is this what they mean when they say someone is hyper aware?" I asked myself as my body interchanged between expressions of extreme pain and relaxation
The spreading continued on for a few more seconds as my body continued reacting as one would expect but then it suddenly ceased as the entire body stiffened up and soon fell flat on the bed completely motionless.
"Am I dead again?" I asked completely confused
"That can't be right?"
I can't lie to say that I truly understand what was going on here but common sense dictates that technology this advanced shouldn't have problem recovering lost limbs and possibly any other illness I may have since I don't exactly know what is wrong with me.
Was I dead again just because these motherfuckers didn't know how to create anaesthesia, they better hope they were mad scientists or aliens experimenting on m....
[Rebooting Systems] a weird robotic voice was heard as the strange light green lines running haphazardly all around the body glowed.
As soon as the voice fell, the green lines jumped, latching themselves to the walls of the med bed as they continued to spread around while simultaneously collapsing the structure on the body which was still completely still.
The lines grew swallowing the entire equipment until the entire thing collapsed into a weird cocoon-like thing.
"Is it supposed to do that?" A male voice asked in surprise
"Check his pulse, is he still alive" another male voice replied but in a much more desperate tone than the one earlier.
The voice also sounded much more older than the one earlier
"Yes!... How is this even possible?" A shocked female voice answered
It was clear that none of them knew exactly what had just happened, they immediately stood back and watched on, letting what was happening run its course.
The slightly elderly man amongst them could be seen taking a huge sigh of relief after hearing that the 'patient' was still alive.
Nothing that happened within the past 24 hours was normal so they could at least cope with this.
