Chapter – 39 Skeletons and Rocks

Later at dusk Donny and Ron returned to the inn with the beast crystals that they have gathered by hunting as many beasts as they were able to find. Giving all the crystals to Lucas both of them bid their farewell to him, as Lucas had already prepared everything for his departure, he didn't delay it anymore and left everyone to keep the others safe.

"Meeting him for the last time won't do any good to him on the other he might even start to blame himself for this. Maybe one day in the future if I will be able to survive, I'll meet him again but until then I just hope that he and Henry can change this world into a better place." Lucas thought while looking at the inn for the last time and left the place to leave this kingdom and go to an isolated place.

In the morning Max woke up, "He would have been gone now" thinking about Lucas and what he would be going through from now on was upsetting, and discarding the thoughts regarding Lucas, Max freshened up and left his room; he was thinking of heading to the forest. To his surprise when he opened his door, he saw Donny and Ron standing there waiting for him.

"Why are you guys here?" Max asked, "Lucas had commanded us to keep you safe and help you train. From now on we both will be accompanying you everywhere." Ron said and Donny nodded with him.

"Okay, but you guys don't have to do this I can keep myself safe for now and if you will go with me everywhere it's going to be a bit awkward for me. It's better if you guys do your own thing and let me do my own." Max didn't want anyone to be with him, last night he had already decided that he was going to do things on his own from now on.

"They might be stronger than me but still it won't be good for me to grow in someone's shadow or I'll develop this mentality to rely on others," Max thought but Donny and Ron both were stubborn, as they didn't want Max to go alone in the forest or any place which can be dangerous for him with his current strength.

"Listen guys if you keep following me, I will sneak out from here then you won't even know where I will be. It will be better if you let me go alone, at least you would know where to look if I won't return back." Both Donny and Ron backed off for a minute to discuss something.

"What do you think we should do Ron? Lucas has given us orders to keep him safe while he trains and now, he is refusing us to accompany him." Donny said with a bit of concern. "What else can we do it would be more troublesome if he run away to any dangerous place, where we won't be able to save him. It is the only thing we can do to let him go alone, at least we would where he is." Ron suggested to which Donny agreed with him.

"Fine, Max we agree. We won't follow you but you have to carry this Magic Crystal with you, that's one condition you have to agree to otherwise we would be going everywhere together all three of us." Ron said while he split the Crystal in half and handed half of the Crystal to Max while keeping the other to himself.

[Tracking Crystal: This Crystal is a device used to track, with the help of its other half both Persons can know each other location."

Reading the System Window Max realized why they wanted him to carry the Magic crystal with him, so they can know where he is and if needed, they can find him anywhere.

"Okay, I'll keep this with me but if I saw you guys following me, I'll throw away this thing and later I'll even sneak out to go for hunts or anything else," Max stated after Donny and Ron agreed to let Max go alone.

"This is like I'm under surveillance but anyways I will just carry this thing with me for some days then I will throw it away and leave this city." Max thought while he was headed for the forest.

"Now that I'm here where should I head? Finding beasts in Outer Area is a bit tough but it's risk-free and If I go to the Middle Area there will be abundant of beasts there that I can hunt but the risk of encountering High-tier beasts is also high there." Max was carefully planning where he should hunt the beast cause this time Bob won't be there to save him from any danger that he will be facing.

"Going to the Middle area is much more beneficial for me compared to the Outer area. My speed is better than before, I'll be able to run away from the beast easily if any trouble happened. Also, it would be best if I met Bob here." Max started heading for the Middle area after deciding it thoroughly.

This time Max had headed to a different part of the Middle area compared to the places he used to hunt. He was amazed by the vastness of this forest as some parts were full of greenery and then there was the place where Bob took him which was deserted and now this place.

The place where Max was currently standing was full of huge rocks, they were huge around ten, twenty, and thirty meters high, it was like someone had polished them; they were shining like gems but there was one thing unusual about these rocks. There were some holes like someone had punched them or something to make a grip to climb these rocks. If not for these holes in the rocks they will be really good sculptures for decoration.

Getting closer to these rocks Max was thinking about whether he should climb them or use Dimensional Travel to go up there and see what was on the top. Seeing those holes with a closer look Max saw that it was more like someone had shoved their hand in the rocks to make this grip for climbing to the top. "Shit, these rocks look really sturdy, then who was able to make these holes? And it's not just this single rock, every single one of them has the same holes. Is it a beast doing?" Max analyzed the rocks and was worried that if a beast has made those holes, then how strong that beast is? What if I encounter the beast here?

"Let's take the risk and even if I meet that beast, I'll see how would I fair against it." Max thought and started climbing up the rock to see what was on the end. Using the holes in the rocks as a grip Max slowly started going upwards. "My hands are half in size compared to this hole, definitely it's a beast doing." Max realized it while he was climbing up. After some time, he reached the top of the rock and there was nothing on top of this one but the rock on the right side of this one has something there, from here it was not clear cause it was a bit far away, Max used his Dimensional Travel to go to that rock and when he appeared at the top of that rock, what he saw was unexpected.

The thing in front of Max was a pile of human skeletons, it was not like he has never seen the skeletons, he had already seen them many times now he is used to it. Last time there were also skulls in the deserted part of the forest but they were scattered around not pilled in a single place like this.

"It's weird, why would the beasts put these skeletons here? Is it some sort of their dinner place, I need to be careful otherwise I would also be lying here like this." Max said and returned back to the rock which he has climbed cause there was another rock there that was leading upwards to another place. The surprising thing was Max has never seen these rocks from outside the forest even when they are this huge but when Max turned around and saw those huge trees, he got reminded why he had never seen those rocks from the outside.

Climbing and climbing the only thing Max was doing for the last thirty minutes was just climbing and now he was even thinking about using Dimensional Travel to reach at the top faster but it would have been risky cause if he misses the holes to grab then he will be falling from this height and even if he used the Dimensional Travel to alter the direction of the fall he is still going to get hurt. That's why he dropped the idea to use it and still continued to climb it with his hands. After climbing for some ten more minutes, he was starting to see the end of it, "Ahh, God finally. I have reached the end." Max said to himself.
