Chapter – 40 Powerful Punches

Arriving at the top of the rock, Max was feeling a sense of achievement to climb this rock. "Next time, if I would have to climb somewhere for sure I'm going to use Dimensional Travel." Max was feeling a bit exhausted but it was not like he won't be able to fight in his current condition. If he had used the skill then it might have been hard for him to fight. "I never thought these rocks would have been connected at the top, it's like a pyramid." Max thought cause now in front of him was an open path, it was like he was on the ground. This time with human skeletons there were also beast's skulls of different shapes lying around on the ground.

"It's getting creepier now, I'm seeing a lot of skulls nowadays and I need to make sure that I don't join them too early." Max has taken out his sword and he observing his surroundings to see if he can find any traces of beasts or anything. The surroundings had some small rocks and there were no holes in them but they had some cracks in circles like someone had punched on those parts to make those cracks. The path was quite long and quiet, Max didn't see anyone there neither a beast nor a human after walking for quite some time.

"Everything is quiet here, had I just wasted my time coming here? It would be a waste if I return back now, I have already come this far, let's see what I will find in the end." Max thought he was not able to find anything for so long. All this time rocks and skeletons were the only thing that he saw and nothing else. "If there are human skulls here does this mean that others are aware of this place or did the beasts drag their bodies here after killing them? It would be a good thing if I met other humans here, they might be able to tell me more about this place and the beasts that can be found here."

After an hour Max saw a little beast ahead of him that was eating the flesh out of a human body, the beast was some meters away from Max and it was small in size, like a monkey but it had no tails and it had white fur. "Why do most of the beasts here resembles the animals from my world? Is this one a monkey or gorilla, well whatever it is, it doesn't look strong so I'll be able to kill it easily." Max thought while he prepared his sword and dashed from his location to attack the white beast. Maybe because the beast was in its territory, it was not paying any attention to its surrounding and was just eating the human in front of him.

Max was able to close the gap between himself and the beast very quickly because of the additional speed that he had gained from the Bracelet from the old man. Two points of agility were making a significant difference for Max as he was able to tell himself that his speed had improved. "If that old man had crafted me a better one then I would have been much faster but I have to use this one now," Max complained about the old man in his mind as the old man had refused to craft an item for him.

Max swung his sword with his full strength towards the beast and the beast was hit by it on his back and it was sent flying to the other side and stopped after it hit a rock, making some cracks appear on the rock after the impact. "Is this because I'm strong or are these rocks on the verge of breaking because of all the cracks from before." Max thought that cause earlier he had tried punching the rocks but no cracks had appeared on them. But now when the beast was hit on those same rocks there were cracks forming there.

"Maybe the weight of the beast helped to form the crack, after his whole body hit that area, naturally, the impact would be stronger than what I can make from my bare hands." The beast was not done with a single hit, it rises up from the ground and started running towards Max to attack him, as Max had disturbed his meal time making the beast angry. The beast started shouting while running toward Max and when it came closer to Max it threw a punch at Max. Defending himself Max raised his sword to take the punch and after the punch hit his sword he was dragged back by the force of the punch, there were marks left on the ground of his footsteps as he was forced backward and his whole body was shocked from the impact, it was like his body was vibrating.

"Are you kidding me? It was able to hurt me even when I defended the attack, what would have happened if I had missed defending and the attack would have hit me directly? I need to make sure that this beast doesn't hit me directly. Otherwise, it would only take fifteen or twenty punches from this beast to deplete my health to zero." Max didn't know that this little beast can hold this much strength in his punches as the beast was not even half the size of Max. Now that Max knew that rather than defending himself from the beast's attack it would be better to dodge them, he started avoiding the beast's punches and was also attacking the beast from time to time. With his additional speed, it was easy to dodge the attacks from the beast even though the beast had the strength it didn't have any speed and it was slower than Max, and Max took advantage of it.

The beast jumped backward from Max to make some distance after it realized that it was the only one who was getting hurt. This time rather than rushing to attack the beast was being cautious of Max as it had realized that this human was stronger than him. But Max won't let this opportunity slip away as he disappeared from his location and appeared near the beast, sending it flying again this time the beast coughed up some black blood and was looking in pain as it was having trouble standing up.

"I should finish it fast, what if the beast started using his ability? Until now it was only using his hands to fight me." Max didn't want any surprise attack coming from this beast, even though he was confident he can dodge the attacks by disappearing but still, what if he got hit by that unknown ability, he wanted to play safe until he found out what this beast's ability is.

The beast was in pain as it again tried to stand up and was shrieking as he stood up from the ground. The beast had definitely broken some bones this time because it was holding his abdomen with his one hand while he stood there. "Let's finish this," Max said in a low voice to himself as he dashed towards the beast and the beast was also thinking the same as this time it was faster, even while he was hurt maybe it was because of his rage and hatred towards Max that he was not feeling the pain right now.

As both of them came close, Max made a Space ball on his left hand and threw it at the part where the beast was holding himself earlier. Max thought that part was the most vulnerable part of this beast right now, and the chance of damaging it more was higher there. The beast was in a rage mode so it didn't even think of dodging the space ball that Max had thrown at him and it took the hit head-on. Max also attacked with his sword at the exact moment and disappeared the same moment before the beast could even touch him, he didn't give the beast any chance to attack him after he took the first hit from it.

"Uff, this beast was a bit tougher than others but fighting different beasts is making me also gain experience in actual combat. I still don't know what's the actual limit of a Rare-tier beast. I should consider this beast somewhere around in the middle of the Rare-Tier beast category." Max said to himself as he started cutting the beast's body to take out the crystal from the body. The crystal was of snow-white color as Max was expecting because of the beast's white fur.

"But why didn't the beast use its ability on me even when his life was in danger, it didn't use it and that's confusing me now. Did this beast didn't have any ability or was it something else but I need to be careful if this place is filled with the same type of beasts, then I need to take a lot of precautions and I shouldn't fight them if there are more than one of these beasts." Max decided to avoid these beasts if he saw them in pairs because he knew that he might be able to handle one of them but taking on two of these beasts is going to be tough for him as he is still not experienced enough to handle two beasts of this caliber.

Max continued going after taking a small break to fully replenish his stamina, he was already a bit exhausted because of all the walking, and fighting that beast was also a little tiresome but not too much. He wanted to have his full strength in case of emergency, if he meets a bunch of these beasts together, he would be needing all the energy he has to run away from them.
