Chapter – 20 Lucas Anger

Following the trails of the beasts that it had left behind; Max and others were heading deeper inside the forest. Tracing the beast was not that hard cause' Lucas with his vast experience was easily doing that. While Lucas was mainly focusing on tracking, Donny and Ron were responsible for Max's safety.

I need to find more of those weak beasts otherwise if I don't get stronger soon. I won't be able to hunt alone and if Lucas is always going to be with me, I won't be able to use Dimensional Travel, which I think will make it easier for me to ambush these beasts.

It was becoming hard for everyone to see now cause of the darkness even with the wooden torches they were carrying, they were not able to see more than ten feet ahead of them. And with the torches, they were easy prey for all the beasts that were in the forest but they still haven't got attacked by any.

Some rustlings were heard by Donny from behind him and the instant he turned around to see the source of it. A beast jumped from the bushes behind him, with the darkness it was to see the beast but when Ron rushed to help Donny the beast become somewhat clear to see.

Looking by its size it was five feet long and was somewhat a mix between a bear and a lizard. With its huge body, it was sitting over Donny to attack him with his hands but Donny had grabbed both of the beast's hands. Seeing Ron come to help Donny the beast tried to free his hands from Donny to make some distance between them. Ron had taken out his Sword and was just going to hit the beast but it was able to get free from the grip of Donny.

Lucas had also rushed back to them when he heard the sound of Donny hitting the ground. Seeing that Donny was safe from the beast Lucas let the two of them handle the beast on their own but what surprised him was that Max had also taken out his sword and was ready to attack. Seeing that Max was also gonna take part in it, Lucas was ready to jump in any moment if the beast is going to threaten Max's life.

Ron was attacking the beast while Donny had gotten behind the beast to make sure it won't run away, seeing them fight Max was waiting for a moment to get in and attack the beast. The beast was trying to protect itself from the attack by defending it with his hands, but I don't think any attack from Ron was making the beast hurt cause' even though the beast was just defending itself there was no visible damage shown on its skin.

For a second Ron stopped attacking the beast and the beast saw that as an opportunity to attack. its hand had nearly reached Ron, a blade some in front of Ron parrying the attack from the beast, and another blade had stabbed the beast on its back. Seeing the right time Max and Donny attacked the beast at the same time. The beast's full attention was attacking Ron so it was not able to see those two blades coming and it happened in an instant even if it had stopped its attack, it would have been able to defend itself from one side.

After getting injured it had become a little furious looking at all three of them it shifted its focus on Donny again and start to attack him but after attacking him once it instantly switches the target and now it was going to attack Max, seeing that the beast attack was coming for him, Max dodged it and tried to attack its other hand but before it had hit the beast, it had again switched its target going after Ron. Who was also ready to dodge the attack, when the beast got close to Ron it didn't use its hand to attack but opened its mouth and a blue liquid come out of its mouth which fell on Ron's face and he fell on the ground. Seeing something unexpected Lucas had come to attack the beast this moment, after spitting the strange liquid at Ron the beast had avoided the hit from Lucas.

Lucas checked on Ron but nothing unusual was visible on Ron's face the blue liquid had gotten inside his face. Seeing that Ron was not waking up, Lucas was feeling a wave of boiling anger inside him. Donny and Ron were the last remaining members of the guards, seeing one of them like that in front of him had gotten him angry.

"You foul beast you're going to regret attacking us" With these words, Lucas charged towards the beast with his black sword, even though with very little light that sword was shining brightly like crystal in the darkness. Running towards the beast Lucas slashed the beast on its leg and the beast tried to defend it with his hand but it hadn't expected that its hand would be cut into two by that blade, the sword sliced its hand and leg at the same time, while Donny had gone to Ron side to see his condition and Max was thinking to get into the fight to kill the beast to gain the Exp.

Everything was going normal for all of them but this beast attack had made their situation worse for them. Seeing that it was not able to defend itself from Lucas's attack the beast tried to run for his life but before it even moved its body. Lucas's sword slashed again and the other leg was now on the ground with the beast, with only his reaming one hand it was trying to crawl back into the bushes to get away but this time before Lucas can attack Max rushed to attack the beast but his sword was not able to hurt the beast like Lucas's sword had done. Attacking the beast Max had only one thought that Lucas's sword might be a higher tier than rare tier to hurt this beast like that.

But Max didn't stop its attack, even though they were not making a clean cut, they were able to leave small cuts and Max had chosen to attack its neck which was a good idea compared to the beast's hands his neck was more vulnerable, hit after hit Max was attacking its neck without stopping after some minutes the beast had stopped moving and Max had also stopped cause' a screen had popped in front of him congratulating him for killing the beast.

Seeing Max attack like that Lucas stopped himself and let Max kill the beast, without its legs and hand the beast was of no threat to Max and Lucas get to Ron to see what he can do to help him.

Seeing the notification in front of him Max was pleased but instantly he left the beast and rushed to see how's Ron.
