Chapter -17 Blacksmith's Shop

The shop that was in front of Max was a blacksmith's shop, his gloomy mood instantly disappeared after seeing that and he rushed to enter the shop. When he entered the store instantly the smell of burning coal entered his nose which was something unpleasant for him. after getting inside he saw two people working inside, they were not big enough like Max had thought a blacksmith would be but on the contrary, they were the same height as Max. they might even be of the same age as Max after seeing that someone had entered the store those two looks at him and continued their work.

"Hello, Mr. I would like to ask if someone here can make a sword for me?" saying this Max started to approach those two to see what they were working on. Before Max could get close to them someone come out from the room from the side. After seeing the size of this guy Max could say that this guy was looking like a blacksmith, he was huge like a giant with those huge muscles on his body Max felt like he was standing in front of a Beast but that was not the case. He had a little beard on his face and a small pony on his head. While his whole body was reeking from the smell of sweat and coal.

"Don't disturb them, kid. Here, tell me what do you need?" Jack said while walking towards Max. after seeing that someone had come that Max can talk to about making a sword, he didn't get close to those two people on the other side that were working with their highest concentration on the weapon.

"Sir, I would like to ask if can you make a sword for me. I had looked through half of the stores in this city but not a single store had a sword higher than a basic tier sword." Hearing Max Jack realized that this kid is not a resident of this city otherwise he would have known why there was no sword available there.

"It's okay we can make a sword for you but we have to first see what materials you have and whether they can even be used to make a sword or not?" Jack thought that Max might have the materials with him so he asked him to bring out them but hearing Jack asking for raw materials Max had an awkward smile on his face.

"I don't have any raw materials, I thought I only have to pay for the cost and you would use your materials," Max said while trying not to make direct eye contact with Jack. Who was looking a little annoying hearing Max. "You are saying you don't have any materials and yet you decided to enter here asking us to make a weapon. Kid, I don't know where you have come from but if you want a weapon made by a blacksmith you have to always provide the materials, we only take payment according to what the customer asks us to make" ignoring his annoyance over Max, he started explaining to him how they work here.

"Thank you for telling me about this, I'm sorry it's just that I had never visited a blacksmith before so I didn't know this. Can you tell me where can I get materials to make a sword of higher quality than the basic tier?" Max said while Jack sighed.

"Look Kid I can make a weapon from Gathium, Beast crystals, and Bones from the Beasts. So, if you can get any of these things, I'll gladly make a sword for you and will only charge you half my fees." Jack said while taking a glance at those two working on the other side.

"Gathium? Where can I get this from?" Max again asked Jack. "I don't think you Gathium here in this city, you can see that this city is quite small compared to other cities of this kingdom, and not a lot of high-Rank hunters visit here, so no merchant here sells Gathium but if you try there might be some hunters that might be selling low tier Beast crystals here. If you get one by a chance then come here or you can hire some hunters to hunt a beat for you but it will cost you more" while Jack was explaining everything, Max was able to see that Jack was feeling good while telling all of this.

"Thanks again for telling me all these things. After I get a Beast crystal I'll visit here, I'll meet you soon" Max greeted Jack and leave the store. After Max left Jack walked towards those two that were working on the other side. "It's looking great, make sure you guys don't make any mistakes," Jack said to those two.

"I don't think I can afford a team of hunters to hunt a beat for me. It will be better if I found someone willing to sell a Beast crystal." Max thought while walking on the streets. The sword that he was carrying won't be much effective against the higher tier of Beast and if he wanted to level up faster, he needs to kill high-tier Beasts.

"I think I should try hunting basic tier Beast on my own, if I won't be able to hunt one by myself, I will go out with Donny and Ron." Thinking that Max was sure he will be able to handle at least a basic tier Beast himself, if not he can use 'Dimensional Travel' to escape.

"Sorry Brother, but do you know where I can find only basic tier Beast here in the area nearby?" Max asked a passing stranger who was somewhat confused hearing Max ask this. "Are you kidding with me?" The stranger said this and walked off leaving Max a bit confused.

"Did I ask something stupid or what?" Max thought while he decided to ask the same to another stranger and he also didn't answer Max's question and just walked off. "I think they are thinking of me as a crazy person here, who doesn't know where he can find Beasts?" Max thought while he decided to get back to the inn and leave the idea to hunt a Beast for now.

Looking at the sky the sun was also setting down now and Lucas had told Max that Beasts are more dangerous at night time. And Max knows if Lucas gets back to the inn and did not see Max there, he will question Max about where he was. Thus, Max decided it will be best to head back for now.

After reaching the inn, Max saw that Donny and Ron had woken up and were in the lobby waiting for Lucas to arrive but seeing that Max had entered from outside they were surprised. Until now they were thinking that Max was sleeping in his room cause the room was locked from the inside and after asking the person in reception, they made sure that Max hadn't left his room while they were sleeping.

But now seeing Max coming from outside they were confused and surprised, "We thought you were still sleeping. How did you come from outside?" Ron asked Max while Donny was also awaiting an answer from Max.

"Damn, I forgot that I had used Dimensional Travel to go outside and now I forgot to use it again to enter my room," Max thought while coming up with a lie to tell them how he gets out of his room.
