Chapter – 18 Going to Hunt

Donny and Ron both were waiting for an answer from Max, to know how he left his room without anyone noticing him. Seeing that everyone was looking at Max even the guy in reception was waiting for an answer.

"I used the window!" Max blurted it out a little nervously, while he hoped that will believe him and won't ask any further questions to him.

"Okay, it's not a big deal anyway, we know you probably wanted to tour the city," Donny said it nonchalantly while he continued to drink his beverage. After knowing how Max had gotten out of the room none of them ask him anything else. And Max walk to the table to sit with them while all of them waited for Lucas to arrive.

"Lucas still had not returned? Do you guys know where he had gone or when he might return?" seeing that none of them were talking Max tried to start a conversation by asking about Lucas.

"We don't know where he had gone but we should wait here until he returns," Donny said in the same tone as before. "Have you guys been to this city before?" Max couldn't help but ask just to kill the time until Lucas arrived.

"No, it's our first time here. it's always had been Lucas who goes out to other cities and kingdoms as per the king's order." Ron replied, compared to Donny he was speaking in a friendly tone.

"We had always been stationed inside the castle but the day our kingdom was destroyed was the first time we had sent for a mission outside the castle," Ron said with visible sorrow on his face for those that had died that night, while he had survived. "After our king, Lucas had been the most skilled person with weapons in our kingdom, he was the one who had always trained us and make us improve our fighting skills. All of us had great respect for Lucas for this reason" Listening to Ron, Max was getting to know more about Lucas.

While Max and Ron were talking the door to the inn opened and the person that walked in was the one that Ron is currently talking about Lucas. Seeing that Lucas had arrived Donny and Ron Stood up while seeing them Max also stood up. "It's good that all of you are already here, I guess all of you had rested enough now?" seeing them full of energy, Lucas knew that had rested enough.

"Before any of you ask where we are heading? I will explain it myself; we need to hunt a beast near the end of this city. It is a rare-tier Beast it won't be too hard for all of us to hunt it." Lucas was going to head inside a room to get his weapon which he had left here earlier but before he can walk away Max stopped him to ask something.

"Well, I have a question Lucas, can you tell me how strong this beast is going to be?" Max looked at Lucas with a confused face cause even now no one had still explained to him how these beasts are graded here according to their power level.

"Oh Sorry, I forgot to teach you about the beast power levels and their tiers. But we only know that there are Nine different tiers for the beasts starting from; Basic, Advanced, Rare, King, Emperor, Demi-God, Legendary, Demonic and Mythical. The beast that had attacked us was a legendary tier and also some people say that there's a tier above the mythical beasts but no one had seen it yet. So not a lot of people believe this." Remembering the night when that legendary beast had attacked the kingdom Max could still remember the screams of those guards that had died that night while trying to defeat that beast.

"And for their power level well it differs from one beast to another sometimes king tiers beasts are weaker than advanced tiers in physical strength but their unique abilities make them stronger. And as for this beast that we are going to hunt is not too dangerous, it won't give us any trouble" after explaining to Max about the beast Lucas walked off to get his weapon while Donny and Ron have their weapons already with them.

After a minute Lucas come out of the room with the same black sword that he was going to use some days ago in the forest against the legendary beast. Seeing that everyone was ready Lucas lead them toward the back first to get their horses back. And all four of them head inside the city to get to the other side.

"Max before we look for that rare beast we will hunt some basic tier beast, it will help you gain some understating of a real fight against the beast. fighting a human is easier compared to a beast, you can always predict a human movement but predicting a beast's movement is hard. You will fight the beast alone if there will be any danger Ron will help you" Hearing Lucas Max only nodded in response, he was feeling a little scared but also thinking that he will be able to earn Exp. from the beast he was also excited.

Even though the city was big, with horses it didn't take them more than an hour to reach the other end, starting from there they were only able to see a huge forest with tall trees and with dark leaves on them, they were also hearing beast's cries from inside the forest. Seeing that they had reached their destination everyone gets off their horses, Donny took out two; one feet nails from the bag and shoved them into the ground, and tied the horses with a rope.

After making sure that everyone was ready, all of them walked inside the forest with Lucas in the front, Max staying in the middle and Donny & Ron staying in the back. "I feel like a princess right now," Max thought while seeing how all three of them were trying to protect him by keeping him inside the middle.

Even though Lucas was able to kill any beast that might come across, he was being careful right now cause' there might be a beast that might ambush them when their guard is down. To get Max some fighting experience Lucas had left the God-Crystal in the room cause' if he had brought that with him not a single would try to come near them.

To everyone's surprise for some reason, they still had not come across a single beast here and it was making Lucas suspicious about something. But his suspicion was gone cause after some time they had finally come across a single beast, looking at its Lucas was sure it was a basic tier one because he had hunted this one before.

The beast also saw them and was ready to pounce at them any moment, seeing that Lucas had slowly backed off and now was standing close to Max. He said "Max don't get scared, just wait till the beast makes a move, okay? It won't be too difficult for you I know, be relaxed and fight without any worry." Hearing this Max tried to calm himself, he had prepared himself mentally all this time and now the time had come for him to finally fight a beast.

Lucas had backed off a little more and now the beast was looking at Max with his scary eyes, it was not a big beast just the size of a normal dog but it was not a dog, it was bulky and with its grey fur and teeth it was ready to attack any moment.

Seeing that the human in front of him was not attacking first the beast started running towards Max and jumped to attack his face.
