Chapter 25

Late at night as everyone was asleep in the apartment building. A loud high pitch noise went off that could only be heard by kryptonians. In the closet, a glow could be seen as the doors began to shake violently.

Rolling off his bed as his hands covered his ears. Jason pulled out his fortress crystal which basically demanded him to finally use it. The crystal that will grow a large crystal palace and something he has been putting off since he was ten.

"Fine, fine, I will use you. Just stop ringing." Jason asked the crystal.

The ringing quieted down, but the crystal still glowed a bit. Thinking of where to build it, Jason had a few ideas but in the end settled on the arctic. After writing a small note, he took off from the window flying high above the clouds heading north.

Flying high above the clouds as he crossed over land, lakes and ocean. Jason soon landed in the far north where a great plains of snow and ice existed. Tightening his grip on the shining crystal, he gave it a long throw and watched as the crystal spun around until it vanished below the layers of ice and snow.

After moments of waiting and the sun on the horizon, a small cracking sound could be heard rapidly growing louder. Bursting forth from the ground, large beautiful looking crystals rapidly forming a large fortress. Within minutes the fortress was completed forming the Fortress of Solitude.

"Impressive." Jason said as he walked inside.

While inside there were a couple levels that were more like long steps where they led to the control panel. Jason looked around as this place was actually more cozier than he expected it to be. Despite it being mostly void of anything but crystals, it was cold or gave an empty feeling.

"My son. Finally you used the blasted crystal." a woman's voice echoed throughout the fortress.

Appearing above the console a layer of smooth flat crystal appeared. A beautiful girl around eighteen to twenty appeared on screen. She had pale skin with jet black hair that tied back into a ponytail. Her dark eyes looked grumpy as she seemingly peered down at him through the screen.

"Mother?" Jason said, slightly surprised.

"Well of course, who else would I be? Some old man in the form of an AI?" She huffed with a playful smile. "Well, I can't be here all the time so I did add an AI for you."

For who his mother was, she was the being that will outlast every living being to ever exist. She is Death of the Endless.

Appearing next to her was a fairly busty girl with green eyes and platinum hair. She had light skin tone with a black...thin outfit if it be called that? The outfit was basically four strings barely covering what needs to be covered. However attached to her back were black bat-like wings and a tail.

"Really?" Jason said not really impressed.

The woman AI was beautiful without a doubt but he didn't really see why it needed to be. As quickly as she appeared, as quickly as she went. His mother on the other hand gave a slight wave of her hand as if nothing happened.

"Hey, it was my gift for you when you were ten." She replied unconcerned. "Her name is Lilith by the way."

"That is even worse."

"Really?" She laughed. "Well, whatever."

"So why did you have me make the fortress now?" Jason asks switching topics.

"Because your world is changing." Death shrugged. "Due to a few mortals in another universe playing with power beyond their control. They accidentally began merging your universe with their own."

"...And this is the reason I needed my fortress."

"...No. I was just tired of waiting." Death eyes darted to the side. "I barely get to see you. I also wanted to give you a heads up that a few changes will start becoming more noticeable."

"Like a giant green muscular man rampaging down the city street?" Jason commented.

"Maybe? Well, yes."

"Is that it?" Jason let out a yawn.

He watched as his mother grumbled about his rude behavior. Well, he didn't have the best wake up call with a high pitch ringing in his ears. Now that he actually thought of it, why didn't his father wake up?

In a large metal aircraft, a dark skinned man was looking over a video. It showed inside a laboratory that focused on a blue glowing cube. A cube that was currently opening a portal before it fluctuated violently. Then in a huge explosion the lab came crashing down before the screen switched over.

The next video showed the lab assistant Malk before he began his rampage.

"Agent Hills. What do we have on this?" Nick Fury, the head of Shield demanded.

"Truthfully not much. Besides some primitive findings and theories." Hill reported. "From reports it was either theorized the blood they were studying was either a mutation or alien. It grants immense strength, flight, durability and speed. Anything else is either undiscovered or unknown due to limited research."

Fury's expression didn't really tell his mood, but anyone who had been around him long enough knew he wasn't happy. After all, since the experiment with the tesseract, weird memories began to appear in half his agents. Memories that rapidly began to affect the rest of them, even himself.

"Do we have any idea who this teen is?"

Shaking her head, Hills replied with an answer that didn't shift his mood. "Sorry, sir but no we currently have no information. Interviews with those on the beach that day say the teen was around seventeen or eighteen and fairly handsome."

"That's it? Nothing else?"

"It was also reported he was with a girl who had long pink hair. Yet some other witnesses claimed otherwise."

"I don't want speculation, I want facts."

"Well that is all we got on the matter." Agent Hills replied.

Waving her away as he wanted to think by himself. Fury only had one thought as he reviewed the lab explosion with the tesseract.

'The world is going to get a whole lot crazier.'
