26 Chapter 26

Inside her laboratory or rather soon to be laboratory. A teenage girl around sixteen with a nice and curvy figure with long pink hair tied back. Her green eyes watched as she directed a white and blue blur in setting up the lab from tables to large and fairly heavy machinery.

After a few minutes, in a flash the blur came to a stop beside her. There stood a teen not much older than her with his will crafted arms crossed across his fairly muscular chest. His black hair slicked back and his deep blue eyes waiting for his praise behind his dark glasses.

"Nicely done." She gave in watching as a smile blossomed on his handsome face.

"Of course, I am the one that did it." he replied slightly arrogant and narcissistic in good humor.

"Still this is a good place. How did you find it Jason?" Lala asked.

While stepping out of the lab, well her lab they walked into the rest where a large space was revealed and plenty of space for larger projects to take place. Only they were undecided how they should lay it out, so it currently just sat empty beside a few paintings hanging on the wall.

"The last owner was tired and no one was interested in a near bankrupt comic book studio." Jason explained. "Still there is still a lot of space for such a small time business. Only was in business for fifteen years barely making due until about seven years ago."

"Oh, which comic books?" Lala asked slightly interested.

"I believe it is about some kid who is fairly talented in magic tricks. He puts on magic shows for others as he steals gems looking for one that apparently grants immortality." Jason rubbed his chin for a moment.

"That does sound interesting. How come it didn't sell well?"

"Let's just say the man didn't have much talent in storytelling or artwork." Jason replied lightly.

Later that day while Lala was off chatting with her mother.

Tapping his finger on the metal table top, Jason rested his head on his palm as he watched the news. It was reported that Tony Stark, who has been missing for a few months, has been found. While it went on to report more about Stark industry, Jason lost all interest in the news.

'Marvel huh. Should have really guessed after the Hulk appeared.' Jason thought to himself.

While he tried to dig up his memories from his last life about the series. Jason realized he didn't have all much to go on. Besides some fights, and a small bit of Avengers knowledge, he didn't have all that much. It has been years since he watched those movies even before being reborn.

'Well, so much for using future knowledge in such a big way.' Jason mentally shrugged, not really caring. He figured that movies wouldn't help in the long run either way and as for comic books. Much less reading them, he never held a marvel comic book.

"Doesn't the news have anything else to run?" Liz grumbled as she walked in. "No matter the channel, he is on it.

"Must be a slow news day." Jason joked before an alert came from his phone.

While confused as he wondered if it was a scam caller. A familiar woman with bat-like wings appeared on his screen.

"Hello Master Jason." Lilith greeted him happily. "I was told by your mother to alert you of any large scale disasters or dangers surrounding the Earth your Fortress picks up."

While he wasn't really thrilled by the idea since it was a nudge into being a hero. Jason still wondered what could be so important that the AI decided to contact him. By inserting herself into his phone none the less.

"What is the issue?" Jason asked.

"A small meteor is heading towards Earth. It has been calculated that it will land around Moscow."

"If it's a small one, won't it just burn up before it lands?"

"..." Lilith didn't respond for a moment before her cheeks gained a blush. While she began to stretch her thin top, "For my blunder, I shall offer my body in payment."

Jason just stared hard as Liz who watched everything just burst out laughing. She didn't know what was going on, but she figured it was a project he and Lala did.

"Lilith, first you're an AI and if you're really sorry, you wouldn't be nearly drooling." Jason answered.

In an instant she stopped her actions as Lilith appeared back to normal once more. In a snap of her fingers, Lilith just vanished with a small pout. Not before blowing him a kiss however.

"What was that?" Liz asked finally.

"A present from my mother." Jason replied.

"She...interesting."

--

"So, why are we clothes shopping again?"

Jason, who was carrying a couple bags, asked from behind Lala. While it wasn't too bad or outrageous, neither of them were in need of clothes. They were just out and about while window shopping when Lala decided to buy some.

"Why not?" Lala shrugged.

"Don't you already have some of these?" Jason asked, stepping beside her.

"Maybe." Lala playfully answered the question.

While walking the street, their chat was interrupted by a loud explosion. Ahead of them on the street a large ball of fire and smoke shot towards the sky. A large gas truck ran into a parking garage and suddenly lit ablaze.

"Is it me or is that garage coming down?" Lala asked as a crowd began to rush past them.

Jason looked at the building and frowned; he could see it slowly falling apart. Only, it wasn't from the truck.

'Something a little off with this.' Jason thought to himself before he noticed some were inside.

Tossing his bags alongside his glasses into the air a bit. Jason vanished from where he was standing as everything slowed down. Sliding through the crowd, he quickly put out the fire and began carrying everyone inside to a safe distance. While it felt like it took an hour for him, only a few seconds had passed when returned to his spot and put his glasses and bags back on.

"It is coming down, so I think we should leave." Jason grabbed Lala's hand.

A couple hours later, the news reported that the parking garage had fallen not long after they left and no one was hurt.
