That's why I'm going to be the first. This is Berk. It snows nine months out of the year and hails the other three. What little food grows here is tough and tasteless. The people that grow here, are even more so. The only upsides are the pets. While other places have ponies or parrots; we have… dragons. Most people would leave. But not us. We're Vikings. We have stubbornness issues. My name's Hiccup, well now it is. It's been almost 16 years since I was reincarnated into this body as Hiccup. I remember nothing from my past life but my knowledge of the How to Train your Dragon series. If I had to sum up my experience up until now it would be Exhausting, Pain & Luck.
Waking up I get out of bed and get dressed. Looking in the metal at the reflection I have a very athletic body however I hide it through thick clothing. Walking out of the house I walk through the village and see people making weapons and preparing for a possible dragon attack.
Walking down to my workshop I look at the latest blueprints that I have. One thing that I always admired about Hiccup is that he was a great engineer for his time. I mean he made his own wingsuit.
"Morning Hiccup, just to let you know the defenses around berk are back to 100%." I look up and see the one-foot Gobber.
"Good, with everything, repaired we can lessen the impact of a dragon attack." One problem the original Hiccup had was that he never got recognition for his inventions since everything he made was designed for him to use. In order to have a good standing in the village I decided to start developing weapons for Berk like the crossbow and spear launchers. It made me quit a good amount of money over the years and the people of Berk respect me due to how many lives I've saved indirectly.
"Yep, I have extra undies since your inventions. I wanted to tell you before you go off and disappear again," Gobber says as he walks off.
Yep, one habit I picked up from the previous Hiccup is running off and disappearing. I do it to train in weapons and exercise so the village doesn't pick up on anything. Doing a quick walk through I head out to do my exercises. Now let's make one thing clear I have no problem with fighting but ever since a young age, I've been held back and babied by my—
"Hiccup where are you off to."
Turning around I respond, "Just off to explore mom." Yep, Valka never got kidnapped by the Stormcutter.
"Alright you be careful tho don't wander off too long."
"I understand," I said and walked off.
… That Evening…
Walking back from my training I start to think about when I should start the process of introducing training dragons to the village. I've also used my time away from the village to practice training dragons and releasing them. Currently, the opinion of possibly dragons not being soulless killers is only expressed by Valka.
'Maybe I should try soo—'
"Rrrrraaawwwww"
'Wait I know that call'. I listen and hear wings behind me.
Without turning I crab the hand axes on my sides, "Nadder," I dive out of the way of an incoming fire blast.
Running behind a tree, "Sorry but you'll have to die today."
Third POV…
Not far from the fight 5 teenagers were roughhousing and exploring to pass the time.
"Boom"
"Ha, that's what you get," laughed Snotlout.
Standing up Tuffnut had a bruised nose, "Ha now who's the ugly sibling," Ruffnut said.
"Shutup it's still you," countered Tuffnut.
"Guys shut up do you hear that," Astrid said raising her voice.
Everyone was silent then they heard what sounded like a fire bast and a dragon call.
"Umm that sounds like a Deadly Nadder," Fishlegs said a little fearful.
"It sounds like it's attacking something. What if it's a person & they need help, come on let's go," Astrid said looking at the group.
"Um how about not," Snotlout said.
"If you're a coward then stay behind," Astrid said running towards the commotion.
"What! I'm no coward," Snotlout protested and ran along.
Hiccup POV…
Running around I grab my crossbow and wait for the Nadder to take flight. Eventually, it does due to my constant dodging. 'Now's my chance,' I run till I'm under the Nadder and shoot a crossbow and it hits its stomach.
Getting hit in the stomach it crashes to the ground. Once it does I launch both my hand axes at each of its wings while dodging the spikes from its tail being launched at me. With a clean cut on both wings, blood goes everywhere as the Nadder calls in pain. Picking up two spikes I run up to the Nadder in its blind spot and stab both of the spikes into its head. Struggling for a few seconds the Nadder stops moving.
Looking at the dead Nadder, "Sorry but it was either me or you. If you're this close to the village you must have been starving for some food and found me." I turn around to get my weapons and hear something.
"If we die I'm gonna kill you," said Snotlout.
"How are you gonna kill me if your already dead dumbass?" said Tuffnut.
"Shh Shutup."
'Shit why the hell are they all the way out here,' forgetting my weapons I run back to the village before they can spot me.
Third Person POV…
Arriving at the scene the gang was shocked to find the Nadder already dead.
'Woah it's already dead,' some of them thought.
They all approached the dead animal and looked around the area.
"Hey guys over here," Fishlegs said.
Walking over everyone looked at the crossbow on the floor. "Hey didn't Hiccup start selling these last month," Ruffnut said.
"Yes but the demand was so large that not many were sold," said Astrid as she started to think. "We should tell someone in the village about the dead dragon before it attracts other dragons."
'The number of crossbows sold was very few if so who did this can only be a very select group of people,' thought Astrid.
"Guys it's almost dinnertime we should probably head back," Fishlegs reminded everyone.
They all agreed and headed back to the village.
