After entering the root base through the door, he had to jump down a passage that resembled a deep well. There was a small bridge on both sides of the passage, and the thick walls around it had countless exits.
The commotion must have caused noise that was heard by some of the Root ninjas. Therefore, when he jumped into the Root base, he was met with a dozen shurikens.
Shurikens could hurt people if used skillfully, but for Uchiha clan members who had Sharingan, these weapons were hardly a threat. The Sharingan gave them such strong insight and prediction abilities that they could easily dodge the shurikens by finding gaps in their trajectories.
"I didn't expect such a special welcome ceremony." Fugaku smiled as he easily dodged the shurikens.
"Those who break into the root will be killed without mercy."
Someone shouted this, but I didn't know who. Nearly a hundred ninja emerged from the shadows, standing everywhere on the walls and pillars, surrounding me in the middle.
Fugaku was surprised at first, then smirked: "Yo, Danzo, is this how you treat your guests? You sent your subordinates to stop me? Are you trying to make me use a big move?"
If it weren't for Danzo's orders, these ninjas wouldn't dare to do this. He is the clan leader of Uchiha, after all even if they were brainwashed, it wouldn't be possible.
Fugaku had guessed that Danzo was inside and ordered them. Otherwise, what was the point of that root-ninja report? Danzo didn't want to see me, but how could that work? If I couldn't get in, how could I learn wood release? So he chose to break in.
Anyway, it was only a matter of time before he fought with Danzo. Danzo hid in the shadow of a passage entrance, signaled an ninja next to him, and his subordinates dashed out.
His purpose was simple. Since Fugaku dared to break in, Danzo chose to stay out of it and quietly kill Fugaku here. He can then claim it was done by his subordinates.
The young Kinoe hid behind Danzo and watched this rockus carefully. He wondered, Is this the root?
Fugaku had just blocked one ninja's sneaky attack at that moment.
"Earth Release: Rock Pillar Prison." Another one used earth release jutsu.
"Earth Release: Rock Stone Fall." Another one used in succession earth release jutsu.
Fugaku countered with "Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique."
Root Ninja's stopped attacking him with shurikens and kunais, and the earth prison rose from the ground and trapped Fugaku in it, restricting his movements. Then, numerous rocks fell from above and buried Fugaku under them.
And with the fire release jutsu died down. That place was rocks-formed quickly with the cooperation of the root ninjas. The root ninjas looked at the large piece of hard rock in front of them with cold faces.
Did we kill him?"
"It should be right."
"Hmph, no matter who it is, anyone who breaks into the root will meet his end." Danzo smirked in the shadows: "So, the fight on that open space by the Uchiha clan was a show?"
He had seen with Sharingan on Fugaku's side. He could confirm that he did not make any hand seals, so the one trapped should be the real body. He was so easily trapped that Danzo had to doubt this fight now.
Did you see it, Kinoe? The intruder just now has been killed by our Konoha root ninjas. You will also become a member of the root in the future. Are you proud?" Danzo began to boast about how righteous and awesome his root was. The young Kinoe nodded blankly.
As soon as he finished speaking, there was a sudden, loud noise, and the solid rock place shattered into pieces, and dust and smoke filled the surroundings.
"What happened?" Danzo narrowed his eyes. The root ninjas' faces changed, and they looked at that place with vigilance. Under normal situations, those who were hit by those moves would usually suffocate. Even if they didn't die in a short time, they couldn't exert any force because they were fixed by the solid rock in one place. "Oh, I just changed my clothes. Now they are muddy. Danzo, you started this. You can't blame me for this sh*t!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the smoke dissipated, and everyone saw Uchiha Fugaku standing in the middle of the basement, wrapped in blue chakra.
"Not good… Stop him." Danzo's face changed, and he saw thoughts of the cracks around that place. He rushed out that place with a bandage covering his right eye.
