somewhere in the Leaf Village
Despite the daytime, many parts of this large and dark basement remain shrouded in darkness.
A sickbed surrounded by medical devices stands out in a brightly lit room. A boy with long hair sits by the bed, gazing into the distance with a blank expression.
At this moment, Danzo, who has his right eye wrapped in bandages, enters with a cane and asks, "Can you walk?"
The boy turned his head, and with a hollow gaze, he did not say anything but looked at Danzō.
"What's wrong? Have you forgotten who you are? Don't tell me you've forgotten how to speak too." Danzō asked.
"No," the boy muttered.
Danzō ordered, "Follow me!" and left without waiting for him, leading the way. The boy trailed behind Danzō in the dim corridor.
Danzō feigned concern: "Orochimaru is a greedy man, always experimenting with new things but never sticking to them. You're lucky he abandoned you early. If you had stayed with him, you would have been his guinea pig again."
They reached a very dark place as he spoke, where they could barely see some masks of ninjas. Upon closer look, they saw dozens of root ninjas standing there. The boy said nothing and only stared at these shadowy figures kneeling on the ground.
"My organization takes in ninjas who have nowhere else to go," Danzō explained. "From now on, you will become a root ninja."
He repeated, "Root?"
Danzō looked at him and continued further: "Yes, we are the strong roots that hold up the great tree of Konoha. Without deep roots, the tree will not stand tall." Danzō knew how to brainwash children very well.
The boy asked uncertainly, "So… this is Root?" He seemed to grasp a bit of it.
Danzō nodded approvingly. "Yes, you will be called Kinoe from now on. You are our friend as well."
He nodded eagerly. Friend, that sounds wonderful to Kine at this moment.
A root appeared in front of the danzo.
"Danzō-sama, Fugaku-sama is here to see you."
Danzō's narrowed eyes: "Uchiha Fugaku?"

Uchiha Fugaku was dressed in a ninja outfit, with a forehead protector on his head and his hands behind his back. He looked at the "Root" of Konoha before him.
The stone gate opened slowly, and a root ninja approached Fugaku and said coldly, "Danzō-sama is not here. Please leave, Fugaku-sama."
His tone was rude and scornful, as he was brainwashed by Danzō to think that the Uchiha clan were bandits who threatened the peace of Konoha and deserved to be killed. He did not care about his strength, even if he knew about it. It did not change his attitude towards the Uchiha clan head.
Root ninja believed that they were the justice of Konoha and the strongest ninja force in Leaf Village.
Fugaku did not get agitated by his proactive words. He just smiled and said, "It's fine. Danzō-sama has many things to do. I understand that he is not here. I'll go in and wait for him."
Fugaku ignored him as soon as he finished speaking and headed straight for the entrance of the Root basement.
Two figures quickly blocked his path, and the leader of the root ninja spoke harshly: "This is the root of Konoha. You can't barge in here, even if you are the Uchiha clan head!"
Fugaku looked at them with a surprised expression and said, "Huh? You're mistaken. How is this barging in? I'm going in to wait for Danzō-sama. You just need to inform him. Isn't that enough?"
Fugaku walked inside again, without caring whether the two heard him or not. The two ninja drew their swords and said, " If Fugaku-sama did not heed our warning, we shall have no choice but to use force."
Fugaku smiled and said, "Oh? " narrowed his eyes, unleased killing intent, and said, "I'd like to see how you can use force."
The two Root members sensed the killing intent and slashed out their swords reflexively. Fugaku caught the ninja sword with one hand and kicked the other person with his leg.
The other person had no chance to dodge and was sent flying by the kick. The person who had his ninja sword caught shouted, "Deku…"
Fugaku coldly snorted, "Hmph, worry about yourself."
He twisted his hand and snapped the ninja sword. He then punched the root ninja, and he also flew out several meters under the punch force, following his companion's fate.
He said in a cold voice, "I'll spare you this time. If you dare to draw your sword in front of me again, I'll kill you without mercy."
The two Root members were filled with fear. They tried to struggle to stand up, but they couldn't. Ninja's physique is not weak, but he only used one punch and one kick to make them lose their fighting spirit without injuring them.
