"Whatever. I'm heading inside.", The brown-haired girl said. If I recall, she said her name was Momo?

The three of us still in the hallway didn't even take another step before we heard a loud plop reach our ears. At the same time, a huge puff of white smoke clouded our vision.

Momo just blinked her eyes, as she was at the crux of it. I tried to hold in my laughter seeing Momo's hair and her body turn completely white.

The oldest trick in the book.

Leaving a pair of old chalkboard erasers tucked right in a wedge at the tip of the door, only to fall down onto someone when it was opened.

"Damn, I didn't think someone would actually fall for it.", I heard a voice call out to us. A voice I had heard before.

I saw a white-haired man, still sporting a black bandage around his eyes, standing behind the teacher's podium. I only saw this man let out a laugh, seeing Momo all white.

"Haha, do be careful and not be late next time, 'kay? Go take your seat. You three come in too.", The white-haired man said, welcoming the three of us.

I knew that the man I was looking at really was Gojo Satoru. His popularity was much higher than Yuji's, despite not being the main character of the show. At least he got his spotlight in the second season. And on top of that, I remember him leaving the house to the left of mine earlier this morning.

So not only is Gojo my neighbor, is he going to be my teacher too?

"This just ain't my day...", Momo's voice uttered as I wondered that. Her shoulders slumped over, which caused some of the white dust to spill onto the floor.

"Oh, and you're on clean-up duty for bein' late too~", Gojo said again, grinning at Momo.

"Now that just isn't fair! Why do I gotta clean up the shit you made?", Momo said, frowning.

"Tough luck kiddo. Them's the rules. I'm making today your assigned day to do it.", Gojo retorted Momo.

Right, there was that, wasn't there? Students were responsible for cleaning and managing rooms. Teachers had no say in it. It was a student's responsibility in making it spotless before returning home for the day.

[Ding! Due to avoiding Momo Ayase's misfortune, LUC has been increased by 5.]

All of a sudden, I heard a single notification sound off inside my mind, causing me to smile.

As I read that message, I saw Momo glare daggers into my eyes, despite me being Baki now. Seeing a very muscular martial artist didn't phase Momo one bit.

I like that.

In regards to the status message just now, I saw for the first time how my status worked. Is it really going to be based on what happens in my surroundings and what actions I take?

[Correct, Master. Ayase Momo ended up being late for class because you arrived on time. Some misfortune befell on her instead of you in comparison to you arriving late]

'I see how that works now. If I'm present during some type of environment I'm in, I could potentially increase my stats, even if I don't directly cause some action to raise it...', I thought to myself.

I also received a brief overview of what each stat did, courtesy of Aura. Where my interest lay was TEQ. in other systems, I didn't really see this often, if at all. It stood for Technique. The higher TEQ got, the more easily I could land a blow, chain attacks, that sort of thing. I do wonder if it acted as a threshold in landing more powerful martial art skills too.

STR was self-explanatory. It bolstered my attack power. END likewise bolstered my defense.

CHA was Charisma, affecting my appearance to others. Considering one of my selected worlds is To-Love Ru, would it be worthwhile to improve this stat? For so many girls to secretly like Rito his Charisma must be off the charts, heh.

WIS pertained to taking in knowledge, improving my mind, brain power, all sorts of things. I figured once mana is unlocked, Wisdom would affect how much mana is capable of being stored inside my body.

SPD was essentially Agility. Reaction speed, movement speed, anything related to speed fell under this category.

And lastly, LUC was your typical hidden stat in most games, affecting several different things. With me being a martial artist, Aura mentioned it would bolster my chance at striking at weak points. According to Aura, delivering a blow at one's weakness would have a higher chance of doing a critical hit, dealing more damage.

It was definitely a stat worth investing in.

[LUC: 6]

After looking at my Luck stat, it was Six now. I presently didn't have any skills to increase its gain, maybe I'll get lucky in the future?

Puns aside, seeing my first stat again left me in a good mood to start class.

Ken, Yuji and I took our respective seats.

I could see several average looking students in this room apart from us four. Four columns of seats sporting five chairs each, a twenty student classroom. Each hallway had five to seven of these classrooms, spanning three large floors, and on each side. To say the least, this school easily held over five hundred students, and it was quite a big one.

Considering we were right next to a major shopping district and a prime location to hold events, it made sense seeing this school be larger than usual. And that was for each grade, meaning this school held around 1500 students.

Apart from Yuji and Ken taking their respective seats almost diagonally proportionate to each other, I scored out and got one a seat near a window. But to my surprise, I saw a familiar long black-haired girl seated next to me. Seated behind her was none other than Momo.

"Well if it isn't the Class President. You're my new neighbor?", I asked, welcoming Yui beside me.

"So it would seem. I don't know why but a lot of students are creating a fuss today, something about an uncontrollable shivering. Do be careful engaging with others.", Yui said, nonchalantly answering me with a stern look in her eyes.

I wasn't sure if she directed that to me specifically, or if it was just a comment made in general, but Yui did raise a good point.

'Hey Aura, is it possible to turn skills off?', I asked Aura.

[It is, Master. You just need to issue it like seeing your status.] Aura answered me.

'Neat. There will be times where I will need to do that. I will keep Baki's Aura active for now, and see if the students here will adapt to it. I'm pretty sure I'm the cause of their current behavior right now...', I mused, taking Yui's words to heart.

"Got it. I'm sure you've memorized all students' names by now, but I'm Baki. Nice to meet you, Ms. Kotegawa.", I politely said with a smile.

"Hmph.", Yui simply replied, giving me a harrumph as she turned the other way.

Seeing me back to myself, I saw Momo, who was sitting behind Yui, and likewise diagonal to me. Sensing my gaze, Momo stuck her tongue out at me.

It didn't take us long to get settled into our seats.

"Hai-hai~", Gojo's voice rang out, calling all of our attention. My gaze immediately shifted to the front, as did the rest of us. As he said that, the second bell rang, signaling the start of the first class.

"All of you have passed the entrance exam of Sainan High with flying colors, starting the next stretch of your guys' life. Unlike the other classrooms, however, each one of you has been placed in this particular room for a reason. After all, each one of you scored in the top percentile compared to the other students.", Gojo said, explaining the situation to us. That definitely was a surprise to us here, each student in this room was a top scorer of the entrance exam?

Now it made sense as to why Rito wasn't placed in 1S.

Sorry Rito.

"Anddd with that said, I'll be your homeroom teacher for this year. The name's Gojo Satoru. And before anyone asks, asking about my blindfold is banned. If you ask about it, I'll make you sit outside for the whole period. If you really want to pursue that interest, please do so during the one hour of free study.", Gojo said, quickly explaining his situation to us.

And just by saying that, that quelled any questions the students had as they looked at the white haired man speaking to us normally, acting as if he could see us entirely.

"For those who aren't used to homerooms, we take this period to give any announcements the students would like to share. Seeing as we have the Student Coucil President here, that will fall onto you.", Gojo said, looking at Yui, seated next to me.

"Of course, Gojo-sensei.", Yui responded, only to suddenly stand up. She seemed to disregard me completely. "To which we have our first announcement to begin our term. Sainan's Entrance Ceremony is currently getting set up and will be held in the auditorium that is attached to this building at 9AM sharp. If you are late or try to delay the ceremony, you will get written up. That is all.", Yui announced, which caused some students to start murmuring silently to each other. I saw Yui sit back down.

"Excellent. To go into how things work here, Sainan High works a bit differently. Us teachers are on a rotation schedule, so you all will only have me for homeroom, which will also act as first period. There will be six periods that you can choose to study, and one of them is a free study session, allowing a student to pursue their interests or go join a club or take part in extracurricular activities. For what we teach here, it is Math, Science, World History, Japanese, and English. Any questions?", Gojo asked us, but I remained silent during this conversation.

It just really dawned on me during this moment. Gojo really is my new teacher, huh?
